Hello, my friends! Bit of a personal announcement today! 👀

I have loved being here with you all for the past few months, between the Bean Meme in the Easter Egg hunt, the craziness of the playtest weekend, and all the truly delightful Wooper memes (I still have them and cherish all of them!)

That being said, next Wednesday, January 4th, 2023 will be my last day with you all! I will be starting a position as the Community Manager for Galvanic Games working on their upcoming title Wizard with a Gun. I'll still be around in a non-professional capacity so we will definitely stay in touch.

It has been a true pleasure and joy getting to work with and serve you all the past several months on THE FINALS, I've loved every second, and I hope to see you all in game someday!

The team has heard you, and we're adding voice channels to the server for contestants to chit-chat, game together, and occasionally comment on their favorite Nama Tama world domination theories. For the time being, only users with the Contestant rank and up will be able to join them.

On August 23rd, THE FINALS' discord server launched and it was CHAOTIC, Wild West style. And I got to know a lot of you through memes (The baby formula meme is a personal favorite ), banter, games, you name it.

▶️ Grab an egg, draw a face, and send it on an adventure! We want to see your photos of eggs enjoying a vacation in interesting places - sightseeing, going on a hike in the forest, or hanging out at a metal concert… Creativity and safety are the only limitations! 📸

You have until Wednesday to post your pictures, which gives you lots of time to participate.

We want to thank all of you who applied to our Content Creator program on Lurkit during the closed beta. The interest you've shown was overwhelming, and we cannot thank you enough for that. So many of you showed up for us that we struggled to meet the demand for access, and not everyone could join.

Right now, we have paused the Content Creator program and will return when we have a plan that gives you awesome rewards and benefits for being part of our content team. We look forward to providing the program again in the future in a meaningful and supportive way.

We also have decided to remove and rethink the Content Creator role on the Discord server until we re-launch the program.

So many of you made amazing content during Closed Beta! We can’t wait to design a program that honors your hard work. In the meantime, reach out if you have any cool suggestions!

Hey, Contestants!

The time has come to grow our team of Volunteer Moderators! Would you like to help us out, gain useful experience with server moderation, and rock a cool red color in the server? Make sure to let us know using the form below!

❕ Mods are required to be at least 18 years old, active in the server and have no major infractions, plus of course have some basic Discord knowledge and experience (we'll teach our chosen Mods everything else they need!). You'll find the full list of things that make a great Mod candidate in the form.

We're looking for someone who is responsible and dedicated, and who wants to commit some of their time to making the server a happy place on a regular basis - but also someone who knows when to step back and hand things over to a CM, or take a break for their own well-being.

As the name suggests, this is a Volunteer role, which means that you are not obliged to commit any more time to us than you feel ready and happy to. The form will ask you to name the times you're comfortable keeping watch and we'll consider this in our selection process, but it is not shift work.

We hope to bring everyone a little bit closer as we all WTF (Wait for THE FINALS ), and what a better way to do it than having fun with activities and challenges?

Starting with today's Give Me a Song, we'll unveil a few different activities over the next few weeks - and if you like them (please do), they'll continue on a regular basis.(Hint: some of them will let you earn cool temporary roles to flex on everyone else )

🔸 So, here's what you need to do if you're interested in participating:

• Head to id:customize and grab an Activities & Games role. We've created this role to help us get folks together and post updates during future activities - you can participate without adding the role, but having it will help ensure you don't miss a thing.
• Find our new **EGGTIVITIES **category - easiest way would be to go straight to #activity-updates . Note that when no activities are ongoing, this category may be hidden.
• Check out what's currently going on and how to participate!

Contrary to what you may think, he's not our bodyguard, at least not in the literal sense. During the Closed Beta, Chandler will be representing our anti-cheat efforts, supporting fair and fun play, and keeping watch during the test.

Remember: although in the Arena you will steal, sabotage and destroy, the competition still has its rules! If you see any potential cheating behavior in the game, make sure to use the in-game reporting tool or send a message to our player support.

Arvid is a technical animator who works at the intersection of animation and code.
Previously he's worked on games like Mirror's Edge, Battlefield and Battlefront. On THE FINALS he's part of the kinetic-movement-team, responsible for making sure that moving around the levels feels as smooth and good as possible.

Hey yolks!

We've cooked up a minor-major server change and want to let you know a tiny bit about how it works.

First, you may notice that we have a shiny new color scheme for roles. Most of them have shifted just a little bit (no, your eyes are not deceiving you), but our Mods now rock a beautiful royal purple 🔮 and Contestants are now orange 🧡 .

Why the changes? Where did those all come from?

• Well, after two Betas we are all quite familiar with the color palette of THE FINALS . The new color scheme is largely based on the team colors you'll see while battling it out in the arena!

