I have said this before and I'll say it again, this issue about what can and can't be used to train ai has become incredibly overblown because they are focusing on the wrong issue and not addressing it correctly.

It is my point of view, that adobe's faux ethics in only using certain images and attempting to find a way to compensate the creators of images they used to learn is quite simply dumb.

Ai should be trained on everything that is available and not be restricted, otherwise we should consider VIEWING and not just using / downloading images to be an infringement. We learn from everything we view, whether we paid for it or not, copywriter or not we learn from it, and so should ai.

However, and this is what I believe to be the real issue, ai should not be allowed to reproduce an exact copy of an artists work, or learn and implement the exact copy of an artists style (Essentially their identity) without permission.

It that sense, adobe is doing the right thing by not including the names of living artists. But in continuing to "ethically" in air quotes, only learn from images with permission it is only worsening the debate and hindering progress.

In the end, other ai models, by companies or individuals will continue to use whatever they can, with stable diffusion individuals can create their own models and other technology such as text-video etc will eventually be available on other platforms as well.

In short, learn from everything, but do not allow the use of exact re-creations of artistic works or styles of an artist without their consent. That is the real ethical problem imo.

This is just setting a baseline, and we do have to respect the rights of creators who have copyright protecting their rights against uncompensated 3rd party use. AI models will get blended and merged over time and these initial training issues will disappear as soon as an AI can determine how to best train its progeny to avoid bias and increase breadth and scope of subject areas. We can’t communicate with other intelligent animals with language like dolphins, hell, we can barely communicate within our own species, so it will take an AI to learn how to understand and properly communicate with the internal abstraction languages they develop.

Ensure that you are using the same email that received the invitation to login, the email to login needs to be the primary email associated with your adobe id, it cannot be the secondary one. Try logging out/in, clearing your browser cache, try a different browser, preferably desktop if possible.

Hi all, I just got access this morning & while playing around, had a couple questions (pls feel free to point me in another direction if this is the wrong spot for this chat)… 1. Are any text to image creations being saved on the cloud? I’m not seeing what I worked on this morning on my iPad. 2. I understand ‘content type’ is meant to refine the generated style, however, no result is showing a realistic photo image of my written subject (a fawn). I’m confident Adobe has realistic fawns in their stock catalog based on my experience purchasing stock access. Please advise on the above if you’re able! Thx!

1. There is no cloud saving as of now, if you don’t download the images its not saved. 2. Sometimes you gotta work with the prompt, I’ve had the same issue myself and I’ve just accepted that sometimes its harder to get a photo-realistic result. I find that clearer prompts can help. It also sometimes help to include hyper realistic to the prompt or from the themes section of styles

They had the email to which invite arrived not as primary; They were signing in with via social accounts (social sign in). Does anything of the mentioned applies to your case?

@winged knot we have a bot for that, however people aren't consistent in how they try to write prompts, and a lot of people will just write them without any delineation

I’ve noticed that, but there must be some patterns in the text that could be extrapolated from, or at least have some obvious requests captured and the less obvious ones have an automated private response. This way the user can either ask one of the mods directly about a question, or be able to read a more lengthy response to their image generation prompt request. so much of your time is wasted with responding with the same information. and when the room gets busy, it’s harder to follow conversations with pages of text being generated every second. (Not that it’s that bad now, but some of these prompts are pretty long and repeated multiple times)

@plucky crystal it's likely just the standard pop up when you initially sign in in the beta, I don't have the copy in front of me or remember what it says, but it only appears once. Either way there's no in app functionality

I am really not sure what is the case. Previously ones who've applied just with an email, were able to access by creating an account. @visual warren once you get the invite email, you'll need to visit https://firefly.adobe.com/ and click on the "generate" button to get started. Ensure that you are using the same email that received the invitation to login, the email to login needs to be the primary email associated with your adobe id, it cannot be the secondary one. Try logging out/in, clearing your browser cache, try a different browser, preferably desktop if possible.

Tho I will also say that Kingpin is right, there is an absolute barrage of prompts, questions and other things happening constantly all over the server all the time, and the mods really are doing a great job with an almost impossible task 🙂
