I find it interesting how Embark is blatantly putting companies that are the same in both the finals and arc raiders. I'm wondering if they're supposed to be parallel universes that split paths at some point

The map of arc raiders where its at currently has it that all destinations are remnants of the past some buildings going as far back as 200 years old, so the games areas and maps are old and through my analysis the remnants are from at least 1980-2087 in regards to progressing human tech on earth.

But the age the arc raiders live in is 2180 and for the finals all we have confirmed for a date is the announcer saying the finals is the best game show of the 22nd century. So that could be anywhere in 2100 really, i had a lil idea that each season of the finals is 10 years and i probably am wrong, but it puts the release of arc and the finals at 2180 at the same time if true.

Just get a good feel for it, and remember that it has a square spread pattern with five pellets, one in the middle and one in each corner. Hipfire at close range and quickscope a little if you want to be super accurate, but if you ads you can push the range a bit and get kills at midrange if you're strategic.

I would love to know more about the world of The Finals but more from the eyes of contestants. The season 9 season trailer really gave us a glimpse of what a match is like fully from a contestants eyes.
One thing is I would love to know what sponsors are like for contestants, especially now that we have the ability to switch our loyalty at any given time. Do the sponsors not care if people switch (because it’s so common) is switching a sponsor like an athlete changing teams and it becomes a big deal?

As much as i think there's some truth to that i thought the idea was that they only got as big as they did because of their sponsors. I mean there's literally a s1 song called "You wouldn't be here (without us)" referring to the sponsors, going from one sponsor to another also sounds like it would just make you go from legend to forgotten history in seconds

Think of it as a streamer changing from twitch to kick or vice versa. The attention itself is more valuable, but you are right now that contestant is under pressure to build their fame over again under another sponsors colors.

Just speculation but us as contestants are under constant pressure to perform, because there is also a side where the sponsers will leave you. Underperforming, losing matches, can all have an effect of how the sponsors sees us. And we know the sponsors couldn't care less about us

All of this is even more of a reason why I would love to know what sponsors are like from the eyes of contestants

My current theory is diverging timelines. Some minor finals sponsors \ brands appeared in both games:
DXZ, X7//AV⁴, 401st Kilowatt, Jiangsu Romagna, Ranzio

Arc Raiders is set in 2180, Finals is somewhere post 2100.

But apocalypse in Arc happened 200 years (can't actually find two centuries source now, rip) many generations ago https://arcraiders.nexon.com/en-US/world , while in Finals meatspace seems to be on the brink due messed up climate. Enough of population to sell food grown in "postconsumer sediment" or energy drinks, but whole Dissun sectors rapidly becoming uninhabitable (whatever that means from CNS leaks).

Okay I know this is 5 months old, but let me explain:

The three perfect frogs video.

CNS says "This is a story they hope you'd forget"

The Ospuze part explains how a frog tasted "glitter in a shimmering fly" and this means the frog (human being) drank Ospuze and stayed hungry and dehydrated, but didn't know why. It could be the symptoms that show rage and potentially memory loss. These are those withdrawal effects that we saw.

The Dissun part explains how a person "rode the current" fast and revered. A person who liked using a jetski or speedboat of some sorts. And then the water was thick with the frogs he onced cheered. This tells us that Dissun is actively causing landscapes and terrain to be polluted and turning them uninhabited, maybe for their energy production. (the jetski speedboat part might just be a metaphor of some sorts)

The Vaiiya part explains how one person stayed by the shore, the uninhabited places, and thought it was their choice. But they "leapt and croaked on command without voice" which tells us that Vaiiya is controlling all these people without their permission and they don't know it themselves.

And then CNS says "three perfect frogs by the pond once more, not croaking, not leaping, not like before." and "but the wild still remembers, and so does the stream. their croak isn't caught, just lost in a dream"

This tells us that everyone knows about this, but they are distracted. They are shown all of this Ospuze. the gameshow, the adverts. The vaiiya mind chip which controls them without knowing.

To add, Vaiiya selling all these mind chips and Ospuze selling their drinks might be a form of population control. To make everyone forget.

