Why do I get logged out after opening DevTools?

Discord tries to protect you from getting scammed by "hiding" your token when you open DevTools, which means it deletes it from storage and only keeps it in memory in order to make it harder to obtain.

If you now close discord before closing DevTools again, your token will not be saved anywhere anymore and as a consequence you will be logged out

Solution: Close DevTools before closing discord or better yet enable the NoDevtoolsWarning plugin which removes this "feature"

hello! im trying to remove this activities button from the voice call screen! ive looked on inspect element on the browser and found it under the aria-label Play Activities here. ive checked in browser and adding display:none; to that element is sufficient to remove the button, however, adding the following to quick css in vesktop hasnt removed the button, despite the same css with a different label removing the gif and sticker pickers:

hi, im experiening an issue where new messages never load upon opening my mac's lid and going to vesktop. this does not happen on discord stable with or without vencord. only way to fix it is by quitting & reopening vesktop or command & r'ing vesktop. might anyone be able to help? happens on both macOS Sonoma 14.6.1 & macOS Sequoia RC. it probably was hardware acceleration if i had to guess, turning that off prevents your gpu from taking care of discord which may cause stuff like this

hi, im experiening an issue where new messages never load upon opening my mac's lid and going to vesktop. this does not happen on discord stable with or without vencord. only way to fix it is by quitting & reopening vesktop or command & r'ing vesktop. might anyone be able to help? happens on both macOS Sonoma 14.6.1 & macOS Sequoia RC. and it was still listed as the most recent message 2 mins later when i opened the lid and touch id'd

Your Discord seems to have installed in the wrong place. This could be due to a variety of issues.

To fix it, click the "Take me there!" button and follow the instructions in the dialog.

1. Make sure discord is fully closed in task manager
2. Press "take me there"
3. Make sure you are in the discord folder, if not, go there
4. ctrl+a and delete (aka, delete everything in the folder)
5. Go back a folder (outside of the discord folder, it'll either be ProgramData or your windows username)
6. Delete the discord folder
7. Empty your recycling bin
8. Now open discord

• If it opens, cool, install vencord (make sure you are using the latest vencord installer from here tho)
• If not: reinstall discord (NOT by selecting Start (or windows key) > Settings > Apps > Apps & features, Finding the app you want to remove & selecting More -> Uninstall, but INSTEAD by following the instructions i will send u if u @ me and tell me the prior steps didn't work. you need to do it the way i will tell you as doing it the other way doesn't remove all of discord's files from your pc. once you reinstall discord with my instructions then try installing vencord again (make sure you are using the latest vencord installer from here tho). note the following about the vencord installer though:
  • Do not run the installer as an Administrator!
  • If you get a warning that the app cannot be opened, click "Run Anyways". You may need to click "more info" to see this option.

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

The easiest & fastest solution to most issues is to just reinstalll / repair Vencord using the installer. Don't worry, you won't lose your settings! They'll all be there like nothing happened once you're back
