Bizarre, I logged back in and pressed F1 to report the bug and while I was writing it up on the other screen everything is restored, I guess it was a crazy ultra delayed loading issue? even though when I logged out and back in my character was then naked in the character select screen and still logged in naked. Well not gonna complain, at least everything is back!

Hmm i die often as i suck so my son says lol ! but I turned off the setting so I don't drop any loot so i am very proud when i do kill things haha but don't think it is terribly hard . I am straight up fighter and my wife normally stays behind trying to heal or using wand to help kill things.

It is very fun and get many laughs when all of us are on , The Hollow Halls was very comical with wife ,myself and 4 kids all going into it. By the end however i was ready for a tall adult beverage 😛

I tried out enshrouded when it first entered early access, and I was reeeeealy bad. When I found out all the stuff I was carrying stayed on my body in the shroud, I just noped out, and quit lol.

I personally don't mind the default loot setting, where you keep equipment but lose your materials and looted items. Adds a sense of danger to dying but not to a frustrating degree

Given the complexity of water in this custom voxel environment, it may be more aesthetic than anything. There is already a lot of guessing and speculation how water would even work in this world. While they did finally say yes to water via roadmap we don’t know when or to what detail water will be implemented. So dont get too excited about exploring the depths of some mountain lake lol water may be death for all we know.

Speaking of OST seems like the order of the soundtracks is wrong on Steam. Once the new stuff got added they are playing as 1-15 and have the original OST names

You should be safer to build wherver you want with the most recent patch's change to how quest items work in POIs that have altars. Though keep in mind terrain chainges around where you build could ruin it.

Rule of thumb is to just not build in a POI during early access on your main save

There also miiight be a bug if you have your "enemy density" set to low when it comes to finding moths, I've been looking into it. If you have that setting set to low let me know (and that also might be why you're struggling to find them)

Especially poison, before it was effectively meaningless. Like, I didn't even carry antidotes because meh, I can just bandage and potion chug through it. Now I need to actually keep track and deal with it in the moment so there aren't worse consequences

From what I've seen so far at least, the complaints aren't about the status itself but rather people not knowing what to do about it

And any time you feel like you need to stop, tab out, and go to a Discord or a wiki is going to be a moment of frustration. As opposed to wanting to because you want information or to be specifically guided to a material, which some people do

And like, it's one thing if you're stumped or can't figure something out because you're trying to solve a puzzle to get a reward, but another entirely when you feel that way because of something that literally halts you from doing anything else

Maybe even have an explanation from the alchemist about new diseases that leads you to a quest to find lore that explains the ailments and unlocks the recipes, rather than it being a trial and error kind of thing where you don't even know about it until it happens

Well again, the dedicated server doesn't need to do much. It just needs enough CPU to process the players, enough ram to keep changes in active memory, and a solid network connection to relay the information. It's not rendering graphics or anything and fewer players means less demand for CPU, so if you're talking "me and a friend" you can run it on a toaster and be fine xD

There really isn't traditional classes. You pick skills at what you wanna be strong at. There's some synergy between skills but you are free to play how you want and you can reskill if you want quite easily.

Looks like I have finally reached my tipping point. Logged in today with my buildings standing but all my storage boxxes empty and all my gear gone. many of the upgrades to my buildings were gone and all of my NPC were naked like me. Logged out several times and still nothing, My Character says Im lvl 32 but my 12 remaining flame was back at lvl 1. i enjoyed this game alot but am not sure im interested in rebuilding everythihng from scratch again, thats a ton og grinding that took over a year to fill up in the first place. If any of you have any suggestions on how to fix it please let me know and I'll give it a shot, have relogged about 10 times tonight with each log in losing more items. not making any sense.

Eh, tbf not all of those issues have been exclusive to hdd - i'm on SSD and have naked NPC issue. Was also having an issue getting NPCs to place.

There is so much I like about enshrouded... but man I really can't wait for the combat and skill tree overhaul. So much work could be done there.

Also hard to get over how abusive relogging can be. Makes chests just a silly reward as they are now and end game weapons acquasition one of the stupidest things I have seen in any game 😂

Is there any way to limit the game's FPS?
It currently runs at 60, but throttles my GPU even on low settings.
I would rather have fewer frames but have an acceptable quality on those I do have.

I've come to the realization I wish we had a toggle to turn off the use of stamina for things like chopping trees and mining terrain. i just find it incredibly annoying that it uses the same stamina bar as running and climbing.

basically they have all the items in the game so if you dont want to spend hours harvesting material you can just use them.

Im not a super fancy builder, what I did was found a middle spot between the towers to avoid having any fast travel points too close to each other, and build a floating island close enough to the ground that I can make use of the land beneath it as well.

not really, I just have it floating, i didnt want to mess with the point. im always super hesitant to change the land too much.

I basically copied my original first building where i stuffed everything in one place and increased it's size. the current issue with my layout though is that the balcony kind of overlooks my storage area but it does also look out towards the pillars of creation.

So, my partners both got the game. The only problem they have is that Deep Shroud is REALLY hard to tell from normal shroud. Never used to be a problem... guessing that's something that got put in wiht the shroud update?

Details on where to find your save files, how save slots work, and how to manage them.

Save File Locations

Cloud Save (Default):
Open the folder where Steam is installed (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam). You can find the path from your Steam client menu under Steam > Settings > Storage.

Local Save (Cloud Save Disabled):

Save Slots & Backups
There are 10 Save Slots available for your game worlds.
Save Slots:

Backups:

  • Each slot has 10 rotating copies numbered 0-9.
    The file at index 0 has no suffix, but is still part of the rotation.
  • The game references the file listed in the -index file.

  • There is no distinct "primary" save—whichever file the -index file points to is loaded.

Managing Saves

Transferring Saves:

  • This must be done whilst the game is closed.
  • To share a save, copy the latest world save I.E (3ad85aea-7).
  • Dedicated servers only use Slot 1. Rename a save file to match Slot 1 if needed.
  • Files can be renamed to move them between slots.

Rolling Back to an Older Save:

  • Open the -index file in a text editor.
  • Find the line "latest": X (where X is a number from 0-9).
  • Change it to the desired backup index and save the file.

Additional Notes

  • The -info file contains metadata (like world name) but is not needed for servers.
  • Each player generates their own -info files when creating a world.
  • The latest world save files are what should be transferred.
    Ensure you copy all required files when sharing a save. For servers, only Slot 1 is used.

I hope they can change it because they will lose players for sure. Great speed and great hardware should be able for to load shaders. Something is wrong that they need to look into for the sake of the game. Was looking around my gaming communities and I am not the only one. A few of us did experience the shaders wanting to compile at every launch - turning off shader cache in steam fixes that though.
