you can harvest the stumps from the secret woods, and plant mahogany seeds to grow mahogany trees, which drop hardwood instead of normal wood when you chop them down.

I find the mountain always gives at least decent fishes, while sometimes ocean can be underwhelming with anchovies or sardines. If you dont want to use the wiki, experiment. In the end to catch all fishes, it's hard to not rely on the wiki.

Once they are matured, they will on average pay for themselves within a single season. And that's at their slowest productivity!

Past that point, their productivity quickly gets out of hand.
