the game that never dies is the game you can beat but it's so good you play the same thing over and over again, not because it has a NG+ mode, or is a rogue lite with new content each time, or it has stuff you missed, you're 100% repeating everything and enjoy it still. that's the game that never dies.

all games today are just endless content spams and i play them for 200 hours put them down and never touch them again for 2 years, despite not even seeing 90% of the content still.

They have stated that they are not against modding, but their main focus now is on the development of the game. Modding tools may come at a later date, but only once they're comfortable with the state of the game.

Hmm... I don't know if there will ever been a channel like that. Generally the actual devs don't come in here much, it's mostly the CMs filtering information back and forth. As far as water goes, they would like to put it in, but it's a tricky thing in a normal game to get water and its physics right. In voxel games it's much, much more difficult.

The #1 reason is actually because how weird a landscape feels without it. We're so used to seeing water all around us, unless you're in a desert or something... that having green without the blue is jarring.

I may go against the flow, but I like the lack of water. This is not Earth, it's an alien planet on which some areas underwent a severe ecosystem crash. Lack of flowing water, due to the lore, is actually great and a novelty, and adds to the overall desperation of the local population, particularly in the Kindlewastes.

At the same time, I look forward to when they'll add it in other biomes, particularly how they will mix it with the current lore.

They're planning on adding more NPCs, and specifically ones that will walk around your settlement and do things, it's on the roadmap. Keen specifically did decide not to host official servers, though. Official servers are generally problematic, especially since people expect that you'll moderate them (for which we have no current tools to do). The decision also frees up players to set things up the way they want it to be and play with their friends.

like just a nicely animated waving flat plane, surrounded with a special block/terrain A(at water level) that has the ability to create proper details for all angles, to smoothen the edges - once one of the blocks at the outer edges is destroyed, the new outer blocks could morph into the special block/terrain, and the water-plane would increase its size automatically, and vice versa

the water that flows to new areas with this, could also just be a extra layer of another water plane, which slowly moves higher until its reaching the rest of the former base waterlevel, and then somehow merges together

all blocks/terrain below the water level maybe needs to look different, but have the same function like the water level one, but behaves like the actual world(where the ground level is also just a plane, and everything below that only exist, once you dig into it)
So we would be able to also increase or decrease the size, somehow like a cave, but with the forced water plane on a specific level of the special block A
if that makes sense 🤷🏻‍♂️

but thats not all, we would also need something for waterfalls or creeks, horizontal water falling & horizontal water flowing

but no idea yet, what could be the best way to create this 🤔

The problem with staff is you cannot use shield to block and getting hit will disrupt the cast. I only use staff for long range openers or if I am on a ledge. Then switch to shield+wand for close range.

After 300 hours playing mage just now I started utilizing power punch and it is surprisingly useful. I put scrap metal on slot 5, punch blink backward and fireball. I just wish the punch were area effect instead of single target. Also useful for shielded enemy.

I feel like the disappearing xp bar is a choice; leveling in Enshrouded is a lot slower and less of a focus than most games. You get a lot more skill points from exploration activities than leveling.

i believe there is something odd about level system in enshrouded. Im not a big fan of levels in survival craft games, most weapon you find by exploring. Find the recipe and then crafting it should be more immersive. then legendary/unique weapons can only be found once in the world.

Yeah, I'd love to see weapon crafting improved to be more engaging. The idea of farming chests in the world to get your best gear isn't the most engaging. I'd much rather find resources and then craft them into gear. I doubt we'll see legendaries ever become totally unique, since that doesn't play nice with a multiplayer game, but I'm sure we'll see continual improvements to crafting and stuff.

Well, they're pretty significantly different types of games, so I'd probably not really compare the gear acquisition styles so closely. But yeah, I'm not against the idea of finding gear, but having it be the sole method you get weapons isn't my favorite.

but then you can combine them in 3 different ways to make 3 new things that are better or something

or if not that specifically, then some sort of upgrade system for the craftable armor/weapons/shields

Yeah, I'd love to see an upgrade style for the armor where they let you upgrade your sets through the "ages", and new ones appear. That way they can focus on diversity of bonuses from each set, and add new ones as you go along, but if you really like a certain set you can just keep upgrading it for each of the new zones.

Or there's the idea of decoupline set bonuses with visuals, make it so the bonuses are granted by "runes" or something that you socket into the armor. So each armor has a "base bonus" that it gives, but the main style bonus is from your socketed runes so you can customize them to your preferred playstyle.

Lots of different ways it can work, but I feel like the main thing I'd personally love to see is just a bigger focus on crafting your gear than finding it.

Yeah, interestingly I feel like the current system actually kind of cheapens the exploration feeling a bit. Because you know when you open a silver/gold chest that the item you're going to get is totally random.

And that makes exploring every POI kind of... samey? Because there's no particular rewards you might get that are different from another POI

i think one of the big issues is people have old gear lying around right now in chests and there's no armor stands yet? right? and even if there was the armor stands in games usually don't hold accessories, but also there is no way to decraft items to get half or all of resources back.

so without an upgrade system, or a way to get resources back or armor stands, you're just left with essentially old junk in chests that you've out levelled lol