🌟 Which brings us to a new "team" joining the roster -** the <@&1133322765194235904> role** will now be available at level 8, a quarter of the way towards joining the Finalists. This role will soon unlock Embed permissions, which are currently available to Rising Star.
We're allowing for an adjustment period before changing permissions - if you are currently level 8 or above, you should hopefully receive the new role on your next level-up. 🤞

On that note, Rising Star will now start at level 3, just a tiny bit higher than before, and Finalists now have the ability to use** external stickers**. Don't make us regret this! 👀

Final notes: We did our best to make all the roles legible on both dark and light mode, but there are no perfect solutions when it comes to things such as reduced color vision or even individual screen settings. I'd like to remind everyone here that Discord has an Accessibility section in settings that allows you to reduce color saturation or even disable role colors entirely.

For all things that start have an end, much like all jackdaws are evil, for this deer today is no different!

I can't really put into words how incredible each one of you yolks is and honestly, please don't ever change. (Maybe lessen the bullying, but that'd be a big ask ) You guys are really an oasis in a big desert.

I'll be taking my hooves to rest but in no way do I plan to be a stranger while doing so, as heartbreaking as it is for me to say goodbye.

Today marks one whole year since we opened the doors to this server and invited you all in to speculate, celebrate, and take part in our journey to THE FINALS.

We are in awe of this community which is strong, kind, and engaged. We have among us hardcore competitive players, lovable goofballs, practical yolksters, the mighty cult of the Nama Tama, Moolah supporters, OSPUZE guzzlers, ISEUL-T fashionistas, flame-thrower aficionados, maté drinkers, a dedicated team of inveterate deteggtives, sneaky flamingo delivery service organizers, agents of misinformation, a debate team dedicated to pineapple pizza wars, and lurkers who just want us to get on with it already!

During this past year, we've:
--Grown to an incredible 90 thousand members. 👏
--Come together for the Closed Alpha and two Closed Beta tests - if you've done all three, congrats and thank you! 🫡
--Collectively, sent over 1.5 million messages in the server. Wonder how many there will be by next year! 😵‍💫

You’ve all been a main source of feedback and encouragement for the dev team as they work hard to deliver THE FINALS to you. I want to take a moment to truly thank you for being here, and for sharing so much valuable insight with our team here at Embark, and for genuinely making this server a fun place to be. This is still just the beginning of our journey - we hope you'll see it through with us!

Greetings your eggcellencies! My name is Zeke and I’m here to serve the great egg and THE FINALS community! I’ve been working in games for more than 10 years in some real exciting places like Paradox Interactive and Raw Fury (I also worked together with the illustrious Rob and a slew of other Embarkers back at DICE WAY back when). Who cares about the past though when so many cool things are in our future! I’m insanely excited to join you all in cheering on the release (don’t ask me for the date.) of THE FINALS as well as staying with you as it’s out! 🫡

Our new patch is not the only exciting thing we've prepared for you today. As the game evolves, so does our Discord server, and today's changes follow your feedback to make it an even better place to hang out!

🔸 First off - Voice Channels are live! 🔊
You can find all the instructions in #vc-info-rules .
At the moment, yolks with the Rising Star role and up can create new VCs. Existing VCs can also be joined by those with the Contestant role. We have a limit of 48 channels with 3 participants each, which will be adjusted if necessary.

🔸 The second news is an overhaul of our Bug Report channels! 🪲
We will now be using #1201841543926005810 as our main Forum channel to report bugs. Please make sure to read the Guidelines before posting!

Today we are introducing #video-player-reports

We have always said that the best way to catch bad behavior inside THE FINALS is through in-game reporting, and that is still true!

However, we have also seen the power of this community. We want to use all of your amazing energy and passion to keep the game safe and help remove the worst offenders as fast as possible. In many cases, this will mean catching cheaters. But it also means catching people being abusive in voice chat and other bad behavior, which can take much longer to handle without video proof.

Thus, we have made a channel where we can collect your video reports and review them. This channel is only for video reports, as all other reports should either be sent in-game, or, to our Support team by making a ticket at reachthefinals.com/support

Here is how reporting works:

1. Go to the #video-player-reports channel
2. Click the plus sign icon at the bottom of the screen
3. Select “Create Thread”
4. Provide the details in the thread you create

Please read all the instructions on the page before submitting your video report.

We want our channels in this server to be dedicated to fun and not to hunting cheaters as a group, so the report channel threads will only be visible to the reporter and our internal team. We’ll check them regularly and handle them as soon as we can.

We know that bad actors can make the game experience much less fun. We want to actively combat that in any way we can. This is an experiment to see how it works, so please understand that this could change in the future. But heck, let’s try it together!!