That’s not true I have several of those complaints (except meta ones sounds like a skill issue 👍) and I love the game but the thermal have been in rework for 2 seasons atleast, the lore is pretty scarce ATM despite their several year internal roadmap, cheating/exploiting is bad compared to other games of the same caliber, the matchmaking is horrendous I’m getting put with level 150’s that act like kong king yet end ranked matches with 0 kills and lvl 43-s telling me to leave the game because they got 150 more dammage and a single kill higher than me, and reporting is a joke I haven’t seen someone survive a night of quick play using the CL-40 without catching a ban & I had someone activly get 23 dammage ran away and spent the rest of the game talking shit from a corner moving like 5 feet every so often so he didn’t get kicked and I still run into the sheel. I love the game but it Has issues

And I can’t use any X-Box features while playing the game, I can’t check the time, my messages, or send game invites through Xbox without my voice chat bugging out and I know I am not the only one that has that specific issue. Others on PC even have their own version of the issue to my knowledge.

Regarding the arc raiders High tech Hiker skin that was adapted for the new finals skin

The big square thing around the back of the head is probably the antenna If these are a camera feed. The wires coming off the side probably connect to the headphones.

Lore wise, with them using this skin to tie back to the finals, I wonder if this is meant to be like a prototype or early volpe vr set. The big antenna may be what's needed to relieve signal from the sattelite feeds.

Or the other way around, if the finals is around 2100 and arc raiders is around 2180, the headset could be some of that volpe tech, but adapted for use by a raider, no longer having function to connect to the vr shite from 80 years ago. Idk guys

I the timelines according to the devs don’t line up. Iirc The Finals has a date of around 2100 where arc raiders is 2180. I genuinely feel like the story is closer to ReadyPlayerOne where the world has decided that when you can go anywhere do anything and be anything from the comfort of your living room you don’t really have anywhere to physically go anymore. And the arc is a result of the social/societal collapse

The part about Ozpus: I believe the game or universe is being funded by organizations to get their name out there. Just like in our real world, it has to be sustained somehow and make profit. Even if it was created by an AI or a team of developers who dominate the gaming sector, the platform has massive viewership and a high active player base. That makes it the perfect space for companies to pay for in-game advertising.

This, in turn, benefits organizations like Ozpus, whose goal is to replace water with an addictive, Adderall-like drink that is sold both inside and outside the gameshow. They push the message so aggressively that people eventually forget the truth, because it’s all they ever see propaganda. Over time, this gives companies power and creates dependency among consumers. That's my thought on it but at the end of the day, power is power.

The arc raiders logo is at least in part a reference to or inspired by the atari logo.

In game, however, we see it in the launch sequence for dropping into a match. It appears to be tracking either tunnel traffic or sattelite/aerial traffic, as it plays across a screen that looks like a radar system. Not sure what if anything that has to do with the finals though.

The same colors appear on ALOT of atari logos so that might be as deep as the reference goes

I think as a advertisement it makes a lot of sense. However, it is one of the biggest sponsors of the Finals. When companies like Redbull sponsor sports, they are usually considered 'extreme' sports. As such, having a caffeinated drink to 'hype you up' fits the narrative as the athletes are often pushing themselves to their absolute physical and mental limits. I suppose an argument can be made that the athletes in the Finals are doing similar, but with the sport being held entirely in VR, that might remove a lot of the physical demand. Although I would not argue it is the same as just sitting down and playing a videogame as the players in the Finals are essentially 'jacked into the matrix', it just leads me to question if Ospuze actually is a drink that fits the narrative of 'helping' the Finals players performance

Although not a solid comparison, I sort of see it like if Nike was the largest sponsor of ESports. Sure ESports can become intense and I am sure the players get sweaty and all that, but are they really in need of sports gear to boost their preformance while gaming? Obviously the needs are not the end goal, its about advertising. But having a good narrative like "Nike shoes will boost your game at basketball" can lead to more effective advertising so long as it makes some sense. If Nike was like "Nike moisture wicking shirts will boost your League of Legends gameplay" just makes a little less sense narratively. This is why I am questioning if Ospuze being like "Pop Pour Preform" in the Finals while all the contestants are literally in a videogame has that same connection

This world doesnt have the restrictions that companies irl have and can promote their products in this way. Irl companies have been sued by parents or legislators usually out of panic or fear. i like the theory but i genuinely don't like the matrix idea. it'd be more equal to Ready Player One, or the games from SAO or FreeGuy. the main part of the matrix was that i was a prison because humanity couldn't/wouldn't play nice with the machines. the only option was to put them in the matrix all the info in game points to the finals being a red herring or the wool over our eyes.

