If you can, do what CUB suggested, try a third party server to see if you have the same issue (Possibly connection if so) If not, then, not being a technical expert, and if you both have similar laptops, it is most likely that your machines cant handle the game for multiple players.

The fact it's happening on both sides no matter who's hosting would lead me to assume it's connection/latency. Both their specs technically run above minimum even if barely. (I actually don't know the benchmark of the 4050 but I'm pretty sure it's below even the 3070) Vram is usually a culprit.

I started a new "mage" character on my existing game world so all the recipes are there. It's a little awkward not having the quest progression as a guide but everything is much easier

I am looking at the roadmap and I see items on it which I THINK have been implemented, such as the Hollow Halls Dungeons, Potted plants and round doors and windows. I am unsure WHICH are done though, because of being new, and I am trying to hype the game to my group of online friends. Many of them would prefer a more complete game. My question and suggestion are both that as these are completed could they be marked as done on the chart so people who are interested can see the progress made?

Yeah pretty much always with studios of a decent size there are many things being worked on at once, and the devs are all split into smaller teams/roles. Really big features can take all the attention of one team for a while, like our level designers being pre-occupied with the hollow halls for a while for example, but the team as a whole is probably working on the other stuff alongside it.

Generally you start with designers, then it goes to engineers, and they might bounce ideas back and fourth for a while, and at some point QA gets involved to make sure the stuff the engineers made isn't gonna make the game explode or something

I finished the game with a melee character, built and entire base. Then decided to make a second character to play the mage build. Didn't realize I could log into the same game world that I had already built. That was a very strange feeling running out of the Cinder Vault and seeing my camp there

Also the game is a little awkward because it doesn't start your new character from scratch. All the NPC's are there their quests are done, locations are all on the map. It's just all weird

So I am a little undcertain of what to do.

Minor suggestion: Add different models for the flame alter so that it changes in appearance as you level it up e.g it becomes grander in appearance the higher level it is

btw incase anyone didn't know, the flame alter does have an orientation you can see. The spawn point is on the side with a small area clear of any circles and lines

So if you want to spawn in facing your house or something that's how to do it

It's very subtle and hard to recognize at first but I tested it many times. It's there.

I solved those problem by building a larger crafting hall. They are all in that area and the magic chests are all in a row in the from where you enter

Well here is what I do. I have a couple of dump chests just inside the door to my player house. Every time I return home I just dump everything I picked up in there. After it gets full I leave all my personal gear in a temp storage chest then just "take all" from the dump chest and go down the line of magic storage chests and CTRL+R to drop off anything that goes in that chest. Once I am done I go back and grab all my personal gear out of the temporary storage chest in my house

I have a 1 square wide terrace all around the sides and back for the large crafting stations and multiples. This layout makes it very easy to add/remove/relocate things and all be accessable in the same area

I separately have some water in my main storage too for quick de-looting, but when i actively go to the wells and harvest it i dump it in the chest here

Problem with that is many materials are used in more than one recipe/NPC

I just keep them in chests with similar items, like metal scrap, ore, ingots etc in one chest, wood logs, twigs, in another, etc

food items in another, harvested plants in their own and so on

If you haven't tried it, MSG (Mono Sodium Glutamate) is a Chinese salt that jumps the Umami flavour of basicly anything up to 200%, and it's really cheap.
