Change in magnetic flux. Codings can be numerous, but Group Coded Recording or Phase Encoding are quite common. Basically when the phase (direction) of magnetic flux changes, thats a bit and what bit depends on the encoding scheme.
Old hard drives weren't much different from magnetic tape, just tons faster.
And even now magnetic tape is still the most dense way to store data... you can store petabytes in very small space... ok, it's going to take ages and reading that data will take ages, but it's cheapest way to store gargantuan amounts of data... NAND is getting there though...

I did here how you can't go evil and it will like change your apparence like some of the older ones would. Well unfortunately that is how many discord communities look. History, whether it is the history of a video game series all the way to real world history, if it is not discussed and looked at through the lense of modern culture then it is inappropriate... like what... how does that make any sense.. like what you are saying.. by liking an aspect of an old game that you are in the discord community for the series and just stating an aspect you prefer in the games in this series it is considered inappropriate. Yeah, it may be a move to expand its audience too which I realistically don’t mind
but then again, you can have children in the game so it isn’t exactly all that mindful
it’s also funny because Fable 3 had taken a LOT of influence from the Sims 2, which was popular during its development
so in essence, a lot of the roots come from there in regards to building relationships with characters and all of that type of stuff

Yes and unfornuately because of how big AAA teams are and how expensive the games are to make the games have to have a massive buying base or else it doesn't recoop it's money let alone profit. So as such games have to be catered to the masses. It is why you see BGS moving the direction you are.
Now don't get me wrong, Fallout 4 is like one of if not my favorite game of all time, and i enjoy starfield more than most, but if you look at the direction they have been going really since oblivion, it is a direction of catering to a wider and wider audience. And so as such you have to take out elements that gave the older games their charms.
That is why indie and AA games are popping off so well.
So I think the reasoning behind Fable and the direction of stuff like that is to ensure it has the widest player base as possible to bank on the largest buying base as possible

Yeah, absolutely agree. I think that’s the most natural solution to come to; for me my gripes are just that there’s nothing unique about a studio making that move and there is no profitability towards it. So all of these RPGs are just going in the exact same tasteless direction and ending up with very similarly written worlds
so whilst Fable may have a nice looking world

Dragon Age: Veilguard for example
so if you put the world of Dragon Age: Veilguard side by side and this new Fable game, it has NPCs that sound the same, behave the same and generally all play within this idea that every bit of narrative has to be clean and polite
which it doesn’t, because I think any story needs a bit of flavour to it. If it’s just written like everything else then it doesn’t really end up all that good
because the audience at that point is not only used to it, but also bored of it aswell

just to let you know that a 'general climbing' system like that of arc raiders or other games, and a 'climbing system' can exist with a finite state machine.
you can also introduce another third system as well for movement such as parkour for "parkourable" moments to blend and mix for the entirety of the player experience.
this gives the feeling of being able to naturally climb anything, but also the free feeling and flexibility with climbing and parkour-ability.
and now i can finally start moving to what bugged me the absolute most, the fighting!

also animations and controls are super easily controllable all through 'character controller' 🙃
and through the parkour anchor (for parkourable stuff)

Most data goes towards high res video and TEXTURES these days... back then, textures were highly compressed, very low resolution and they did all they could to make them small enough to fit into the GPU memory that was calculated in megabytes... now? PFFFTH! Throw some 4k 32bit multi layer testures there, don't forget the mipmaps and bumbmaps and displacementmaps and normal maps an all that 4096x4096 THE MINIMUM...

That's the issue with PVP games... ultimately they'll die out when there are no enough players...
And TF2 did some really bad choices when they didn't actually put all effort imaginable to curb that hacking thing that made the whole game unplayable...
Ultimately they solved it, but they coudl have done so much earlier... some very prominen cyber sec people did a lot of analysis on the causes and what might be the vector and how to fix it...

Well, the model that Corridor Crew made is open source. I am literally on a discord where people are working on it.
And the AI is something that was used to develop the program, it's no longer an AI by the traditional sense in that there is no more training happening locally

I'm all for AI as a TOOL for creativity and problem solveing... but LLM's are not solving real issues...
AI solved protein folding, which pushed medical science forwards by decades in one swoop etc... Neural Networks are amazing technology... what these companies are doing with them is not great.
If I want an AI HELPER for coding, that's what it has to be, a dang clippy who goes "Hey, I see you're considering iterating through all the items in this list, but since this list is such and such and data is like so and so, would you liek to use this algorithm instead?"

"Hey, please show me what possible ways I have for connecting to this database over this API and search reference material for me on how to do so"

What I've found as a great way to use AI for SEARCHING is that it can much better digest and summarize existing manuals and reference material for me to more quickly find solution to a problem I have.
I'm a sound/AV-technician and we're expected to know all the ins and outs of dozens of different devices...
So sometimes even I go "how the heck did I do this on this particular mixer?"
And AI seems to be really good ant answering these specific questions and that's GREAT way to do it, when it's trained on real manuals that people wrote and it can analyse and summarize solutions for me when I've 5 minutes before the artist is on the damn stage and I've an issue...
But would I PAY for that service? NO! Heck no... I can always read the damn manual myself if need be 😄

I know a sound guy who trained an AI voice model on this miner they always interview for the big corpo mining industries here. The issue is they always interview him in the mines. So the sound engineer uses the AI model to legit recreate the guy's voice so that it sounds good.
This saves him hours of work and makes a better sound (ironically more natural sound even)

Echo and acoustic removal is legit a thing that AI can do if trained well, and that's a great tool for real problem... I mean it's not taking my job away. Someone still has to record the guy in the mines, edit the sound etc... plenty of work that AI can't do.

Cap'n it would be very difficult to detect what component was experiencing voltage drop. Looking at your sub 12V at rest I don't see your system being stable with that video card with Windrose until you get a new PSU or add another.
Alternative solution is to drop your game resolution.

So if you want to use an external PSU, you could just leave your GPU plugged into the 1000w and paperclip it (You'll have to jump it or make a switch) and run a smaller $30 PSU for your mobo,cpu etc.

Done cable seating, I updated the BIOS last week with no change, overclocking is off now, XMP is all disabled and no profiles have overclocking on.
This cable is fine to the touch even under load. Bit warm but not 'burn your fingers' hot

It's a slider that allows your GPU to run at 100% power or a % reduction.
I keep seeing "MSI Afterburner" having the power limit slider, I hope you do not require that but if you do it is free.
