Just came here to let everyone know that we are still investigating the ongoing issue with Decor. It appears to be semi-fixed as per Thororen's PR last week that was finally merged. However the issue now is that only 'some' people's Decors are being displayed. It displays in the profile popout & member list, but not in chat. And even I cannot see my own decorations from the picker.

I am troubleshooting this with Thororen and hopefully we can fix this soon™

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

~~recently my discord has been very very laggy when using vencord. if i type out a sentence it will often only load the first 4 or so characters before freaking out and pretty much freezing , making it so i can not see what i am typing in the slightest without waiting for 10 seconds for my words that i have typed to actually show up. I have quite a few addons enable but none that i would think should cause extraordinary amounts of lag in mid-large sized servers like this one. if i type in any other apps or do anything else i am not laggy in the slightest, and discord isnt using excessive amounts of ram and CPU.

it only seems to be discord that is struggling to update the text box where i type.

If you see such an error when using VencordInstaller, chances are you are experiencing network issues. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the issue:

1. Check your connection

Are you on a school or work network? If yes, hop off that network and connect to your home Wi-Fi.
If that is not the case:

Can you even connect to the internet in the first place? Try going on https://google.com and https://github.com.

If none of them load, you have an issue with connecting to the internet. Make sure that you're actually connected before trying again.
If both/one of them load, your network provider may be blocking access to Vencord/the GitHub API. This is very likely if you are in a country known to control internet access. In this case, go to step 2.

depending on multiple factors it can either be just discord things or something else

discord loves eating ram if you're in many servers and switch between channels a lot, or dare open the gif picker/sticker/emoji pickers and scroll a bit

Welcome to Electron/Chrome, which is ready to eat as much RAM as it wants
The actual reason for that is because both Electron/Chrome are barely optimized at all, and often just allocate memory and don't even free it, and browser is too dynamic environment, and both have to handle tons of weird edge cases
And hardware acceleration is really fake acceleration in electron/chrome, all it does is just turns application window to be a 3D scene and just updates texture as it renders stuff
