Hey, absolute Newbie here I'm in sort of a Hurry because I didn't expect a simple chat feature to give me so much trouble

but let's say that my fully finished widget for chat is fully set up and I saved it in my streamelements overlay and

it's just, not showing up

in my obs

I have the link set into the browser feature in obs

I matched the resolution of the widget with the one in the OBS source and vice versa

Earlier I got it to appear but it was badly cropped and didn't reflect changes, probably since I forgot to save changes

but what now?

I'm so confused and I got something I wanna stream for the first time in about 3 hours from now

Hi, I know you guys hate hearing about sound issues in obs but looking for some help.

So basically when I am streaming my viewers say that the actual gameplay sound is being screwy. Everything else is fine. Well when I go out to my Vods I do not hear any issues with my sound. It sounds perfect. So on my end I can not see what they are hearing and the issue. Any help would be appreciated. Also I switched over from Slobs to streamelements and I really want to get this fixed so I don't have to go back to slobs.

Navigate to StreamElements menu, on top of OBS > Logout > Login

Misunderstood your issue. Bot is blocking people for using a link right? that option is set up rn under the link protection setting (https://streamelements.com/dashboard/bot/spam-filters)

If a user is a sub and they're getting timed out, it's because they haven't shared their sub to get the status from the bot. You can have them share their sub or manually add them as a sub from the user management tab (https://streamelements.com/dashboard/bot/user-management)

With stream elements I get a timeout and I have to forcefully restart my browser before I can type again

So here is the issue, you need to change a couple things.

1. in the "store 1" overlay, you need to Remove all the assets (Image you can remove by click the "x" in the preview and "clear sound")
2. For the Fatality and Poo alerts, under the Store Store Tab (Loyalty > Store Store), add the asset you wish to display under the "set alert asset" option (under the 2 Item Content section of the edit item options)

hello, i got a little bit of a problem where the cheer/bits alert just doesn't register on my SE, i have set everything up from the animated alert, text, etc. but when i tried to simulate it, i still stays the same, the only thing that changed is the text location, thats it. from the video file, sound, text fonts, colors, nothing else changed despite i have set it up. does anyone knows how to resolve this ? only happens in cheer alert part, other alerts are fine, i have tried restarting browser, obs, refreshing page, etc. but nothing else works.

Notifications for repeated bits amounts in a row are not coming through. Still. It has been going on for a few weeks. My viewers used to hunt for "rare" sounds that had a low % chance of proccing with repeated cheers. Now all of that has stopped since the repeated cheers just don't play at all! Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

Your account should be the broadcaster, not moderator, and this is a known visual bug.. after doing the other steps, the bot should recognize your account as the broadcaster

To add your overlays to OBS, add a new browser source in your scene. If a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification.
Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction.
There is a posibility that the tip may have been sent as an eCheque/eCheck - these tips can take from 7 up to 21+ days to show up on our side. Tippers can usually cancel these.
If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money

3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

Steps:

1. Install the font on the streaming PC or choose a pre-installed windows font.
2. In the overlay widget settings, select Text Settings
3. Click on Enable Custom Font

Hello! My friend streamer wants to add a command that will response with a twitch clip link. We use the command: !command add !test *link* and it works perfect. Streamelements bot response and give the clip link to the chat.

The problem is that for some reason we got 2 responses. One from streamelements and one from streamer's account, so it looks like this:

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name

If you are using win-capture-audio plugin, make sure you have your Windows updated. It is a bit tricky to have it working sometimes. However, in case you are using the one included in OBS, called Application Audio Capture (BETA), the best option would be checking with OBS discord team.

I cant get my streamelements to stop TTS (speak the message) every bit donations and it is being abused- As soon as I start talking someone interrupts by donating 100 bits and saying long messages.
I have tried setting it to 300 instead of 100 in the widget TTS settings but it doesn't help. What am I missing? When I test cheers out in the dashboard with 100bits TTS doesn't happen, It's only when I'm live.
In my tipping settings I have it set to Euro and "1" as the minimum amount to donate but that shouldn't have anything to do with the Bits or the TTS, right? I'm at a loss...

If your custom alert images and sounds aren't showing when you emulate alerts in the overlay editor, check the variations for those alerts. If those aren't changed, they will play the default images and sounds over your custom ones.

Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction.
There is a posibility that the tip may have been sent as an eCheque/eCheck - these tips can take from 7 up to 21+ days to show up on our side. Tippers can usually cancel these.
If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money

1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.

I'm trying to set up some alerts, however I want both a graphic to go under my text AND a video to play at the same time. Since you can only have 1 image/video per alert, I made a second overlay scene that plays the video/gif I want as well.

However, because they're on two different overlay sets, if there is any TTS that goes with my alert, and more than one happens at once, my second overlay window doesn't wait for the TTS is over before it starts playing the video for the next alert.

Is there any way to get it to understand that TTS is playing in another overlay, and to wait until it's finished??

Hi! I have a potential problem with the Giveaways module. Each time I'm creating a giveaway, I'm setting it so that Subs get 2x the chance. But once the drawing is done, the percentages displayed in chat indicate that the subscriber who won had only a regular chance.
For instance:

1. 10 people are in the drawing, 1 ticket each, and 1 of them is a sub
2. Sub wins
3. Chat bot displays the winner and says that they had 10% chance of winning, when they should be twice as likely as other contestants.

Is that multiplier working but hidden from the audience?

Hi, I have a couple questions regarding the usability of addpoints/setpoints command.

I used !addpoints and it says it "set" the points, rather than simply increased the amount of points by however much I specified. I thought add means give points, not alter someone's entire point count.

Also I tried !setpoints too and neither add nor set actually changed the amount of channel points the user has for my channel. Am I misunderstanding what these commands are for? Thanks!

My 1 bit cheer alert has a randomizer on it, I have 12 alerts that total 100% of one of them triggering with and exactly 1 bit cheer. For some reason only one will trigger if there are additional single bit cheers it does nothing so its not queuing the alerts. I don't really know how to explain it better.

They need to install the BTTV extension in their browsers, that is the only thing needed. You do not need to add anything to your channel.
However, if you want to see the BTTV emotes on your OBS chat, you need to go to OBS Settings > Stream > Twitch Chat Add-Ons

Also, BTTV has global and shared emotes. The shared ones you need to add to your channel logging to BTTV website (https://betterttv.com) > Emotes > Select Emote > Add to Channel

You can add, remove and make changes to custom commands in chat with !command/!cmd flags:

!command add (commandname) (commandresponse) - allows you to add a new custom command
!command remove (commandname) - allows you to delete a custom command
!command edit (commandname) (commandresponse) - allows you to edit an existing custom command
!command show (commandname) - allows you to see the raw response of a command before variables are used
!command options (commandname) -(flag) - allows you to change settings for an existing custom command

To add your overlays to OBS, add a new browser source in your scene. Paste your overlay URL in the browser source properties, set the dimensions to 1920x1080 (unless you changed them on the website) and check Shutdown source when not visible and Refresh browser when scene becomes active, as shown in this GIF: https://imgur.com/a/2JhJD0S

Hello! I have problem with my alerts freezing. They worked perfectly fine since last month, but then I changed to christmas alerts and since then every alert starts playing first and then freezes. I've tried making new overlay, deleting all alerts and adding only one, adding old alerts that worked previously and every time it's the same. The emulation works on streamelements website but even the emulation gets frozen in my obs as well as all the alerts during stream. Can anyone help me with this?

Edit. I made gifs from all of the videos and added separate audio file and they seem to work. So my streamelements can't play mp4 videos?

Links that are pasted in chat should open in a regular browser but when you click on a username in your chat trying to go to their page it does open up in OBS, I do not know if it's possible to change but it's definitely not something that SE.Live is doing 😦

You can try asking the OBS support, I tried looking at the settings and I couldn't find something that can be related to that

I tested your alerts and it worked fine for me, not freezing, you can try ticking these 2 options but it should be working even without it:

Also, if that doesnt work try creating a new browser source, and ifff that doesnt work, try a new scene

@lament blade When you do the same from the native OBS chat window (click on a username), it opens straightaway in the browser. Only with the StreamElements does it open in the small window. Not sure about "normal" links, haven't tested those yet ;-).... Would like to stick with the SE chat window just because it seems like it has more functionality

Yea they work now, when I changed everything to gif-files. Mp4 videofiles are not working. I haven't tried them in new scene so I'll do that! If they still don't work then I'll just go with gifs for the time being. :D
