I've deleted all Enshrouded related files (Saved Games Folder, and so on) but... it still loops every time i start the game!

Very excited about the new update! Noticed there is no fix or improvements for multiplayer lag issues causes when switching hotbar selections. When host switches hotbar selections all players, including host, may experience brief moments of lag - when doing rapid hotbar selection changes with scroll wheel for example this is exacerbated. Check in the bottom left of the ESC menu whether it says it is compiling shaders. If it is, then it may just not have compiled the shader for that glow effect yet. After a game update or a video driver update, the game will generally compile all the shaders again, and it can take a while.

Yeah I've tried about 4 times. Each time I wait about 10 minutes for the preprocessing step to complete only to be greeted by 0.1fps. I try to navigate to the Settings menu and each time, it loads the Control settings. I try to navigate to Display settings and the game crashes. I checked the logs and they don't appear to report anything abnormal before/after/during crashes.

Since it is complaining about video memory, i would try lowering your texture resolution in the settings. If that doesn't work, type /minidump here in discord and follow the instructions to see if that can resolve the issue. Also make sure your GPU meets the minimum requirements of the game.

Yes that should be fine. But make sure texture quality is not set to max. One setting lower than max should be fine though with 10gb of vram. max will require closer to 12gb in some areas. It is also possible that the error is related to low available system ram (hard to be sure with the limited information given).

If you type /minidump here, it should direct you to a script you can run that tries to resolve known crashes and includes minimizing most of the game settings among other things it does like clearing cached shaders.

Make sure the drive is not full and also maybe run chkdsk on it. That is definitely an abnormally slow speed

It's not full and while I appreciate the recommendation, if there was something wrong with the disk it would be evident in other applications. Enshrouded is the only thing I'm having problems with.

Wondering if anyone has this issue. Installed today to checkout game again, I have rtss capping my fps which is what I want with overlay. Played a bit then closed the game. Loading it back up and rtss is not working for this game? Tried "—keep-vulkan-layers" and reboot etc but nothing seems to enable rtss in this game any longer?

Other games it works perfectly and was working until I re-opened the game. On a private world btw.

Often times a door can be destroyed with a pickaxe. It takes a long time, but as long as you see damage numbers appearing, it will eventually break. Other than that, i dont have any ideas.

I don't know where to put my issue, so I'll write it here.
Since I have an Altar in the 'pre-rebuild' Kelvins Rest I can't do this quest for more helpers there, without going to another server.
Maybe it is only my impression, but I don't like all the 'rebuilding' of places. They all look the same and it does make no sense that old farms and villages start to convert into military bases with stone walls. I was looking for this 'Gartenzwerg' and the bandit hideout at 'Wieshof' is now completely rebuild with stone walls. Why?
I really hope that no more places will get reworked or that at least some old version of the game will be available. For me some places are getting really ugly.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to get that stuff to spawn without removing the spawn protection from the area. You can grab all your stuff and save pictures of your build, so you just have to come and rebuild it by picture. I know that would be a pain though.

When I run up stairs, the camera focuses on the back of my calves and feet, making it hard to see where I’m going. At least it isn't just me. As for your other post, the only thing I can say is check if the game is compiling shaders. Depending on your CPU, it can take a ton of horsepower. It can absolutely cause stutterung and lag. Bring up the menu and look inthe bottom right corner. If it says "Compiling Shaders" wait for it to finish. If it doesn't, then I have no idea

Hello all, So I am trying to load into a server my friend is hosting. My game boots up fast, and when I connect to his server it starts to connect and the little cutscene plays with no problem at all but the moment that ends it's just black screen with loading in the bottom right with the '...' the game hasnt crashed, my mouse moves around still. Hi, so I've been running into a crash issue since the last update, I'm unable to load into a game (solo AND online) without the game crashing (either directly from the loading screen, or ~30 seconds into the game). I tried the /minidump command and followed every step, tried the fixtool, tried verifying my files, updated my drivers, nothing fixes the issue.

Try renaming/deleting the enshrouded_local.json file. That will cause the game to rebuild the json file with the new settings. You can also try the suggestions from the DM when you type /minidump here in chat.

Because of the way the world works in Enshrouded, there is sadly no better way to deal with that, except putting multiple altars to cover everything except the top of the tower (That's where she'll respawn)

From experience and other reports, if the soil is not deep enough, the crops will just disappear. Something worth checking to be on the safe side. If it continues to be a problem even with plenty of soil (Think 1 block depth of soil) then submit it as a bug report in game using F1/esc menu.

