2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Hey everyone! I've been using streamelements for the past year and i was wondering if there was a way to get it to show an alert for hosts. I always receive a double alert for a raid and host when someone raids me, but whenever one of my viewers just "Hosts" my channel, it doesnt show and alert. is there a specific setting ive missed or anything i can try?

Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

• All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
• Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

Whenever I try to start streaming to twitch this error message always pops up - "Hostname found, but no data of the requested type. This can occur if you have bound to an IPV6 adress and your streaming service only has !Pv4 adresses (see Settings Advanced)

Hello. 🙂 I'm a Mod with SE Dashboard access.
We've just started using SE for alerts and have been using Credit Roll by Grot. I noticed that the font size of the names would not change, and neither would the speed of the scrolling by making adjustments to the settings. Can this be fixed officially? I am always a bit worried that something might break when editing the code (especially since the overlay fails to duplicate to make a backup). 😓

I used the Editor to edit the code, and that worked at least - sort of. Takes 20 seconds before the credits start rolling. Is it loading the data during that time?
Had to enable refresh source in OBS upon visibility because otherwise it didn't update.

Is there a custom alertbox widget floating around that can read the Twitch Channel Points redemptions and display an alert, with variations so different images are shown (or pulling the image from the CP itself?)? So far all I can find is a beta plugin that doesn't work and better-points.com which is chargeable.

Ugh, so our first stream of our podcast went great. Our second stream, playing Sea of Thieves, kept freezing video and holding one scene after any load-ins; said adjust video quality or increase encoding. Our third stream wouldn't even start; none of the adjustment so made worked and prevented a stream from even starting. Something about updating gpu drivers, but all of my drivers were updated an hour or so before starting to stream. I e had to resort to using twitch studio again until I can figure it out!

Also- i did adjust all video settings lower, checked FPS, tried to run it off hardware instead of software. Nothingggggg

i made a spam filter for ban words that deletes messages with a specific word. problem is, the spam filter deletes the messages twice, and this can make the mod view a little cluttered. is there a way to fix this, i already tried deactivating all other spam filters because i thought there was an overlap, also yes, it's streamelements chatbot doing the double deleting. The way it's been explained to me is that it deletes it so fast that it deletes it again to be sure it's gone. It's unavoidable unfortunately.

You can use StreamElements companion mode too when desktop streaming as another way to see your activity feed, chat and alerts if you'd like.

since day one i started my stream i didnt know about SE, so i was using SLOBS and after a month i knew about SE so i implemeted it and disabled SLOBS bot all was fine but what i didnt know is that the alerts where still coming from SLOBS, recently after i stopped SLOBS completely and moved OBS and wanted to Keep SE i noticed no followers alerts and then saw its from day one

Is there a way to hear the game sound in the headset, and output the usb mic into game chat? and for my voice to be heard in obs? PS I can hear game chat/party chat audio in obs just not my voice the way I currently have it. But my party can hear my voice

I am using the "text scrolling option" but the overlay loads with the text in the middle for a few seconds, then goes blank and starts to scroll. It's really annoying having the text load in then disappear and then start scrolling suddenly. Is there a fix I can do to make it load and appear scrolling only? This is broken using both the credit scroll and any other text scrolling I choose on different widgets. - also refreshing cache doesn't fix..

The only work around I have right now is to manually refresh the cache, and use studio mode to fade into the scene after the error.

Hi there,

When I get raided, the raid alert plays live on stream no problem, but my stream labels only update 'latest host' (raiders also auto-host you). 'Latest raid' {name} label always seems to remain empty, or as whatever I set the 'no data' entry to show.

If I emulate a raid event, the 'latest raid' label updates normally with the emulated {name}. But then if I reload an actual raid from my activity feed, the label resets to blank/no data again.

Any ideas?

This is likely due to the way Raid/Host notifications get sent to use via Twitch, and isn't something we'd be able to change

I'm just a user, not a mod/dev, but there are various ways to do this. You can either do it via:

1. Setting up the alert box widget in StreamElements (Streaming Tools --> My Overlays) to be fullscreen, and having the video source centred there
2. Using the right click Transform menu on the source in OBS
3. Setting up your alert box as its own scene in OBS, centring everything there, then importing that scene as a source into any other scene you want your video alert to play in.

