so i'm working on a project dealing with bias and error rates in generative ML whereby i'm using a clip interrogator to generate a prompt from a real image (artefacts and motifs from Indian culture) and then using that prompt to generate an image and seeing how close or far the generated image is from the original. Some of the results are quite revealing (amplified stereotypes, misrepresentation, inaccuracies, etc.). Bias being a can of worms and all, do you guys think this is an effective method of visualising it?

Absolutely agree, sorry for the long question, i'm just trying to make a thing that acts as a marker in time for this AI explosion in the creative sector that everyone is jumping on. Since we don't have access to the datasets used in training these models, i've been using different generators to create the images which have also revealed different measures of bias (possibly from small sample sets like you said, or skewed sets, etc.)

Wrong Stable Diffusion requires more effort to get really good images but you have a lot more feature to work with. MJ uses heavy filters so whatever you use as prompt it looks good but you over pay.

Also, I am kind of disappointed in the Firefly results. Especially when it comes to generating people and objects. Far from looking real. A lot of glitches. Good for abstract things only.

Firefly does seem to be very good at generating abstract things or animals, environments, or highly realistic fantasy creatures but is quite bad at people.

In that case I can get exceptionally realistic results using stable diffusion. But it is still in beta so we will see, but I would have expected a company like adobe to have figured out faces or something similar to codeformer

I just have a preference for realism, and that includes fantasy creatures etc. The fantasy creatures such as dragons, firefly does really well, but it is surpassed by stable diffusion in generating realistic people, tho I don't tend to use strange poses and stable diffusion has a bit of an issue with fingers.

Tbh, I have absolutely no idea on how to generate arty images on stable diffusion and any attempts to do so have failed miserably, doing so is much easier on Firefly

@astral thorn once you get the invite email, you'll need to visit https://firefly.adobe.com/ and click on the "generate" button to get started. Ensure that you are using the same email that received the invitation to login, the email to login needs to be the primary email associated with your adobe id, it cannot be the secondary one. Try logging out/in, clearing your browser cache, try a different browser, preferably desktop if possible.

I'm doing mockups for a musical production and trying Firefly to see how useful it might be. This one will take a little bit of photoshopping to fix the weird arm and the neck wrinkle, but overall, pretty decent. The prompt was for a woman in 1918 singing opera on stage. Some came back with a microphone, but that one had a good hit rate. The watermark is gone (sorry) because I had to crop out some artifacts, but this will only be seen here.

For further context, i meant tools like automatic colour grading. For example: give this picture a matte black colour grade. Or for superposing and combining a background of an image with the subject of another, giving a background a different colour grade than a subject, or even just basic colour correction

But if those are actually all the features then hopefully some of these would be considered in the future, either in firefly or some other program. Thank you!

That's about how long I've been waiting. Not really insane tbh, betas need to be managed correctly or they lose their purpose. Just relax, enjoy the other image generators that you can access for now, and come over to this when you get access. That's my plan anyway.

Received my welcome "Your're in" email today. However, when logging in to firefly.adobe.com and Creative Cloud I'm still only seeing the option to "Request access". Am I missing something?

@restive cove once you get the invite email, you'll need to visit https://firefly.adobe.com/ and click on the "generate" button to get started. Ensure that you are using the same email that received the invitation to login, the email to login needs to be the primary email associated with your adobe id, it cannot be the secondary one. Try logging out/in, clearing your browser cache, try a different browser, preferably desktop if possible.

Thank you. When I hit any of the 'generate' buttons - eg Text to image - it takes me to a pages with a video and a 'request access' button. I'm using the same account/email I received the invite from.

there were several cases usually when people who were applying met this issue; They were applying with an email that has no Adobe ID associated it. They had the email to which invite arrived not as primary; They were signing in with via social accounts (social sign in). Does anything of the mentioned applies to your case?

Then you need to wait for your request to be processed. Once you get access you can start using it in your web browser
