Hey, so i decided to reinstall Windows and now that i try to install Vencord, it just doesn't install anything. Like i click on the install button, it says that my discord got patched, create the Vencord folder in my %appdata%, but no file seems added to the Discord folder and Vencord is simply not there

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

After a discord update, I didn't get an automatic vencord update, and vencord features stopped working. I downloaded the installer from the vencord website, and the installer could only uninstall vencord, installing and repairing buttons are greyed out. There is also a notification saying "Failed to fetch info from github, TLS handshake timeout". Is this a github api/vencord issue? My country is eager to block websites so I'm not sure where the cause is but everything else seems to actually work fine, including github's website and discord itself

Hello. I just got prompted to update Vencord, after clicking to update and also manually trying to reinstall and repair I am getting this. When I check "...\Discord\app-1.0.9213\resources" it only has an app.asar.bspatch. Any ideas on how to fix?

Thank you, this worked! Might be worth noting, for people with this issue in the future; make sure to empty the recycle bin after deleting the two Discord folders. Not 100% sure this is necessary but after the first reinstall when I did not empty, I still got the same issue. Tried again, this time emptying - and it worked.

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

Why is my Discord laggy?

The most common cause of lag is poorly written CSS.

To see if this is the case for you, try temporarily disabling all themes and your QuickCSS.

If that indeed fixes the lagging, you'll have to figure out which theme / part of your QuickCSS is causing the lag.Just slowly remove parts of it until it doesn't lag anymore.

As of now, I've not gone into the details so I apologize for the repetition. I know there's no ETA to life. I just couldn't make sure if the bug I'm about to report is already reported or no.

I've captioned the plugins I'm using, I'm also using a .css customized by chatgpt theme. (I'm not a coder if that isnt obvious by now)

The bug I'm experiencing; 'Whenever I hover to a server, I change the window on Windows 10 (alt+tab) my discord icon on my taskbar starts pinging.'

It starts blinking with the orange color, I tried disabling the the taskbar noti plugin, tried repairing with the Vencord Installer, all my servers are on complete mute. No chat notification, I'm just not sure why this is happening. It keeps blinking until I restart discord, and if I hover to any server again, same starts to happen. I just launched OBS and was about to record a video and changed accounts, I think it only happens when my streamer mode is disabled, not enabled.

If you see such an error when using VencordInstaller, chances are you are experiencing network issues. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the issue:

1. Check your connection

Are you on a school or work network? If yes, hop off that network and connect to your home Wi-Fi.
If that is not the case:

Can you even connect to the internet in the first place? Try going on https://google.com and https://github.com.

If none of them load, you have an issue with connecting to the internet. Make sure that you're actually connected before trying again.
If both/one of them load, your network provider may be blocking access to Vencord/the GitHub API. This is very likely if you are in a country known to control internet access. In this case, go to step 2.

2. Change your DNS servers

-# The DNS system is a system that relates domain names (google.com) to IP addresses (192.348.19.2). By default, you are probably using your Internet Service Provider (ISP)'s DNS servers, which gives them control over these domain-IP relations, allowing them to block traffic as they'd like. 3. Check your hosts file

Hey! I have an issue where while in voice chat, other people's voices keep cutting off for ~3 seconds every minute or so. Hi so I've had a pretty weird issue, some words keep getting replaced by phrases and I don't know why, I don't have TextReplace installed
The two I've found are "oki" being turned into "cut down" and "ena" being turned into "this"
They both seem to operate off of different rules

"oki" is always turned into "cut down", capitalising the O turns it into "Cut down", capitalising all 3 letters turns it into "CUT DOWN"
"ena" is turned into "this", "Ena" is turned into "This one", "ENa" is turned into "EN", "EnA" remains as "EnA", and "ENA" becomes "THIS"

All of these only happen if the word is the sole thing in the message, most punctuation as well as other characters seem to stop this. All of these except "ENa" ignore backslashes, e.g "\ena" is written as "\this", and putting spaces in front of the replaced word does not prevent them from being replaced.

This seems to be a vencord specific thing, a friend of mine using vencord seems to have the same issue and this issue is not present on mobile or for my friends using unmodified clients.

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

when i wanna Reinstall Vencord it just doesn't Respond. When i want to Install it says, has been Patched but when i open Discord theres nothing.

Make sure discord is fully closed before installing try forcefully closing it via taskmanager before installing

Discord is fully closed, So after a PC Restart i didnt had Vencord on my Discord, I tried to click "Reinstall/Repair" Loaded für like 5 Sec an then it said "Program isnt Responding" , When i clickt "Installt" it says that it has been "Successfully Patched" but when i Open discord its still normal.
