After the last forums update I get often logged off in the middle of browsing the forums. So click on the post fine but when return to threads list, I often get logged off. Refresh does nothing but selecting address in address bar and entering it again often works. Annoying to say the least.

The stuff between USP and the outside has been resolved by USP and Valve. I'm pretty sure you were made aware of this.
Outside of that there is no issues with USP. The statement has been received on May 3rd, 2019. And all involved members complied.

@normal lily No rogue member here, not sure what the exact issue is though. The fact that a member of USP asked for the current situation, or that the false DMCA claim (which has been resolved) now became a much bigger issue with BI's involvement.

I'm 100% for BI's involvement, if only they help when false claims are issued. If not, then I'd like to ask for BI to not involve itself in legal issues between USP, an impersonator who falsely filed a DMCA and Valve.

I just hoped you could have helped me out regarding the moderation aspect of it, we've worked with Rob before and thus far it has been a pleasant cooperation from our side. Hopefully we can continue that and resolve this issue as soon as possible. We wouldn't want people to think other things are happening here outside of the DMCA and encryption issues, which are both resolved by now.

It's really just annoying, and not only for me. It's also annoying to the people who will make further decisions.
If there is a guy infront of me who will decide about my wellbeing, I sure as heck wouldn't mock him or annoy him or otherwise make him angry at him
Forum rule violations by missbehaving users will be punished as such.

Users and Objects aka mods are usually seperate, unless all of the users just so happen to also be involved in said mods.

If a dozen people bully you every day. And then suddenly give you a cake and say they are sorry. Do you eat the cake?
I'd really like to not discuss this any further. There is nothing to discuss about clear forum rule violations.

And yes, we know who is involved with USP and who isn't. We can differentiate on that.

@normal lily I think it's clear in how far you are willing to take it to not discuss this outside of @ocean badge. Which is perfectly fine. I merely had a question regarding the communication between the moderation staff and the remainder of the USP team, as we are unaware of the reasoning. I'll forward the question regarding the reasoning towards Rob, which is perfectly fine with me.
But I do also hope that you understand the way some members may observe this. I would like to point out that not all, if any, of the messages came from USP developers. There are even people that have nothing to do with us that used to forums to express their feelings or questions about this topic.
I totally agree with the entire 'private' part, and I'd like to keep it that way as well. I undoubtedly think that all parties would, and shall do so henceforth, however we can not control what other people say about USP.

Any questions or concerns in regards to USP can be directed to me through private messages. I will not speak on behalf on USP, I wont comment on their on going case unless its a USP representative, but I can answer general questions. As for the whole USP screenshot discussion, screenshot using a banned mod (DMCA’d) will be hidden from the photography thread on the forums as per the rules for the thread. USP was dmca’d, false or not it did not have a place in that thread at the time, just like VSM mod pictures arent. Once this case is closed, hopefully within tomorrow I will look into unhiding the photos if USP are deemed okay, which from a mod standpoint it does seem like it is.

Please direct any other questions about this specific topic to me directly in dms on the forums. Thank you.

I know it has categories, just that they are not as nice as the discord channels/grouping.
For example, there are 16 channels for Multiplayer section on discord, but just 1 section on forum. So we get a separate section for Warlords on Discord.
Then there is a separate channel for Apex and 3 channels for Contact/Livonia but all this is bundled together in the DLC section on forum.

Is there anyone that I could contact to get my forum name changed? I've been using this "nickname" for quite a few years now and haven't used the name on my BI Forums account in ages. The problem is that as Project Lead and creator for the published Project True Viking mod, people are seeing one name and then seeing this name on Discord and everywhere else leading to confusion for people.

So I'm wondering if there is someone I could contact directly about it--whether someone at BI directly or someone who maintains the forum accounts/forum itself.

Be VERY CAREFUL with "custom memory allocators" being posted on BI Forums. I just found 2 posts of someone releasing their custom allocator, where the BIF account was brand new, without avatar, assigned to a spam mail address (ayushxxxhaxxx12thfloxxx@gmail.com) and being posted from India where most of our spambots are also coming from!
I will take all these posts down, but new ones might appear in the future!

