World Tour is Regular cashout renamed
its exactly the same as ranked however much more forgiving
-you can switch loadouts mid game
-you can't lose your score/cannot derank
-rotating maps
-and sometimes embark gives it weekly modifiers such as bringing back dead go boom or emoting after securing a cashout gives you extra cash

overall its more fun and less sweaty for the most part

and yes you get very similar rewards as ranked

yeah but you got to convince 24 people to queue it at the same time, we tried awhile back but everyone went straight back to WT upon realising Ranked is just a less fun version of WT

It's a lovely idea, but realistically it won't work, the skill gap between co-current players is beyond vast, which would be why playing OCE ranked would be significantly harder than playign ranked in any other server.

Also there are plenty of small communities across OCE that all run ranked.

there is enough people but only the dedicated/competitive among us are willing/wanted to play it
Oce United (the oce discord server) along with a group of said players tried to revive it every sunday but as we predicted it didn't last long because 1. only the dedicated competitive players wanted to queue it and 2. since it was a small group only the best of them will win and the lesser skilled will always lose game after game, understandably the 4 teams who kept getting first rounded didn't want to play anymore so the whole thing fell a part.
knew this would happen but we tried anyway

everyone else including some said players stuck to the daily OCE WT queue initiative

it depends on where you live and if you're willing to deal with semi-regular cheaters and harder games
East coast of Australia and New Zealand should get alright ping but it can get bad late at night for some reason.
West coast of Australia is weird, sometimes Asia has better ping or NA does despite it being further away from us than the East coast

regardless most agree Asia has better ping but harder games plus more cheaters and NA has worst ping but easier games
Europe simply sucks with ping, nigh unplayable

OCE United's petition for Embark to add queue counters to the game so people can actually see how many people are queueing for any given mode managed to reach Embark

with this feature along with some other stuff we mentioned will greatly help with our organised queue efforts and could potentially make Ranked viable and sustainable in the region in a few seasons IF they add it

however since the 2 major game releases and Embark making people frustrated by refusing to fix or balance anything because of Esports causing a massive decline in player count, we at OCE United decided to put OCE WT on hiatus until next season since WT games have been far and few in-between, we don't want to encourage people queueing for WT for an hour straight with no games.

ranked is dead in oce, TDM is erratic, powershift is active 6pm AWST onwards, we do organised cashout queues at 4pm AWST but that's been rough latety for a variety of reasons, breakpoint is dead and finally quick cash is eternal

its just that people would rather queue asia than wait a extra minute here

if they queue oce then we can all play ranked locally just fine

and for some the ping is just fine

OCE United did help set up organised Ranked queues with the help of some of the competitive players in the region but as i eluded to before with it being a echo chamber of skill in here, most found the games extremely difficult which led to fewer people queueing which left the hardcore games to queue alone which made for more difficult games then it died off

in hindsight we should have done solo queue only to balance out the teams and prevent 3 stacks from dominating
but of course people want to be in teams in ranked so it may not work out

that might be better, or maybe implement different times for different queues, like later in the day stacks get the queue and earlier, solos get it.
just an idea, probably wouldnt work out so well but idk

qc, powershift and tdm are still playable though