The third one is what I do for most of my sources in OBS - since you can use scenes as sources, I set most of my sources up as individual scenes, then import them as sources into any other scenes where I actually need them to appear.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

It depends on how users raid/host your channel. If they do a raid and twitch sees it as a host, it'll trigger the host alert. When it registers properly, the proper label should be updated

Step 3 is already done cause it's set with the lowercase letters. But the connect custom bot account button isn't there. It's just remove custom bot account

The issue though is that last time i messed up by logging into the activity with the bot account and didn't have access to the activity feed (Couldn't log out the bot) since i'm using OBS Studio and i made a custom dock for the StreamElements activity feed

Thanks. That's strange. I suspect the vast majority do it the 'normal' way (typing /raid [channel] into their chat or OBS). The raid alert is always triggered just fine, it's only the label that doesn't update properly. I've had it working normally on other platforms.

re: the raid/host labels issue, I'd also add that a raid shows up as two separate events in the OBS.live activity feed - a raid, followed by a host (same channel/user). So you can reload JUST the raid alert from the activity feed, without triggering the host alert, and it still doesn't update the 'latest raid' label. Whether it's blank or set to 'no data', it doesn't change. The only thing that does change this label is doing an emulated raid event from inside the SE overlays editor.

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

If a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification.
Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction.
There is a posibility that the tip may have been sent as an eCheque/eCheck - these tips can take from 7 up to 21+ days to show up on our side. Tippers can usually cancel these.
If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hello again. I was asking about an issue a couple of weeks ago, but was told to try streaming and see if it is resolved after doing so (it didn't). In my User Management for my bots page, My name is no longer listed there. Before I changed my name (previous name was Aggro_Oracle) I was able to see myself on the list (and categorized as "Broadcaster"). The question that I use Stream Elements "End Credits by Grot" for my credits roll. During the end credits roll on my stream, my viewers and I see nothing is being credited to, although people have donated bits, raided, subs, resubs, etc. during the current stream. However, when I go into Stream Elements, and go to the End Credits Overlay page directly, I can see everything that people have done during the stream.

My question is do I need to open the credits page on Stream Elements before I run them on my stream? Or is there a setting on Stream Elements that I might be missing for my credits to auto update on OBS?

Hey, everyone! Shoutout avatar widget question: Is there any way to easily link it to another command other than "!so" ? I like using !so command on my "Awesome Shoutout Overlay" for things like new raiders (to see their played game and such), but I'd like to also add Stream Elements official "Shoutout Avatar Widget" as a secondary command to shout out people during a hype train - for those that don't stream. If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

Hi, I have issue with the alert box and the event list. Emulating the events works just fine, the alerts go off and shows up in the event list. But when someone actually follows the alerts dont go off and nothing shows up in the event list.
This means I have the right links since they show up in emulation but something makes it so it doesnt work for the actual followers.
Might be related: dashboard on the SE website doesnt update at all, shows 0 followers.
I have tried disconnecting SE from my twitch acc and logging out of both twitch and SE to then relog and reconnect. Anyone got a hot take on what could be the issue or what else to try?

The stream chat widget should display BTTV and FFZ emotes by default. Make sure you have the !emotes default command enabled in the default commands list and type !emotes update in your chat then refresh the overlay in OBS and the editor if you have it open.

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hello StreamElements Friends ...I had to change my passwords to both my Main Twitch Account & My Custom Bot Name Twitch account ...Now my Chosen Custom Bot Name no longer is an option in Set Custom Bot Name ...i've tried everything including relinking and logging in to both accounts several times ...Unattaching and Reattaching Stream Elements to the channel. 1. Right-click your OBS desktop shortcut (not the OBS.Live shortcut) and navigate to Properties
2. In the Target field, add the following to the very end: --remote-debugging-port=40404 (don't forget to add a space before the current path)

You may have to log out and log back into the dashboard using that specific name that you changed to. Stream sources are pretty finicky when it comes to name changes

May even have to add a whole new stream key if it requires one

Bitrate is how fast or slow your computer has to send the data based on what your output settings are. Unfortunately there’s no “best settings” but it’s a good bet changing those two things should help

If that doesn’t work then I’d recommend scaling your output to 720p at 60 fps and bitrate to 3500 and try that

According to what I can see, you have one overlay from StreamElements, this overlay doesn't have any of our widgets or trackers

so if you want your donation goals to update, while you are using a SE donation link, you will need to start using our overlays

Hi, I have issue with the alert box and the event list. Emulating the events works just fine, the alerts go off and shows up in the event list. But when someone actually follows the alerts dont go off and nothing shows up in the event list.
This means I have the right links since they show up in emulation but something makes it so it doesnt work for the actual followers.
Might be related: dashboard on the SE website doesnt update at all, shows 0 followers.
I have tried disconnecting SE from my twitch acc and logging out of both twitch and SE to then relog and reconnect. Anyone got a hot take on what could be the issue or what else to try?

If I want to disable !songrequest and !voteskip the enable themselves again after I refresh the page. So I thought I would need to disable it somewhereelse first? But I cannot seem to find it. Media requests already disabled...

It seems the bot is not on your channel. Add the bot again (if you have already done that). On your dashboard, there is a button called "Join Channel" or "Part Channel". Click on it and when the bot is on your channel, it will send a message on the chat. And then you can add it as a moderator typing /mod streamelements

Did you change your username? If so, logout and login from Streamelements ( https://streamelements.com/logout ), part the bot and join the bot again to your channel.