I've been waiting for this update for a while just for the new weather system, adding a good immersion to my cozy village.

Everything is working perfectly and I see some rain while exploring, except when I am in my village (which is the main reason why I was waiting for this new system)

I did some tests by changing my dedicated server setting to "Weather Frequency: Often" and I've been waiting for more than an hour in my village for now without seeing rain.

My village is located at the South-East from Revelwood Ancient Spire on a small mountain as you can see on the screenshot (the white circled zone)

I feel like the rain will likely appear in risks zones where monster are located, since the mountain where my village is located was empty and safe before I installed my altar.

Not sure where suggestions may be put, but was playing with someone who didn't spec for double jump, and they got stuck down in a rectangular pit heading into the new Well. This pit had grates over one side. It was in the shroud, so couldn't teleport out, there was no grapple point to grapple out. If someone doesn't put points in double jump, there needs to be options to get out of those situations (and don't assume you'll mine out if you cleared your bags and gear for fighting instead of exploring). I had double jump, so they stood on my head to jump out (this was tricky, as it pushed me into the floor and it took multiple tries) and then I jumped out, but if I hadn't been there, they'd have been stuck until they died. That spot would benefit from a grapple point.

Does anybody know a fix for ds4? With steam enabled L1 (LB for xbox) doesn't function at all. If I try clear and reset the mapping with L1, it gets recognized as L2.. Okay, so it saved there. Yes, take the characters and 3ad files and save them to another place where you can then enter them back into that folder once you reinstall Enshrouded and start it up the first time.

Just bought the game with my partner. Hosted my own server and she is struggling to interact with the menu - as in no input is being recognised at all unless she alt-tabs out and back in and then the game will recognise her inputs for a time until it'll happen again.

We think it might have something to do with the evade binding, changing it from CTRL didn't really alleviate it, but the bug happens consistently when evading and then trying to drag things about in the backpack.

Kinda frustrating as the game revolves around looting and inventory management, so will probably have to refund if there is no fix/workaround. (Also happens for her in solo too)

Looking to report a bug. I have had 2 crashes from trying to split stacks of items. I have split 3 stacks at different times, at least 30 minutes from each instance, only only one time was I able to split a stack without the game crashing and me losing progress. Is anyone else having really bad stuttering/FPS drops. I downloaded the game two days ago after seeing the new update and now when I switch weapons, use the glider or move my camera when attacking the game will just freeze for a second or more.

The quest doesn't transfer with your character. I unlocked her on one game and when I went into another the quest undid itself.. even had her portrait in the hotbar but nope.. wouldn't place and quest reset to start

I ended up putting down 4 altars around the fort to cover everything except the tower.. fast travelled.. skeleton popped and got her. Put old altar back and removed the others.

I did. I delted it and replaced it with those files in the local directory. Tried both the Steam user data folder and the local save game folder. Steam Cloud always overwrites it with the cloud save and reverts to that, when cloud saving is disabled the local file sees it as a new game.

I play on a PC from 2015 with Intel Core i7-6700k CPU 4.0 GHz. RAM 64 GB and graficcard is a NVidida GTX 980. The Game is installed on a SSD.
My grafics are not the best, I sometimes have a crash if I play more then 5 hours. The preprocessing took maybe 2 minutes today and I had to adjust something in the grafics. I don't really know what it is, but sometimes everything is dark. I just switch around in the settings and it goes back to light. 🙂

Hmm that was not the intention, especially if the games not running at all (crashes or something). Sounds more like a bug.

We did notice a slight performance drop after the shader changes, but it's something we're aware of and looking to fix, not really an intentional requirements change or anything like that.

Though yes for this user specifically that GPU is well under our listed minimum requirements on Steam, which hasn't changed with this update. You have half the listed VRAM requirement.

You might technically be able to get things to work with enough fiddling, but it might be pretty tough and I can't really make any guarantees in that regard.

We're trying to get that number lower but voxel tech is always pretty tough on VRAM in games, especially with the kind of fidelity our game has. And that's not really anything new with this update

Sorry, we're definitely not trying to break any hardware (not like we benefit from that in any way), but it can be pretty difficult to keep things stable for cards so far below our min specs while still trying to update the game. So I have an odd problem/question. Came back to the game with the update and decided I didn't like my base and wanted to move. I settled on taking over Thornhold and fixing the place up. I went and cleared the place of mobs and found one of the dogs you could tame there. So I dropped my altar and went back to my base to get dog food, and now I cannot find the dog there, even though the quests says to find it there.

