hey guys, does anybody face an issue on Arch Linux 6.13.4-arch1-1 where you have to close the vesktop window and open vesktop through the traybar to get vesktop back?
everytime vesktop restarts, it becomes a 0x0 window which is impossible to interact with. the way i found a "solution" is to close it through KDE's task context menu, and reopen it like usual. i updated vencord, and vesktop reappears like before - 0x0 window

The most likely cause is that your install is outdated. Check if there's any updates. You can either do so using our inbuilt updater, or if you cannot get there due to crashes or similar, use the "Update Vencord" in the Installer.

If you're all up to date, try reinstalling with the installer anyway!

Hi I've been having an issue with fake nitro plugin, whenever that plugin is enabled and I try to stream any game I had horrible fps drops every few seconds. game will go from 100+ to 20 then to 5 fps and then recover in few seconds and repeat this again.

Hey, I'm running vesktop on Ubuntu 24.10, and vesktop takes ages to finally show the "Loading vesktop" window.
From what I see, running Vesktop from the command line with --disable-gpu seems to fix the issue, but has anyone got any other fix please ?

For some reason certain videos seem to only have the first frame and not the rest.
This causes the videos to freeze and only play the audio.
When downloading a frozen video, It displays as an audio in the browser.

This has persisted towards multiple vencord updates, I just never asked for support here because I thought it was a Discord bug.

~~Hello! My Discord with Vencord install has been crashing repeatedly, though I cannot find the exact cause. From what I can see from the console, it seems to be from an error stemming from something to do with "HideMedia", continually giving me "TypeError: ic.has is not a function" for multiple lines. If more screenshots of the console are required in order to determine further, please let me know.

I should also clarify I have tried reinstalling/repairing and uninstalling. Discord functions normally without Vencord installed. I assume this is an error with a plugin I have enabled, though I am unsure which.~~

Disregard my message, I might be an idiot. I forgot HideMedia was a plugin, I managed to disable it and suddenly it works once more. Though I am unsure of exactly what causes it, HideMedia seems to be causing multiple TypeErrors that crash Discord. Apologies for asking about a plugin-specific issue.

On Desktop/Web:

Discord suppresses movie controls and volume from imgur links, making them function as silent gifs. Something that would undo that suppression so I can view them as other videos in discord would be amazing.

Has anyone worked out a robust solution for hiding the Library, Store, and Nitro buttons? They're a huge eyesore and I just want them gone. I've been using a really brittle CSS selector to do this, but it breaks every once in a while since all the classes have random suffixes. Surely there must be a better way than just using these hardcoded selectors.

It’s not exactly ignored, more like forgotten about (also, it’s marked as a draft and doesn’t seem to be in a “complete” state). You shouldn’t be surprised about this mainly because there’s there’s over 200 pull requests that people will need to look at and review on their own time, and PR’s like these can get buried.

It would get noticed quicker if other people (maybe like you) give feedback to the author, usually those and popular demand usually get merged the quickest (apart from bugfixes, those are instant)

It's not really a solution to vencord specifically, but I'm pretty sure you can change your server and channel settings so that nothing embeds ever. That will neuter fake nitro, which is the most obvious use of vencord. 🤷

If you are trying to use cloud integrations in the browser (specifically Firefox), it won't work due to CSP issues as the Vencord extension cannot correctly allow access to the API. There's no fix besides using a different browser or using the desktop clients.

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

unless you mean on a web browser app which, if you can use extensions on your browser of choice, you can, but i dont recommend that at all

Hi I have an issue where my theme is stuck turned on. I removed it from my themes folder and it is still applied.

My themes broke and now I can't open settings or disable them

open the dev tools with CTRL + Shift + i (Cmd + Option + i on MacOs) and click on the "console" tab at the top. Then paste and run (with enter) the following code.

It will

• disable custom css (you can turn it back on in Vencord Settings)
• copy your current theme links to your clipboard as a backup
• remove all themes

been having trouble with vencord, both from fakenitro emojis being typed out and wrapped in :: and seeing hyperlinks instead of emojis in chat

I select the emoji and then it looks like it's about to be posted but then it quickly becomes the text prompt
