hi, i’ve been trying to patch my discord canary with vencord but the patch never works. every time i launch discord the vencord settings don’t show up. when i click reinstall/repair in the patcher, the patcher itself crashes. i tried reinstalling the patch on canary and the vencord client itself, but it’s still the same issue. i also tried ptb and the patch still fails.
(i don't know if it's called a "patch" but meow.)

Why is my Discord laggy?

The most common cause of lag is poorly written CSS.

To see if this is the case for you, try temporarily disabling all themes and your QuickCSS.

If that indeed fixes the lagging, you'll have to figure out which theme / part of your QuickCSS is causing the lag.Just slowly remove parts of it until it doesn't lag anymore.

if you have a vpn then that's totally normal behaviour

if you were say at a restaurant then you'd be behind a different router

a VPN does not change your signal, it just blocks the passage for regular non registered adversaries. And a resturant with 5 instances is still the same resturant. Again i mentioned the example of 5 instances or 2, however many you had, and those sending signals from 2 different places. A is still A just because you use a software to hide it. And if they dont disable A when B pretends to be A, thats rather sad. I thought they disabled it when such activity is detected. Also shoudnt move these topics to another channel?

Simply disable the "Disable Fade" option. You don't need to disable the entire plugin.

Hi, I've used vencord for a while now, and somtimes vencord's installation just disappear after launching discord, and as usual I tried to reinstall it today, only to find out that whenever I tried to reinstall vencord the vencord program freezes. Additionally, uninstalling and then later installing vencord shows the message of sucessfully installation, yet there's nothing in discord is being modified (the vencord library does not show).

Why is my Discord laggy?

The most common cause of lag is poorly written CSS.

To see if this is the case for you, try temporarily disabling all themes and your QuickCSS.

If that indeed fixes the lagging, you'll have to figure out which theme / part of your QuickCSS is causing the lag.Just slowly remove parts of it until it doesn't lag anymore.

I found out my problem with lag.

The Member Count plugin causes immense lag, and has solved my long standing issue of Discord freezing when typing above 20 WPS.
This should be looked into, and making that code a lot more polished and fixed.

I assume (without being able to look into code) this is because the plugin does not have a debounce or wait/cache time.

Because of this, it is either always overwriting data that has never changed (causes the lag) or it is always talking to the servers, every milisecond, which is also known to cause discord lag.

This needs to be looked into.
And I hope the devs see this message.