A lot of the ones without links are to drive traffic to a site through organic search. Those Elon Musk fake tweet pics with products in them are a decent, albeit more direct, example.

If there are keywords they want to push up that are shared in the marketing/meta of the site, those will get searched more often eventually I guess.

As this decade is running out of time and we're heading into a new exciting decade, I would like to extend a thank you to all of you who have created guides and tutorials for how to play and edit everything from simple missions to how to do proper combat landing with helicopters in our beloved ARMA.

Throughout this decade I have come to play ARMA more than any other sim/game out there, and even though it has its "features" where the really fun things happen, we still keep on playing it. My most played "mod" this year have been the Escape missions, where me and my crew have attempted up to ~1000 escapes and had somme of the greatest experiences online.

A special thank you goes to all of you Youtubers who have created tutorials and how to's in pretty much everything that relates to ARMA, you know who you are. Thank you!

I would also like to thank Bohemia Interactive Studio for its continued support and development of this game, and I can only hope that this community will see a optimized ARMA 4 with new conflicts and interesting content, and maybe even a general support for VR for the immersion elite ;)

Once again, thank you all for a great and fun decade and see you on the battle field in next decade.

What you can do is create a custom stream (go the the unread page and change the options at the top) with only the items you follow that are unread, save that stream and get an rss feed from that. It won't include things like you being quoted by someone or posts being liked etc but it's at least better than nothing

My mission release thread got set in "Pending Approval" state again after I updated the links to my new version of the mission (same as the last times I posted an update). I already reported the thread (as I was told) but after more than a day it is still in the pending state. Would anybody be so kind to help me with this? I get bombed with messages asking "Why is your mission gone from the forum?"

They use LetsEncrypt, which last 90 days but can be renewed every 60 days (or any custom length).
Emails are being send when the certificate is about the expire (20, 10 and 1 day beforehand), although it's best practice to simply automate renewal.

Hi, I just bought arma3 (I only played 12 hours). I am enjoying playing koth but there is only one Brazilian server, sometimes two and there are not always free slots so I enter American servers. I am very well received by the Americans, but a friend told me that in general Brazilians are frowned upon on foreign koth servers and that it reaches the point that if they discover that you are Brazilians they will ban you instantly. I thought it might be an isolated case or maybe a ban because of the connection, but other friends have reported similar experiences to me. What do you non-Brazilian koth players think of that?

I'm not sure anymore but back in my days, there was something like a 'list of bad words' which were then replaced by something else.
Was many years back and with another forum software, so this might not be active anymore. If there's something like that for invision too, that would be an option to get rid of foul site without mass editing posts

I'd like to pick this up again because:
The dead links to the hosted addons are not a problem (yet), they lead to a 404 page. Unless this does change, no mass editing is required
What should be removed, is the link to the main page (now a gambling site) in his signature. Or at least he must be told to remove it. Pretty sure the forum rules are not allowing this
As for the situation, there's nothing shady anymore. He sold the domain, removed the content and ran away. He's not replying to sent mails either so I'm pretty sure he and armaholic are gone for good

We are working on Arma 3 data pack, the models that you want to edit might be in there.
And if we release the source files there, you would also be allowed to edit them according to the supplied license

Just outright blocking india would already do so much.

Simple check of indian IP range, 49 pages. First page is 100% spambots, most not banned/found yet

On second page one user seemed genuine because he posted a valid looking reply.
But then I googled his username and found that there all dozens of results are accounts on different forums created on the same day.

And then I looked closer at his reply, he was saying to check RHS mod installation, replying to a user having problems with IFA3...

First 4 pages, 25 users per page.
So far total
7 users that never posted anything and I can't see if they are spambots
3 users that posted a single message and seem to be real.

Rest all spambots. Thats a good 90+% spambot rate for a single ip range from india 😄

I could spend weeks doing this, and I did that at some point a couple years ago, but I don't have the time for that anymore.
