Maybe this has been suggested, but I’d be interested in seeing a Sprout role that people can choose so it helps to know who is new? It could also be useful when you want to quickly check someones roles and get an idea how far they are/if they’d understand a reply or term.

Posted a few events for the week and weekend last night and by this morning they all timed out so no one could sign up anymore.
From my previous experiences it times out and sends me a dm at the start time of the events.

Most recent example:
Posted an event last night for this Saturday at roughly 10pm est.
At 8am est today, the event timed out with no dm sent to me at all.

And even for future live letters, we don't publish the whole thing because of rate limits (which is fair enough because every time we hit the button it's the equivalent of sending like 10k messages to different servers at once)

Is there maybe a bot command that could be added for these niche scenarios to point them in the direction to help them receive the help that they deserve?

I'm personally a big mental health advocate, and, I know this discord's primary focus is xiv and final fantasy as a whole, but there are some folks I feel who don't know where to go, or have anyone to talk to.

Glamour Dresser FAQ

"What is the Glamour Dresser?"

The Glamour Dresser allows you to glamour an entire set of equipment at once when in a city or town. You can find the dresser in your inn room at any of the Adventurer's guilds.

"How do I use it?"

In order to use the Glamour Dresser you need to first put the items you want to use for glamour inside of it. This requires a one-time cost of one Glamour Prism per item. You're able to safely take out the items, but you'll need to pay another Glamour Prism to put it back into the Dresser. After you have put in the glamour items you want to use for your set you'll want to click on "Edit Glamour Plates".

When the plate window opens up you can select the stored glamours you have onto the slots of the plate to create the set you desire. Once you're satisfied with your glamour click on "Save". You can now apply your Glamour Plate by accessing the Character menu, clicking the Glamour Plate button, and choosing the Plate that you have made.

Hi, I thiiiink this is the right place to ask, but I had a question about trying to set up Kupo Bot's 'reaction roles' on my server (the thing where you have kupo bot assign roles based on reacting to a post)

So I managed to set up a reaction-post, but the part that's confusing me is the emojis that you can add to it (for reacting). I tried to set up this emote for example :map:, but it doesn't work, so instead I just wrote 'map' (without the colons this time) and it worked, but it used an emote from some other server (a bottle, which is the ffxiv timeworn map icon).

I'm not sure how to tell what emotes I can use then? I'd hoped to just use default emoji's since I don't have nitro but I don't think that seems to work, I followed the wiki page but still kinda confused and don't exactly understand how it works

Don't expect prospective punters to research them themselves, but they more than likely won't.
You haven't even indicated how long the event is going to be, or if there will be any interactivity involved such as a Q&A session.
I get the reason why you are charging people to listen because it does cost money to organise these things and to keep this discord running, but if you want to make your pilot event a success, information about the speaker and the event itself is key.

I've added some further information. If the event succeeds then that's great if not we've learned this model does not work for our Discord server. In general we typically pay for everything we do out of pocket. We reject SE's offer for travel expenses, all prizes for events are purchased by members of staff, etc. But when it comes to inviting guests to speak it wouldn't feel right to try and "but you'll get exposure" them. If the events don't work for FFXIV then they don't work. We'll experiment with a few different ways to run them and appreciate any constructive feedback in the process of figuring out what works for our community.

out of curiosity, is there a reason that the fanfest 6.0 channel is nsfw locked? I know nsfw labeled channels do not appear on people running IOS on their devices.

I do not recall hearing ios devices are unable to access nsfw channels, just that porn-tagged servers are unavailable and i believe you have to access nsfw-tagged servers via browser first

That channel has had so many different names over the years, to make it more and more obvious what the channel is intended for. Same for how the channels and categories are structured, which has also changed numerous times in an attempt to provide some kind of solution to the problem.

Realistically, no matter what it's called or how often reminders are made about it's purpose, there will always always always be overlap there (and in other channels). People just don't pay attention or care.

IMHO, best solution is to just encourage folks to point others in the right direction. A bit of self-moderation instead of trying to repeatedly solve the same problem over and over, which creates it own problem of confusing folks with the periodic changes (especially when they aren't that visible, by way of a tiny thing in #announcements).
