Hey guys! New to the channel. Was curious if the devs plan on allowing for mods? My friends and I put HOURS into Ark because of the mod experience on top of what is already a great game. I know it's early in the process and someone has probably already asked this question, but was curious 🙂 loving the game so far! Its a great start!

Thanks. Agreed, the demo is amazing and I'm enjoying it thus far. I started out playing Ark vanilla and loved it. Eventually my friends and I played it with mods and spent hours upon hours beyond because of all of the mod variety which continued to add to our experience. Hopefully the devs are open to it and plan on allowing for servers with mods down the line!

the thing is AAA is more business than games today and it has to act like it. billion dollar companies in some cases with thousands of employees, you have to play it safe and make games that try to appeal to broad audiences. It sucks because the quality of the games suffer for it but the industry has grown so big it was bound to happen

I was able to play the old Crosswind well with my CPU and GTX 970 GPU, so I figured I'd be able to manage this one too; I didn't have any major problems. 😉

However, I couldn't play the new demo at all because my CPU doesn't support AVX2. I hope that gets fixed. There are a lot of players with low-end CPUs here, and they can't play either. The game simply won't start.

Your save won't carry over to EA mind, @hasty roost has/had posted a pretty handy doc of things to know / of note about features / regrowth of trees, what's in the demo etc

It's a 50+ person team, not located in 1 place, all over the world at different points. First Alpha was in Fall 2024, Last Alpha was in Summer 2025, now the demo. Early Access is next.

Demo will run until Early Access and demo is ruffly only about 5% of what will be in Early Access. Exploreable area of Archipelago in demo is only about 2.5% of what will be in Early Access. Early Access will be announced when it is time. See the latest post here #│announcements message from Yar_Master. As far as price and packages, that will most likely follow Early Access Release info.

Also, characters, items and buildings will not transfer to the Early Access, it is part of the demo – different client, different game builds. So enjoy playing the demo for now until that time 🙂
