okay i know i likely cant get support for this but i'm struggling to install vencord when building from source. I've pulled the latest commit from github and tried to rebuild on the latest pull both with and without anything in the user plugins folder, both attempts with no luck. any advice?

So... I have been having a ton of issues with my discord being laggy as hell for idk what reason.
After 3 months, I now came to the idea to check my vencord settings, and now I figured out that my custom theme was the reason for my discord being so so laggy.
Is there a way to fix this massive lag spike from Vencord using custom themes?

it would be in your %appdata% there’s a config just replace enabled: to false

that doesn’t replace custom vencord plugins as they search for specific packages and load in modules sometimes that no longer exist resulting in a error

that’s why vencord regularly updates once in a while because certain plugins break like ViewPfp, because discord changes the module location

Why is my Discord laggy?

The most common cause of lag is poorly written CSS.

To see if this is the case for you, try temporarily disabling all themes and your QuickCSS.

If that indeed fixes the lagging, you'll have to figure out which theme / part of your QuickCSS is causing the lag.Just slowly remove parts of it until it doesn't lag anymore.

It seems Discord, during their update broke screensharing on wayland (the same update that released native wayland screensharing support)

Technically yes, we have a very barebones app for android: VendroidHowever, it suffers from many issues and thus is not recommended for daily use (nor is it actively being worked on)

Instead, we recommend the following alternatives:

• Pyoncord (discord server) ~ supports both android & ios. uses the latest discord mobile app
• Aliucord (discord server) ~ android only. uses the old (now ~2 years old) version of the discord android app

So, everytime I install Vencord it keeps crashing my discord. I've had this installed for like a year now and just when I started messing around with my plugins and restarted. Then, whenever I opened up discord it said it crashed and no matter how many times I reinstall or repair it keeps crashing my discord.

Hi! I know this is probably not the right place to ask, but I didn't want to clutter the issue page.

Ok so basically the lastfm plugin: https://github.com/Vendicated/Vencord/tree/main/src/plugins/lastfm

doesn't properly track what I'm playing (timestamp goes on forever until I play another song).

When I skip forward in a song, it doesn't skip the timer. And when I go backwards, it instead continues forward.

Someone fixed it for the foobar2000 version (but i cant see their edits which is why I came to ask here). They added a progress bar like the one for the official Spotify integration. It tracks everything (skips, backtracks, etc.) properly and accurately too.

I would use their version, but it says "Listening to foobar2000" and I don't want it to say that (vencord allows you to change it to anything, I have it set to "Listening to some music" lol).

Also the vencord one takes a few seconds to show up, but the foobar one is instant. And if it gets a delay (sometimes), it doesn't start from 0:01, it starts from the current timestamp you're listening to.

the foobar rich pres isnt pulling an api its pulling from your pc so theres no delay in it at all

the lastfm plugin on vencord relies on the lastfm api (which is notriously slow), i havent had any issues with it not updating songs it usually just takes a few seconds to update what the current song is

the plugin that caused that, relationship notifier, stores a list of your friends, servers, etc... and then checks that against what discord says to tell you if any have changed

so when you havent used it in a while and then open discord, it pops them all up at once

I'm having the exact same issue as this fellow on Vesktop. Since yesterday's morning, Vesktop has been lagging out of sudden, on booting it up, switching channels, everything.

Tried reinstalling Vesktop on clean, no options changed yet, still got the odd lagging all of sudden as of yesterday.

vesktop on linux (wayland/kde, flathub package): screen sharing terribly hurts the compositor's performance. i get stuttery gameplay if i screenshare games. on the other hand if i use pipewire window capture via OBS there's no issues, even if i use the slower x264 presets. i also don't have that issue on other apps e.g. Zoom
not experiencing this issue with upstream discord. i also only experience that with screen sharing and not with webcam video

Hello everyone, was just wondering if it's a known issue or not but I've been having a problem with my vencord since around 3weeks ago, I only got 1 of my themes working for no apparent reasons. In this example the test theme is literally a copy paste of the random database background, but it just doesn't work. and it does this for every single themes that isn't the first one. the quick edit CSS is still working tho
Haven't yet tested to delete the one working theme to see if it transfers to another one or not. wanted to ask if the issue was known first