They will be a chance to participate in something fun and unleash some creativity while you're not playing the game. Some of them may even bring a small reward with them

Some important info about this role:

We were really surprised when the entire apparel section of the Official THE FINALS merch store sold out in a matter of hours! We were so excited to open the store yesterday, and a bit anxious in terms of stock and selection. We did not expect this sort of reception at all, and now we’re restocking the store again as fast as we can.

We’ve also heard your requests for more payment options, more OSPUZE themed items - and of course - plushies! Plushies are in the works, but it takes a while to get them high-quality, ethical, and perfect! We’ll investigate the possibility of your requests while restocking the store for the next drop.

Please keep letting us know what you want. We started out basic to ensure that we didn’t make a bunch of things that would end up going to waste and to find local and sustainable solutions. The goal now will be to expand our offerings while staying local, offer things you ask for, and provide a more reliable stock that doesn’t disappear in a matter of minutes.

Those of you who ordered, make sure to give us feedback on the shipping and quality so we can keep getting better!

Although you see us Embarkers and CMs at the head of the server, many of the best parts of our community come from those who contribute their time to it. One such group is the amazing Volunteer Mods - server veterans who have brought a ton of positive influence to our community.

Since they started their work in the shadows at first, we now want to give them a proper introduction to kick the year off with some Mod appreciation.

@rustic swallow - Luke is our longest-time mod and core member of the Community Wiki team. He loves motorbikes, beans on toast, and his (other) favorite game is Elden Ring. He claims his music taste is non-existent and dislikes cars (the actual ones, not 🐱). Also known as Detective Luke, as he is able to find any information at any time.

@inner knoll - GToast joined us before our first Closed Beta in 2023, after finding THE FINALS randomly while bored and reading GPU changelogs. He likes cleaning 🧹 spam and trolls, playing Sledge+Goo Gun, and cats, but wants to clarify he is not a cat himself. Instead of fighting and being toxic, GToast asks everyone to instead.

@cinder nebula - Povich is a teacher by day, gamer by night, and lost in the woods in the weekends. He's been following the game since the very beginning, and before being a mod here, in Hyves.nl days, he was a mod of a community for 10k emo kids who wanted to make friends and go to concerts. Also an unofficial Stroopwafel supplier at Embark.

@coral fjord - Gia is a new addition to our mod team (but has also been here since 2023!) and our local sniper queen. She is also the mom of a little guy who shares his birthday with THE FINALS! Her favorite food combo is strawberries and purple grapes with lemon juice, and her favorite music artist is 6lack.

@dire timber - Smashel is a long-time Easter Egg Hunter and Wiki Lead Editor. He found out about THE FINALS through the first Closed Beta trailer and has stuck with our community since! You can find him in the arena playing the Spear, and don't stun him if you want to stay on his good side.

@tall bone - Snake 🐍 has been an active community member since finding out about our first Closed Beta from the YouTuber Levelcap. His playstyle is focused on healing and empowering his teammates (shout-outs to the WATCH clan!). Aside from THE FINALS, he is a huge Sword Art Online fan and proud owner of the platinum collector's edition of the light novels.

@mild cloud - Pitrex joined our server on the very first day when it opened, and has been with us since! He has been keeping busy over the past year - aside from being a mod in our server he also worked as a Community Manager for an Esports organization. He's an avid viewer of Twitch streams - in '23 and '24 he visited Twitch every single day.

@tranquil shard - Oak has been here since the start in August 2022, having discovered Embark games through RockHoundBlack's videos on ARC Raiders. He was born and lives in Australia but is proud of his Lithuanian and Scottish heritage. In the arena, he plays casually to have fun with friends, and his other favorites include souls and roguelike games - send him recs if you love those too!

@ripe basin - Marshall is a new addition to our mod team and unlike GToast, he confirms he is an orange cat. He's been playing THE FINALS since Season 1 and mains Heavy, but can play a bit of everything. He likes videos games, video editing, PCs and technology, cats (who would've known) and creating memes for the community. As a mod, he wants to ensure everyone has a good time in the server!

Our Mods are community members just like everyone else, so don't be afraid to say hi, but be kind!

@hushed silo (she/her) is a lifelong geek and gamer, bringing some competition to Nama Tama as yet another Egg in the roster After many hours in shooters throughout her gaming career, she has signed with Iseul-T and hopped into the Arena, where she can be found causing chaos as a slightly confused Light.

@eternal mantle (he/him) is a horror fan and grass touching specialist (loves hiking). An OSPUZE addict insta-locking Medium every game (some say he's never even looked at a Light or Heavy loadout), Screep can be found throwing lobbies by trying to channel his inner cowboy with the R.357.

Sunny and Screep are both going to join Marshall on work outside Discord, but you will be able to see them occasionally popping into the chat during EU hours.

• Enjoy hanging out in chat, helping out other Contestants, and keeping things safe and friendly
• Would like to gain knowledge and experience as a volunteer community moderator
  You may be a great fit for our Junior Mod team!
