Why is my Discord laggy?

The most common cause of lag is poorly written CSS.

To see if this is the case for you, try temporarily disabling all themes and your QuickCSS.

If that indeed fixes the lagging, you'll have to figure out which theme / part of your QuickCSS is causing the lag.Just slowly remove parts of it until it doesn't lag anymore.

I ran into an issue where onboarding refused to finish visually (on this very server, in fact), something about a 403 error when it tried to send the onboarding form data

It's just that if you were to block the bot because someone who is harassing you or doing other bad stuff is talking though that bot, that would then unintentionally also block other people using the bot who you don't want to block. But yeah, maybe I should think about this some more and not have asked this, since the I haven't needed to that myself, and was just a problem someone else was having and I became curious if such a plugin exists for vencord that could help. i just tried downloading vencord a couple hours earlier and got a 429 error when using the linux download command .
it uses githubusercontent to directly download the install.sh file and it looks like githubusercontent downloads are starting to get rate limited (i had this happen with another often linked to file). I'm not sure if the rate limit is applied per user or per file, has anyone encountered this in the past few days?

alright found the cause, so for some reason when you enable transparency in vencord settings, it fucks the window up so

• the see the border outlines around the fullscreen Discord window
• the cursor changes to the resize arrow near screen edges (as if the window isn’t fully maximized)

I'm having a really weird issue, i cant diagnose it for the life of me. When i screenshare my discord crashes, but before this started my discord would only crash if i open someones screen or if i have someones camera on. Recently it came back after "stopping" and now i can watch screens but not screenshare or view cameras. (when i say crash i mean my discord turns grey and refreshes shortly after)

your best bet is to just not use opera gx. It is a browser with security holes everywhere and is probably the most resource intensive browser I have ever known. I know this is off-topic but you should look into using firefox
unlike chromium based browsers (opera gx) it allows better compatability, extension use, and has one of the lowest system resource uses

opera gx likes to lie a lot about its resource uses. It uses a lot more than you think.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.
Try going to your settings system > multitasking and making sure under Snap windows that the main toggle is on. Restart.

and/or just repair your vencord install, that should also maybe work

you can also force snapping using PowerToys but that is a whole 'nother ballpark

Im have full disk access enabled for vencord but it is still showing me permission denied and i dont know what else to do

1. Open your terminal app
2. Type sudo
3. Drag VencordInstaller.app into your terminal
4. Append /Contents/MacOS/VencordInstaller
5. The final input should now look something like this. Double check that you have everything correctly, especially the space.

sudo /Users/YourUsername/Downloads/VencordInstaller.app/Contents/MacOS/VencordInstaller

6. Run by hitting Enter and the installer should open. If it says file not found, you made a mistake
7. Installing should now work!
8. If you still get the same error, give your terminal app Full Disk Access and try again
