Hi. I've just started using Firefly and notice that the generated images tend to feature cultural sterotypes of my country. I am based in Ireland so in my generated images every person has red hair and freckles and wears green! A prompt to create a cartoon character resulted in images of Leprechauns! I've tried using excluded words "Ireland" and "Irish" but it has no effect. I am guessing that it reads my IP address to discover the country in which I am based. Is this the case? I asked friends in Central America and in India to try the same prompt and their images were generic. How do I get around this?

1. Does anyone know the combination of styles I can use to get an airbrush texture? So far, the best I've come up with is combining "Grainy Film" with "Misty", but it's not achieving my desired results
2. Does the order of the styles matter? For example, will the first styles I select have more weight than the last styles I select?

That's not quite what I'm looking for. Think more along the lines of high-contrast gradient being created by airbrush:
Example 1: the Metropolis film poster (~1927).
Example 2: the "Normandie" poster painted by A.M. Cassandre, or even his Dubonnet ads.

you gotta see it like this, it's all part of the design process, if you would draw these images a good bet is that your first try won't be good or not good enough to be used. yet you still spent the time on it, is that time lost? depends on how you see it. maybe you learned something and in the next prompt you might have a correct result.

Art is not an exact science. Its the same with e.g. a hammer or a saw. If you want to build a table or chair you learn how to use the hammer and saw to build those. As Kingpin says you will fail in order to get it right. Also not everybody wants the same results. What would be a "fail" for someone would be a cool image for another one. At the end we all learn how to use these Tools better and better each day.

It was merely a musing on what the rules will be. The unfortunate thing for me will be that I will be less likely to burn 3-4 sometimes more credits in search of the “best” execution of what I had in mind.

This would be a bit like choosing between a hammer and a screwdriver if you're building a table. You need to use the tool that's right for the job. Illustrator works with vector-based graphics while Photoshop works with raster images. Therefore, I think the answer to your question would be "BOTH".

Of course, it depends on what you're trying to achieve. For example, you wouldn't want to make logos in Photoshop since they're not infinitely scalable, and you wouldn't want to (or be able to) edit images or make photo composites in Illustrator since it's designed to make vector graphics, logos, etc.

I've been using both apps professionally for over 10 years. I'm happy to answer any additional questions you might have about the differences.

Good point. If you're talking about AI-generated artwork and graphics: Only on personal works so far. I do plan to use it in client work, but with full transparency to the client. I'll likely use AI-generated illustrations or images with clients' approval and on lower budget projects that would otherwise take too long to do by hand. For example, a client with a $300 budget requesting 8 realistic illustrations might be better suited to AI-generated illustrations since drawing 8 realistic illustrations by hand would take way longer than the budget would support. Therefore, I see AI as just another tool in the toolbox – and a very powerful one.

If you're referring to Illustrator: yes I use it extensively, especially in creating logos.

My best general advice from top of mind is to first familiarize yourself with the tools in Illustrator and what each one can/can't do. This helps you learn the capabilities and limitations of the software. More specifically, I'd recommend you practice a lot with the Pen tool; it has been my "bread and butter" tool for many years and I use it more frequently than anything else.

Beyond that, it's helpful to keep in mind that just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD. Use the tools that are right for what you're trying to achieve and keep it simple. For example, when I was learning Illustrator, I was trying to use ALL possible tools in every project. Only use the tools you need to get the job done and avoid over processing.

If you want specific tutorials about logo creation in Illustrator, there's a ton of useful stuff through YouTube or Adobe!

I've been using Firefly pretty much since its first announcement, it is a great tool to add to my Adobe software lineup. But one thing, that plagues most AI generators is the restrictions for the simplest stuff during Halloween. Maybe next year during the Halloween season we can get fewer restrictions on the subjects to make decent Halloween cards, posters, and apparel. I suspect your prompt is overly descriptive and much of it is ignored. That's just my opinion based on experience, you might want to look at the results and see moving first to last, how many of the elements you've described are actually appearing in the image.

Please learn how to use discord <@&1076199634810196038> staff and stop with all the pings, set up a role or something for those that are interested, or do better marketing. But pinging everyone every 5 min is not the fvcking way. Once is cool, but no need to keep pinging, some people are trying to work and yall are annoying. Hi All... I created a short 30-minute video that explains how generative AI works (non-technical), how text-to-image prompts work, and then walk you through a little process I keep in my head for creating new images. I call the process SNAP and it just takes a few minutes to use.

I then use a real-world example and demonstrate the process using Adobe Firefly

This happens to moderators as well, and it happens in other discord communities, other users here have also confirmed that. This is a discord bug with the stage event specifically that primarily effects mobile users. I haven't had the issue occur on the latest version of discord recently, although it could also be how you have your notification settings, it hasn't been easy to track down the source.
