if the ctrl + shift + i keybind doesn't work, it's likely because a different program conflicts with the keybind. This is most commonly the AMD Radeon Software. If you have that, disable keybinds in it (see the video below)

Instead of asking I tried to make a plugin and build, but after building and patching, I'm getting this error when launching after build. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

Hey,
I have an issue for a long time now (that issue came from discord itself not vencord) and at some point I had it fixed by vencord but I don't know how.

The issue is the little notification "new" in red in the top left or bottom left depending if the "new" notification (message, ping, etc...) is on a server on the left scrolling thing that's below or above forcing you to scroll to see that notifcation. However even after seeing that notification (message, ping, etc...), the "new" in red thing doesn't disappear until I scroll all the way at the top to see it not there anymore. It's painful to do that each time, even more when the notification is from a server that a the bottom of the list making you scroll all the way down to see the message then scrolling all the way up to make the "new" in red notif dissappear 😤

Any solution for that please ?

The plugin was pretty unoptimized as it was one of my first plugins, made when I had little knowledge about Vencord plugin development. I never went back to optimize it, so I never noticed it had that big of a flaw. I just updated the plugin to use DataStore instead of plugin settings, and ArrayBuffer instead of base64

Simply put, the newest version I just pushed out is way more optimized now and shouldn't cause any issues anymore

Why is my Discord laggy?

The most common cause of lag is poorly written CSS.

To see if this is the case for you, try temporarily disabling all themes and your QuickCSS.

If that indeed fixes the lagging, you'll have to figure out which theme / part of your QuickCSS is causing the lag.Just slowly remove parts of it until it doesn't lag anymore.

In the end, unless discord sneaked that into stable, that's still a reason to be using canary

The only places Vencord writes to are your user config folder (%AppData%/Vencord - literally every app writes here, that's where config / settings files go) and the Discord folder (to patch it). Uninstalling with the installer will remove it from the Discord folder

1. Has anyone discovered a way to force Discord to prioritize a specific voice server region, overriding the automatic selection? Ie: one of the Finnish or Swedish voice servers
2. Does a plugin already exist that lets you reset the voice server for their current channel session via a hotkey when the voice region is set to "Automatic"?
   My group, primarily located in Finland, Sweden, the UK and Germany, is frequently connected to the Rotterdam or Netherlands voice servers when using the "Automatic" setting. This is just annoying and for some reason the Rotterdam server has major packet loss for all of us compared to servers geographically closer to the majority of the group. While I get that the initial server selection is based on the first person to join an empty voice channel, the consistent routing to Rotterdam is just a pain in the ass for our group.
   A hotkey to trigger a re-evaluation of the "Automatic" server selection without having to leave and rejoin the channel would be so very nice if a direct server prioritization method isn't possible. Honestly I feel like this would have been better put into plugin requests but considering that’s dead and I couldn’t find any requests from the past asking for something like this so I felt this was the only place to ask...

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

Discord lagging

The most likely cause of lag is poorly written CSS.

If you are experiencing lag

• Disable "Enable Custom Css" in Vencord Settings
• Disable every theme
• Also remove everything in the online themes tab

If this fixes the issue, you can now slowly enable things again to see what exactly is causing the lag. Then either make do without that theme/snippet or ask the author to fix it

If you are still experiencing lag, make sure you actually disabled everything, even your favourite theme. Even a single line of CSS can cause lag.
