Where is this "the game is dying" sentiment coming from for so many people? I'm in North America and I've never had issues finding a game. And in literally every game I play most people are using cosmetics that aren't free. But I keep hearing that the game is dying, I don't get it.

I’m imaging it be a strategy game where each player controls one team. You’re playing Cashout. Dice are involved to decide things such as how much you can move, how much damage you can do to opponents, etc. the game comes with digital counters to keep track of how much time cash outs have left

on your turn each of your pieces can move and then perform an action. your movement speed is based on rolling a die and adding something based on class. ziplines around the map allow you to double your movement speed, and jump pads warp you somewhere else.
at the start of the game, each player can choose a Sponsor, which gives them a perk in the game. Volpe lets you TRIPLE your speed on ziplines, Holtow gives you extra respawn credits, etc

There's also a mechanic called "The Audience Vote," where whichever player is the most popular will get money every round (a round being every player taking a turn) and having ISEUL-T as your sponsor will make you start the game with bonus popularity

arena wreckage. the map is divided into sections, and when two enemies are in the same section, they can reach each other, even if they couldn't logically in the actual game map. certain abilities will indirectly cause damage to the area, or DIRECTLY cause damage to that area. if enough damage happens in one area, Rubble will spawn. Rubble takes the form of little blocks covering the board tiles. Walking on Rubble makes you faster, but makes it harder for you to aim or dodge.

each contestant you control has a set loadout decided by youat the start, in secret, but at Half Time, and at no other time, you will get the chance to switch it out. regardless of if your contestants are alive or not. also, that little digital counter? every time you press it to progress time, there's a chance it says to start an event. If it does, you draw a card to decide which event, and then it becomes active next turn.
Orbital Lasers means that your movement is MANDATORY, or else the lasers will get you, or you can choose to Bait the lasers to damage the area you're in.
Low Gravity allows you, when rolling for anything, to add a D10 to it. Everyone gets this until the event ends.
Meteor Showers spawns rubble surrounding the cashouts, Alien Invasion and Retro Invasion spawn their respective aliens, who create wreckage in unique ways. And Deathmatch still works basically as it does before.

Alright, I've got a new theory: IVADA makes the real world equivalents of the billboards that we see in the arenas. As we know IVADA's two main cosmetic sets are the City Lancer and the Urban Operative sets. Both of these sets use the same repeating dot screens for their respective headgear, weapon and contestant skins, and stickers as are found on the virtual sponsor billboards within the arena. On top of that the code found on the wedge trainers in the City Lancer set, D65 60/40, is a specific variety of lightbulb which again reinforces the idea that IVADA produces some variety of lighting. This also fits in with IVADA's slogan of the 401st Kilowatt and the billboard concept is reinforced by the fact that both of IVADA's sets share the same City theme which is the most likely place for a virtual billboard

My theory, which is a bit out there, is that the finals is actually some sort of purgatory where no real money is earned. There are multiple hidden messages from CNS saying things like "remember who you are" suggesting that maybe we were important for some reason outside the simulation. Also, several of the maps display the years they take place, which doesn't really make sense when the matches are all clearly happening at around the same time. Just speculation but I really think it could lead somewhere.

Meatspace June and Scotty don't live in slums like most contestants. After the massive CEOs of the sponsors they're some of the wealthiest people in Meatspace. The money in the finals translates to Meatworld currency. you can sell stuff in The Finals to other avatars, and also sell real world stuff to acquire gear and skins that enhance The Finals experience. CNS are normal but angry people who've over the years watched what happens when we neglect the real world and migrate to a digital world and they want to democratize the game, make it fun again. Folks would rather own a legendary skin than work a 9 to 5 cause it signals status (they can rent out their gear and stuff for income too: Vaiya makes sure it comes back safe but that's also something you gotta pay for. some dude steals your Epic Stop Sign Sledgehammer and it wasn't insured, that's on you😂 )

there's a lore wiki. Meatspace being the real world and Scotty being a former contestant are in game lore, everything else is me just tryna put two and two together... you don't host the world's biggest gameshow and not be richer than most people who watch or take part

I really do see CNS as just being normal angry folks who hate how money grabbing things have become. It's not fun anymore. It used to be a fun game but now everyone is doing it to eek out a living and the soul got sucked out of it. think Ready Player One vibes but with more emphasis on escaping the grindy life via getting good and getting sponsors to notice you (think elite sport, not everyone is going to make it to the olympics but if you do...). There's reasonably only a handful of folks who make it to the finals: most everyone else is fighting for scraps, but there's so much money floating around you don't have to make it to the finals to live a semi decent good life in Meatspace

My question is whether or not CNS is a legit sponsor too and how much of the population in 2100 plays The Finals, not just spending time in virtual reality

I just had a bombshell thought that’s most likely not true at all, but something clicked. You know how in one of the first glitched videos June says “the writing is on the wall, literally.”? That’s referencing the writing in the Monaco map, that says “S Lies”. S seems to refer to Scotty. But then it clicked. Some of the CNS messages say “seek the truth beyond the walls”. This obviously seems to reference the fact that we’re in a video game and CNS is trying to remind us there’s a world beyond the digital, but what if it was also referring to the writing on the wall? There are some inconsistencies with the CNS messages being plural walls and not singular wall, but maybe there’s something going on. I propose that someone wrote that message trying to get us to think that Scotty or whoever S may refer to is lying, and CNS knows that this is not the truth and is trying to make us understand that they do not in fact lie.

Again, totally not accurate or correct, but it’s a thought

head canon: June is a "Tech sis", likely worked for Vaiya or something before becoming a sponsor and announcer. As a kid she used to help other people playing the finals with optimal loadouts and in game strategy. Got onto the payroll of one of the sponsors for making scrubs pro level contestants. If she big on analytics and graphs like the wiki says she's probably not someone who was on the ground. Playmaker type o' gyal

Yep I have a character something like this in one of my stories. They need constant guarding by a Heavy or they get wiped but they're the brains behind it all. you lose them, game is lost 😂

New Role for the universe that won't work for the game but, someone on Remote Comms (i.e Ospuze having dedicated Contestant Service Associates who provide on demand support for folks in a sticky situation)