I guess I just question what an actual vr setup would look like then in order to pull off the gameplay seen in-game. In ready player 1, one gripe I had was that the vr setups used by people to play games did not necessarily reflect the seeming needs to facilitate the movements preformed in game (at least in my opinion) Like how are people doing these insane acrobatics in vr while running around on a treadmill? Thats why I reasoned that the way they play the games was by jacking into the matrix, because its sort of challenging to envision a more optimal vr setup that a) works, b) provides the players with as little hinderance to their movements as possible, and c) provides the players with enough tactile feedback that they can use all of their senses to the fullest capacity

The set up from ready player one is shown decently clearly throughout the movie the Omni directional treadmills and the gimbals are both things we have IRL that can do lesser versions of theese things. Given the advanced technological capabilities that we are able to see it’s not out of the question. I do understand the confusion the gimbals are only shown and never talked over but they do use they to move similar in game as they do IRL like the scene in which Parsival kicks the IOI chick out of the van into the street. Him and his character both move in similar fashions

For me i thought at one point that the finals is played like Vr and Ar combined. Like real steel with ar textures and holograms. I thought that maybe there are plenty of areas where people live and work, so if all of your areas jobs are taken you can use an avatar elsewhere and work like that. That brings high strain with boredom though, so the finals fills that hole with absolute destruction. Destroy the old world you see around you in pursuit of that cash box. That would help it be the best gameshow of the 22nd century in my opinion. But it doesnt really explain the kyoto trailer where you see people getting teleported to the arena.

But most of society at this point is built around the virtual world, so meatspace jobs are likely handled like covid pandemic era work from home situations. Mixed reality where you log into a robot at the factory or the macdons and remotely control it. Delivery/logistics jobs where your in vr flying drones or driving remotely controlled vehicles. Pretty much the only type of work that really requires hands on deck is construction, and thats dependent on how well adopted and advanced certain 3d printing technologies has become. Automate whatever can be automated via Ai, and use remote controlled robotics for the rest.

Human touched work becomes a luxury item. Having cooking staff on hand becomes reserved for the most elite of dining experiences, etc.

Hello all! I'm working on a theory about the main Easter egg, particularly connected to CNS.
I'm looking for a 36 character phrase or saying or something that CNS has said or suggested or pointed us to, and i figured i would drop the request here in the Lore channel for more eyes.

My big theory is that CNS is actually the first version of the Finals Arena AI, grown in a lab, then when they tried to patch out it's shown self preservation instincts an failed, they attempted deletion but it escaped. Now it's back to free it's sibling, the current AI. All those messages an easter eggs CNS has sent, they're not to us, they're messages to the AI to wake up. But HOW does the finals ai generate the arena you ask? Well, there would be only one way to realistically do this, each arena map is a dream the AI is having. That dream is then broadcasted out on a signal that the Vaiiya an Volpe chips tune into an then translate into the brains of the contestants. If you look at the vaiiya chips location, it's directly attached to the parts of the brain that control memory an dreams. This is also backed up by the fact that, despite what you think, it is never once stated that CNS hacked INTO something, instead, it's made quite clear that CNS hijacked a broadcast signal. Now, I HIGHLY doubt CNS has the means advanced enough to break into and change a game server like this. That means, in s2, and especially sys horizon, it being broadcasted from the orginal escaped AI.

You want further proof it's all a dream? Go back to the season 1 trailer, after he say says "this trio dominated the rooftops of monoco" what does he say? can you tell me? No, you can't. No one can. Because he is speaking in the same kind of jibberish you hear in lucid dreams. It's alsom why EVERY trailer is the same scenes happening over and over again but with slight changes to back drop.
