I've had this idea in my head as a suggestion, but I'm asking as two questions just in case it's planned: Are there any plans to update or "finish" the 2D scope implementation in Reforger and/or Arma 4? Also, are there any plans to implement better/different sensitivity options and look at the mouse smoothing/turn speed cap stuff?
I ask about 2D scopes because, in my opinion, right now they're just... not great. I prefer them for performance reasons (and I think they'd go a decent way in helping players get over performance issues, since Picture-in-Picture optics can be a performance hog), and I've noticed they feel like they have much less input lag. I think with an implementation like Arma 3's 2D optics, that would be perfect.
I'm asking about the sensitivity options because, as it stands, sensitivity just feels inconsistent across the board. This is worse when you get into magnified scopes, additional focus zoom settings, and the multiplier value. It's already rough because Reforger seem to have a built-in mouse smoothing and/or turn speed cap, so mouse input already feels sluggish and inconsistent compared to Arma 3 or other games with raw input, but aiming just never felt right in this game. I don't so much mind a turn speed cap, but it feels like there is a smoothing filter or something with every input in this game.
There is a mod on the Workshop called "PiP Sensitivity Fix", if I recall correctly, which fixes the zoom level discrepancies with sensitivity, but I was just curious exactly what's in the pipeline (even if it's in the far future) as far as 2D optics and the aiming/input stuff. I'd love to see 2D scopes implemented like they were in Arma 3, or like in other games such as Squad before its ICO update, Battlefield 3/4/1, and so on. The "black tube of death" where your POV is as if you are inside the scope housing itself is just unfortunate, but I assumed it was an unfinished and quickly thrown in feature for those on lower end hardware.
