does anyone know what happens if you do not pet your animals everyday? will you lose the hearts you have gained with them or does it affect the production of goods they make? i am just curious because having to go and pet every single animal when you have so many takes up so much time and wonder if it can be avoided at all once you gain all hearts with them?

i think friendship definitely effects the quality, dont know if petting them does though.

If you don't pet them you will slowly loost friendship points with them.
You will also lose the 'mood' rating of animals, which aslo negatively impacts their product.

As long as you're feeding them, you will still get product at the normal rate, but low friendship/mood means lower quality items, your eggs/milk will be small, and rabbits/ducks will drop less feet/feathers
