I’m having an issue with Vencord on Discord Desktop (Windows).
When I use the Repair button in VencordInstaller.exe, the process completes successfully and Discord restarts showing that everything is fine.

However, after restarting and granting permissions again, Vencord still does not work and the issue comes back (the changes are not applied).

I have already tried:

Repair via VencordInstaller.exe
Running the installer as administrator
Fully restarting Discord

But the problem still persists.

Could you please tell me what I should do in this case?

i just updated discord to 1.0.036 from arch repo and vencord doesnt install anymore, i'd say this is not a user issue, because they don't build the app anymore in /opt/discord, they made it more proprietary probably thats my guess

ok so what in the actual fuck did discord do on linux, it seems to have moved from /usr/share/discord to /usr/bin (took me WAY too long and multiple reinstalls before i found out that i had a .desktop file overriding the default one with the /usr/share path lmao) and the file in /usr/bin is a... posix shell script? seems odd

anyways the vencord installer cant find the new path so what do i put in, the thing in #1257025907625951423 didn't work

nvm sorry i was trying canary at first and then i tried just discord but i accidentally targeted 1.0.136 instead of app-1.0.136

same problem with as stated above and in the known-issues, but i'm using pacman for discord and the "app.asar" got renamed to "_app.asar" after the latest discord update

can't use the temp resolve since the app.asar itself changed the name and i can't directly point the vencord installer there

might try renaming it first to "app.asar", patch with vencord and then rename it back to "_app.asar"
I'll give an update in a minute

Gonna throw this in, discord tar extracted to /opt/Discord. Been like that for months, extracted current version (stable 538472 (21650ee) Host 1.0.136 x64 (81691) Build Override: N/A Linux 64-bit (7.0.3-1-cachyos)). Usually the patch to /opt/Discord works but not this time. Trying to do it to /home/user/.config/discord/app-1.0.136 is also no go. Just throwing this out there. o7

I was a little bit confused before because the guide state /home/<yourusername>/.config/... while in my case I can't find the "<yourusername>" folder and the ".config" folder was hidden all along

and then i realized when i copy and paste the path, "<yourusername>" folder is there dispite no direct folder on home (apologize, I'm new to linux :'>)
