Discord Desktop

Use the Repair button in the installer. You will not lose your Vencord or Plugin settings.

Right click the vesktop tray icon > Update Vencord.
If you don't have a tray, you can run the following script in devtools (ctrl + shift + i, then click on the console tab and paste):

iirc, you'd need to fork vencord on github and add your own plugins/code that way. This comes at the cost that you'll need to manually update your vencord to the latest version by merging from the OG repo into your fork. I was going to do this, but i realized it was a lot more work. I think it would be better to advocate for certain plugins/features to be made or added, instead of maintaining your own fork.

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

I'm sorry, ik requests are closed but I've been looking for something to accomplish this for AGES and now it's literally a feature in discord mobile but somehow not in the desktop app.
Can someone make a plugin for a gallery mode?
Where when you click an image you can click through ALL the images/videos in a channel rather than whatever is included in that one message.
On discord mobile you can do a search for images or other media and it will show all results as 1 big gallery you can swipe through rather than having to click 1 image, then click off of it and click the next image over and over again.

I can't tell you how many times I've been trying to look through some image posting channel and wanted this feature. I can't find this anywhere tho.

It's not as good as the mobile but it's better than scrolling forever lol (downsides: it includes all the text with a file/link and it's pageinated)

Why is my Discord laggy?

The most common cause of lag is poorly written CSS.

To see if this is the case for you, try temporarily disabling all themes and your QuickCSS.

If that indeed fixes the lagging, you'll have to figure out which theme / part of your QuickCSS is causing the lag.Just slowly remove parts of it until it doesn't lag anymore.