Hey ya'll, just booted up the game today and was overjoyed to see that NPC's can pull stuff from chests to craft! I saw the blacksmith icon over one of my chests, but it wasn't the right one so I moved stuff. Now I can't seem to get the blacksmith to link with any chests, outside shelter, inside shelter, near forge, near charcoal kiln, using summoning staff to set roam from 10M to 0M to 50M, placing crates all around to see if it's a pathing issue, NOTHING. here is what fixed my stuttering problem (when switching weapons ect.):
like many i played on release and came back to this problem;

in short (if you dont care about your savegame):
probably only deactivate steam cloud for enshrouded via steam
-> rightclick on enshrouded - properties
-> disable savegames on steam cloud

in long (what i actually did):
delete this folder here: C:\Users<username>\Saved Games\Enshrouded
copy savegame from steamcloud to desktop: D:\Programme\Steam\userdata<id>\1203620\remote
deactivate steam cloud in steam for enshrouded
-> start game, create new char/world
--> no stutter

get your savefiles:
delete all files, except "enshrouded_user.json" here "C:\Users<username>\Saved Games\Enshrouded"
copy everything from desktop "\1203620\remote" to \Saved Games\Enshrouded
-> start game
--> new and old char/world without stuttering

just keep in mind, your savegame is now in your \Saved Games\Enshrouded folder and not steam cloud anymore (for backup ect)

if i turn on steam cloud
-> again full on stutter

You can restart the server and they should then instantly reset.

My character when using the wand, there is no arm swinging animation, the arm stay in standby position. When Firing the Fireball comes out really quick and there is no time between the shots. Basically my wand is a MACHINE GUN. LoL Really awesome, but I don't think it was intended to be like this.

Is there any way around the desyncing problem (where if you are playing with someone far away [for instance, US to AU] that the people joining the host will desync extremely badly and nothing will fix it ingame)?

The only solution I found was using a VPN and setting my location to AU, the desyncing stopped but this method causes such bad lag that the game is still virtually unplayable... 😦

Thank you! This worked for me. I tried limiting FPS an it did not work. I was getting stuttering in between ANY action - changing weapon, using weapon. I was getting artifacts - grapple line trailing across the map, glider permanently stuck to my back and flapping.

Ping is not a solvable problem for players, unless you use vpn, but if you do encounter heavy desync and slow rendering, try to change steam's download region to another one.

I have this weird bug that every now and then when my character switches equipment or is going into flight ect so the moment a weapon should leave my hand into the inventory I get a lag spike in the game and it freezes for a split second. after that I glide like I am suppose to or switched my weapon but with the original weapon that should disappear still in hand. yes well thats the thing with early access my game worked fine before the update now my steam after the update wont read the code for some reason my solo player files decided to have load limbo and they wanted error files and i have no error files because i couldnt play so yeah its funny they asked lol, yet my backup my new steam deck it loads and plays just fine so its something within the vulkan code

I don't take it as too much of an action based game where I would want 144hz anyways, and typically limit it down to 60-75 anyways, just so my fans don't have to go nuts and make my room noisy when I game.

honestly though, with your specs a tier above mine in nearly every category... it is odd. I mean I am O/Cd to I think 4.8 all core right now... but with your system... I would expect some gains... You have XMP and everything enabled on there?

bout the only thing I can think of off hand where I would possibly be at an advantage, is if your memory is on default timings.

well intel were just being dicks and wanted to have a bigger number on their ad for the year, so it wasnt below AMD's best chips. At the risk of this... terrible. Like im fine undervolting, but the average consumer would have no idea and just assume t heir CPU is defective, because it kinda is

I had t he i7 at first, 13th gen and it was doing the same thing. Sent it to be RMA;d and they had no stock, upgraded me to the i9 for free, and it has the exact same problems

was kinda right around then when it as more public that they just friggedd this generation of CPU';s and pushed all the blame on motherboard companies

Dear developers! I still get thrown out of the game when I'm on the menu without even going into my world. I deleted and reinstalled the game - it didn't help. The game throws me out and writes about the error, unfortunately the error number is not specified. I send all error reports immediately after leaving the game.
I haven't been able to play for 4 days!
my problem and the game error is similar to the problem #troubleshooting message
