depends on your setup, in general i'd say go with DLSS if you're having a nvidia GPU and go with FSR if you're having an AMD GPU.
good thing is you can always quickly change and compare the resolution methods, so just try them out yourself as there are too many variables to exactly tell you what is best for you

the moment i get an all amd machine I'm not even gonna think about windows or even if nvidia decides to make good drivers for linux i will immediately move to linux mint

but it's windows so :/

at least on linux i will be able to access a terminal in a black screen at the worst case and recover my os and save my files and shit

but on windows? nah you gotta reinstall the whole thing and wipe everything and should get external drivers for bazillion dollars or else all your stuff is gone

Honestly, I've never had anything like this happen. And the system has never crashed because of the program. Maybe it's Epic Games' fault

Try the option with a bootable flash drive and terminal. Maybe it will help. You can also run a system file integrity check from the terminal

it's just that moving from windows to linux I'm gonna lose on avg about 25% of performance across games and apps just because the drivers isn't that good as on windows

i have seen like 3 videos that compares nvidia gpus ob linux and windows and in all of them there was a big dip in performance across different games, those videos weren't so old too at the time i watched like maybe a month ago not that long ago

i truly want to move to linux, but my 3060 isn't already giving me that much performance on windows to sacrifice some for linux lol, especially when I'm on a laptop😅💔

i had linux mint for some time and had good experience with it, but taking full control of my laptop fans and gpu power draw and cpu too was a bit too difficult to figure out especially when asus is too lazy to make something like armoury crate for linux and just made a lazy ctl version

there are some differences, but it really depends on what it is, it is all perfectly playable though, it also depends a lot what you use as desktop/compositor etc, that can mess up things as well

I wouldn't be surprised if there is some performance gain for Linux considering how lightweight some of the distro's are compared to Windows but in terms of game support, a big chunk of games will probably need Proton and run a tiny bit worse or same though I haven't used Proton in years minus Steam deck but

proton is pretty decent these days i must say. anticheat/drm is of course an issue here and there, but generally it works surprisingly well. my partner switched to linux more or less entirely, and she is about as linux-savvy as my mom, and it works just fine 😅
