Hi all, I'm new to streaming and now I'm trying to connect the alert box to twitch through OBS (I'm also using OBS.live), I just created an alert box with the default images and connected through a Browser source the provided link, if I launch a test from streamelements the alert works well, instead the normal events from Twitch are not caught, or a least the alerts are not shown, could you land an help please? thanks in advance 🙂

Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

  • All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
  • Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

I'm having issues with some of my commands. For example: if I want it to be

"{user1} laughed at {user2}" with user 1 being the person tagging and user 2 being the person tagged, how would I set this up?

I thought I had it working, then all of a sudden mid stream it started using the same user 1 for both items.

How do I fix it? With that formula we had:

The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

I'm currently having an issue where StreamElements is completely ignoring my bot account. Commands that are usable by myself and basic viewer accounts do nothing when my bot account uses them. I have that account added as a Super Moderator in User Management and as a Bot Supervisor in my Channel Managers. I had initially set that account as the StreamElements Custom Bot name through the OBS Plugin, but I set that back to just use StreamElements in case that was the issue.

Steps:

  1. Install the font on the streaming PC or choose a pre-installed windows font.
  2. In the overlay widget settings, select Text Settings
  3. Click on Enable Custom Font
  4. Type the name of the font as it appears in the windows font directory (This is usually C:\Windows\Fonts)

Note: After installing fonts, the browser and OBS must be restarted for the font to appear.

Hi! I have a weird issue where StreamElements doesn't recognise me as the broadcaster. I changed my username in April and since then it hasn't allowed me to use commands in chat as the broadcaster. When I go into the 'user management' tab it still has my old username listed as the broadcaster and wont let me delete or change it.

Another issue I've been having is that the !leaderboard command also shows the channel point numbers from back in April before my username change (they have not changed since then!). Is there anything I can do to get StreamElements to update this info? Thanks :DDD

Seems to have calmed down now, for some reason it was spamming the same response to a command only used once. Restarting OBS entirely fixed it, despite having logged out and doing everything else.

  • from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Hi everybody. I looking for some help with Awesome Shoutout. Im trying to use a Video to play when I use the SO command. The problem is that the video get freezed at some point (only the imagen, not the audio). Im using OBS.

Something to add. The video works fine in the Awesome Shoutout Edit page in SE, and works perfectly fine in StreamLabsOBS.

This freeze think only happend in OBS. Is a compatibility issue that im not aware of?

no matter what I do my sound alerts never consistently work while live. Sometimes they play the wrong sound like a host sound for a follow etc. I have spent 2 months working on them and it never lasts an entire stream. I refresh browser source. I have all my setting checked at least 50 times and redone them completely twice.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hey, I've been searching for a while but I can only find things for "as streamer" not as a viewer.

When i redeem stream element commands for sounds, they redeem successfully but do not play. This happens when i redeem in twitch chat & also in stream elements links.
As another problem, when I resub, the streamers text to speech, which goes through stream elements, does not work either.
I'm feeling like its something on my end because everyone else's stuff works, but I'm having no luck finding out what is causing it.

I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve here.
As a viewer, if you redeem a store item and it doesn't play sound or something, that is up to the streamer how they have setup the item it self.
As in, if its not a sound effect item, it won't play anything, or if the item does not have a sound set it on, there won't be anything playing.
That being said, the streamer might be missing the redemption widget.

As for resubbing, if streamers are using the tipping moderation with the default filter from us, then assuming your twitch username is "fassionpruit" as well, the filter catches the "ass" in your name and streamers might have alerts just generally disabled when a filtered word is caught.
There is a way to go around this, but it involves the streamer(s) being present.

There are no "best settings".
Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterward, but not a list of settings.

Hey all, I have changed my username on Twitch so would like to have it updated on StreamElements bot. I have followed the steps on logging out and back in and making the bot leave then re-enter the channel and re-modding it. My old username was r_ic_k and my new Twitch is rick296. I can also see that a really old username is still there also (ricklee84) so can it and 'r_ic_k' be fully deleted, leaving only rick296 as the broadcaster name? Thanks!

So i'm trying to setup a sound command using !birb with the response ${redeem birb} (I've set it up on the stream store, everything works on that part)

No problem, so just disable that one and make a custom command $(user) has $(user.points) $(pointsname) and is rank $(user.points_rank) on the leaderboard. and just edit it to how you want it 😄

That would be dependant on your internet speed and your PC performance (if you're streaming from your PC that is)

There are no "best settings".
Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterward, but not a list of settings.

you can track the payment status in your account. It's currently submitted. Once you see it's changed to 'Paid' (in a few days) you can expect it to settle in your pay pal in 1-3 business days

It's not delayed. the end date of the campaign is October 6th in our system. it calculates the campaign's duration as a whole

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

I'm having what seems to be a common problem - setting the initial size. My base canvas resolution in OBS is 1920x1080. My output scaled resolution is 1280x720. What should I choose for my overlay resolution? Do I just then use URL in a new Browser source as is?

I had to change my bot accounts password and when I try to login on OBS live so I can continue to use it as the bot message account it won't link. Even after I login and verify. I am at a loss of what to do.

  2. In the Target field, add the following to the very end: --remote-debugging-port=40404 (don't forget to add a space before the current path)

I could never get Host notifications working, I read somewhere it works if you make a variation, then set the minimum for 1 viewer, but that wont work for me either, it just replaces my normal raid notification instead
