Theres def a learning curve; t was not for me though lol uninstalled it almost immediately

I know a few of the really impressive builds are modded/use BC - but again its tricky because its not updated regularly.

it also doesnt have a map marker, so i dont feel like im ruining too much.

i'm really trying to enjoy exploring the new shroud update but it's hard to. Every time I go exploring in the new shroud areas I inevitably end up trapped with no way out and/or run into something that reduces my time. The only thing i've found to escape the deeper areas are thouse bouncy pads, but even those don't always lead to the top. I've been trying it for a few hours and died like half a dozen times just from getting stuck. This is at lvl 33 with a starting shroud time of 14 min

every time i go down there I just feel trapped with no way out and it's incredibly dark

I wish I had some wisdom to part with you, but, ya, the shroud can suck at times. but I think that's kind of the point.

I would craft if I was just short of a certain amount. But it was def easier for me to go back to Pikesmead and kill the thunderbrutes and banshees there 😝 sometimes having to keep going all the way back to my base and talk to the alchemist was inconvenient

I'm planning on buying the game. Does it have performance issues and a lot of bugs, or is it excellent?
I'm a solo player and will be playing by myself. Can I customize the world settings? And does the game support a PlayStation controller and show its buttons?

Well, i wouldnt say it has Performance issues but it is very demanding.
Bugs are not a big Problem, they did a decent Job on that!

World settings are customizable to a degree and there is controller support - though i only tried it with an xbox Controller myself

My recommendation to you is to buy the game if it has the kind of gameplay that you like. You won't regret it.

I have a 4090 but also run 4K everything maxed. I don't notice performance issues. However, one complaint is that the draw distance is poor and it's currently unconfigurable.

I've only had one game stopping bug. The bug manifests like desync, which is odd because I'm playing local only. In all of the 100+ hours that has happened only three times.

Other than that, I see the occasional visual glitch such as a terrain seam not matching up or plants above the ground.

yes, this game will appeal quite a bit to that. voxel-based system with permanency inside specific areas you can expand, outside of those areas you can mine/tunnel/etc but it will reset

you can, but if you dig outside of the 'zone' (you'll know what that means once you start playing) it will reset either after half an hour or when you log out and log back in, its only permanent within the 'zone'

but it's great for when you want to reach an annoyingly hard to reach spot, you can literally just dig your way to it
