I know we're extreeeemely early in worldbuilding of the finals, but I'd love to know more how the world operates outside of the simulation, and I hope CNS will give a glimpse into that. Right now on the surface level they kinda feel like theyre not that different from just another sponsor. Hope some of the theories you have here will come somewhat to fruition. The finals is fueled by the blood, sweat, and tears of the less fortunate to keep the populace/contestants happy and unaware

Weapons stick around a lot longer than you might think. The standard issue M16 platform for the US military was developed in 1959 and is the base for the modern M4 Carbine. Both weapons have very similar functionality and are useful to this day. Firearms tech is very straight forward, the big changes happen with the ammunition.

There is no reason old guns wouldnt make it into a "modern" game in 2100.

Consider the Tommy Gun in 1920's America, this is a far more deadly (advanced) weapon that you can purchase as a private citizen today, yet everyone knows what it is and what it will do.

Edit: The above doesn't describe exactly what I meant. My point was that modern weapons have removed some functionality that older weapons made use of - in a sense we have gone backwards in some ways (firing modes/ammunition capacity) and forwards in others (weapon and ammunition design) while the basic operation hasn't changed much.

Obviously this only holds true for the citizenry (who would more likely be making this game), not the military.

I love that now we will have real life announcers but at the same time I can't pretend I don't know how much more versatility embark had with the ai models

S1- June brings it up again and again that the hacks might be a problem but Scotty says that NOPE, its fine and even the sponsors are fine with it. Holtow and OZPUZE didn't care.

S2- CNS got in, SYS$HORIZON, a map between the vitual zones wnd connected to yhe code, a CNS safe haven(?) was created. And at the same time Vaiiya was intoduced. CNS gave us glitched weapons to create more problems while Vaiiya tries to defend the finals.

Maybe this was mentioned before and it may be irrelevant, but I wanted to give my two cents about what I thought yesterday:
In the BP there's the "Scotty's to-do list" sticker with 3 items (outsmart opponents, steal cashout and victory dance). It might be related to "S Lies" (assuming S is for Scotty) and the "Just like Scotty" achievement, implying that he didn't engage in any fight during the match, stole the cashout in the most opportunistic way and then becoming a "legend". I thought it might be possible because RockhoundBlack mentioned in one of his videos that June sounded ironical towards Scotty in those post match conversations. (which I agree)

That question is exactly what I want to know the answer to its hard early on but it could be that they want to send a message but if that's the case the message would be right in our face and we could be missing it, think back to the message of theirs that says something about us breaking free and look at the name given to real life in the finals it does not give a very positive association so maybe they want to free us from vr but not yet since they need to take control of everything in order to make it fully work but hey that's just a theory fails to resist temptation a GAME THEORY!!!
