We moderate the server based on a three-strikes system: if you receive 3 server warnings, you'll be given a 2 month ban, after which you can send us an appeal.
If you're given 2 warnings for the same rule, you'll be fast-tracked to a ban.
If you're given 2 bans, we won't accept any further appeals.
Minor or accidental rule breaks will come with a reminder rather than a warning: we'd rather not have to ban anyone. If you repeatedly keep making minor rule breaks, though, we'll give you a warning to knock it off.
A server warning is sent as a private message from 
@clear root, describing what rule you broke and how. If your privacy settings don't allow for DMs from the server, you may not receive the warning.
All warns and bans are dealt with privately by staff and the person receiving the warn or ban. Please don't discuss moderation activities in public. We reserve the right to correct misinformation and stop inappropriate conversations about other members in chat.
If someone's causing trouble in the server or making you uncomfortable, be sure to send a DM to @clear root yourself to let us know. We aren't watching every channel all the time and we appreciate your help with keeping the server tidy.
We're a busy server for an all-ages game played by a wide variety of people. For the integrity of the server and our community, we reserve the right to reject ban appeals for serious or extreme violations, as well as for repeat offenders and troublemakers.
Bans will be upheld for these reasons:
🚯 Having a previous ban on record.
📵 Violations of Discord Trust and Safety.
🚭 Illegal content.
🔞 Graphic or shocking content.
eg. posting links or extreme content containing pornography, horror, gore.
🚷 Personal violations.
eg. threats, harassment, approaches, stalking, doxxing, abuse of minors, abuse of personal information.
1️⃣ Be respectful, polite, and patient.
Consider the person you're talking with. Some examples of unacceptable behavior:
- Rude, aggressive, unpleasant, or trollish behaviour.
- Targeted abuse like brigading, generalisations, slurs, or hate speech directed at a person or group.
2️⃣ No minimodding or engaging trolls.
If someone upsets you, don't feed them or try to enforce the rules yourself, just report them to us instead. [Here](#bulletin-board message) is a more detailed definition of what counts as minimodding.
Similarly, don't throw insults at rude people. You'll end up breaking the same rule they are.
3️⃣ No spamming chat; no abusing server services.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Excessive roleplay, repeated pings, emoji/emotes, stickers, bot commands, copypasta, embeds and media outside of #images-and-memes or #governors-mansion.
- Abusing or misusing bot commands, mod mail, staff contacts, content submissions, channels.
4️⃣ No political or controversial content.
This includes but is not limited to:
- Political commentary, extensive AI-related discussion outside of #programmers-off-topic, religion, sensationalist content, accusations, partisan topics, allegations, nationalism.
- Jokes/topics that discriminate against people's beliefs/political opinions/anything similar.
5️⃣ No advertising in chat.
eg. unsolicited server invites, surveys without having asked staff, social links, endorsement links, third-party promotions.
6️⃣ No disturbing, age-unsuitable, or NSFW text posts, embedded content, and visible profile content.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- NSFW of any kind; this includes explicit sexual content, nudity, realistic gore, gruesome sex jokes, yandere mods.
- Discussion of drugs, abuse, assault, suicide, and other heavy topics.
- Dark humor.
7️⃣ No piracy or begging.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Piracy discussion, sharing links and content, hinting and name-dropping.
- Game or payment requests, financial help, crowdfunding links.
8️⃣ No malicious content.
eg. deceptive links, phishing, viral payloads, IP grabbers, crashing content.
9️⃣ No sharing private conversations without permission.
Respect the privacy of others; don't post DMs from any platform here unless everyone involved is considered. Do not give revealing information about yourself or others (full name, home address, phone number, etc.). Attempts or threats, even as a joke, to maliciously reveal personal information will be an immediate ban.
1️⃣0️⃣ No harassing the game developers.
ConcernedApe is a member of the server and occasionally visits chat.
Please be considerate and use the links in #staff-and-bots under 'Contact Us' where appropriate.
1️⃣1️⃣ **No alternate, duplicate, impersonated, or stolen accounts. **
You must have only one user account in the server. Impersonating another user (e.g. by copying their user profile and appearance) is prohibited.
1️⃣2️⃣ No stolen or AI-generated content.
- Content plagiarism of any kind isn't allowed (including art, writing, and mods). Any work that isn't yours must be credited and accompanied with a link to a first-hand source (see saucenao.com or images.google.com to find image sources).
- Substantially AI-generated content is prohibited, including links to AI-generated mods. See the full policy on AI-generated content as well as on AI-discussion.
1️⃣3️⃣ No non-English language chat, including text and embedded content.
The server's staff is from around the world, but the only language we have in common is English; all communication must be in English so we can properly moderate it. 1️⃣4️⃣ Don't ignore staff decisions or bypass automod censors.
Server staff members are here to resolve issues and stop conflicts in chat.
After staff have intervened, continuing to cause issues will count towards your next warning.

• Discord is a 13+ service. The Stardew Valley Discord server is a 13+ chat. Users under the age of 13 will be removed until they come of age.

Please do also use channels for their purpose. We won't warn you for off-topic posting, but we will issue warnings for continuing to ignore staff after they say to move on.
• Lastly, this server is here for everyone's enjoyment. Please be mindful of the rules, don't take things too seriously, try and avoid drama and arguments, and be nice to others. You don't have to memorise our rules—as long as you're considerate of others and show common courtesy you'll get along fine!
