Friend of mine just paid someone to do a commissioned work, only to discover it was AI generated (determined by some AI type errors in details), and that's not a great look. Would be a good feature to have a "Generated by Adobe Firefly" digital finger print to help with that, especially to prevent AI from retraining on Stock

That's the thing, though, they aren't being paid, but their names are being used in descriptions to compete against them

When their work is used in AI training, they don't get money, and they can't pre-opt out of the training

(or if they do get paid, it isn't a part of the money earned off of their name and work when the art is reposted on Stock)

There are more and more folks complaining to Adobe about that, and Adobe says they will take the offending works down, but are slow to do it, and it's whack a mole

That's why I'm wondering if there can be a digital fingerprint, which would make it easier for Adobe and 3rd party software to identify AI generated works

i'm now using it directly in photoshop. however, i cannot find the fine-tuning settings of preserving content, etc

there is 'additional settings' button which does not cause any settings to appear

without those settings, with everything stuck at '100 prompt' strength, the tool is not very useful

its best use for fill was when you had very high bias to original content and it could fine-tune details maintaining consistency

it is a very suboptimal system that feels ill-timed and poorly implemented. the most effective use of generative fill right now - i'm just going by quality of what its doing right now and its content awareness and how it can be best applied to work - is when you're generating thousands of versions of something and creating a lot of prompts with a lot of experimentation on reference weight vs prompt weight.

and if you have like 500 credits in a pro plan, thats something a person will burn through using it like that within a few hours.

its a system far more expensive than something like midjourney, which - in terms of its generative model at least - is a superior application

but midjourney likely achieves that by using sd with a huge, huge training library

and its userbase.

(so its likely even more prone to legal challenges down the road)

but cat's out of the bag and this technology isn't going to go away so ..

most legal stuff in the immediate future can be roughly summed up as

coping, seething and dilating

I think you did not get it right: First, you should not ask for ilegal stuff! Second the Images are GENERATED Online. That means you only send your Prompt to the Server, the Image is generated on the Server and it gets back to you via Webinterface. Its basically the same process for all GenAI Tools. There is no way to "pirate" anything!
