I'm not sure these errors are even the issue, I tried to run vencord with VENMIC_ENABLE_LOG=1 like I saw in venmic's source code (https://github.com/Vencord/venmic/blob/main/src/logger.cpp#L49)
but the venmic.log doesn't get created

I have a very strange situation. I use catppuccin themes from the official repository on github.

They seem to be applied, but when I change them, the first time it is applied, and when I change it again, it is not.
And both themes are correct.
In the css file, just import another css.

I checked the changes in the css file, but they are not there.

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

I've had this problem for a bit and i finally googled it, so if anyone else has this issue here's what I did

issue: vesktop's icon appearing like a blank white page on my task bar/desktop/vesktop's icon missing/icon not loading properly/white tray icon

solution: navigate to C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local and locate the file IconCache (make sure you toggle hidden files on). delete that file and either restart your computer or restart Windows Explorer- whichever you find easier. Should come right back

Two kind of dumb questions.

1. Is Vencord completely open source? The word mod is used a bunch so i just wanted to make sure it's not just pulling the discord website and laying an another app on top of it. So is Vencord a complete reimplementation of a discord client?

2. Is Vesktop the "official" Vencord native app available on flathub? Vesktop is on flathub (which I'm interested in) and is under the Vencord org but the docs say to download the Discord flatpak if you want a snap. I don't care about snaps but I would have expected to see a link to the Vesktop flatpak instead so was kind of confused there. Just want to confirm that Vesktop is blessed by the Vencord org.

Let me throw this out there in the hopes that someone has had the same issue and figured out a fix.

I've been using Vesktop for a while now and it's excellent, however, the primary reason that I installed it at first was in order to be able to screen share on Linux, since Discord's support for Linux is notoriously bad and the screen sharing doesn't work at all in the official client. It kind of works, but not in a very usable way; when I begin the screen share, everything works fine, no issues. Then after an apparently random amount of time, anywhere from 5-20 minutes, it starts to get really choppy on the other end of the stream (my end looks just fine, but friends report it turns into a slideshow). And soon after that, it simply fails, turning to buffering/loading on their end.

In case the info is needed and to save someone from asking, I'm running Garuda Linux, with Plasma DE and Wayland protocol. I have tried adjusting various settings, such as hardware acceleration, to no avail. I also tried running in X11 instead of Wayland, but the same issue occurred. I did some research and saw a couple other people reporting this issue on the github page, but it didn't seem like the issue was ever resolved.

I've been having this issue for a couple months now and have accepted that I simply cannot share my screen through discord with this setup, so I'm not in any rush for a solution. OS : linux mint 22 , Kernel 6.8. Issue is as follow : Vencord initiates its loading UI and gets stuck in a loop (never ending loading window). Noticed behavior : Clicking on the vencord applet icon on the lower right opens up vencord however the app crashes whenever attempting to join any VC. The repair function was attempted and 3 restarts and reboots were attempted. Downloaded via flathub package manager for Mint (flatpack). Issue has presented itself starting today.

i use the same theme. reason its happening is cuz ur using the v1 of the theme which was depricated in favor of v2. to get v2 just put this link in the online themes tab: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/XYZenix/DTM-08/master/dtm-08.theme.css & click out of the text box to load it. make sure you turn off/delete the old dtm08 before u put v2 on your vencord. lmk if this helps :)

I've been having a problem issue in Linux (NixOS and Flatpak) - I can't seem to be able to share my screen at 1440p, I get a pw_thread_loop_wait() in a dual monitor set-up. Weirdly I don't have this issue in other programs like OBS or Firefox (Google Meet, etc).

hi so i used to use betterdiscord a long time ago before i switched over to vencord (much better client by the way keep up the good work), and i use a theme called Discord plus and i customized it to make profile pictures bigger than they usually are. I read that Ven removed the fiximagequality plugin because discord fixed image previews looking low quality and vencord doesnt rlly need it
so i compared the two and with uncompressedimages on bd, and i saw how much better looking profile pictures in particular looked with it on.

Is there any way i can force vencord to display higher image qualities for profile pictures or images in general?
Here are two images (first one from bd with uncompressed on, second one from vencord without) for comparison
