I just got it set up. Wasn't able to play too much and I'm currently at work, but it seems fairly performant. I can get similar results to PS5 (where I normally play). 60 FPS in some of the field areas I looked at (mainly early Stormblood as that was where I was) and a solid 30 in Limsa (wanted to test population density). Of course it's just PC FF14 so you can mess with the settings but I was pleased with what I got.

Game looks good at native 800p. I recommend setting UI scaling to 80% for a bit more empty space for HUD elements while retaining readability. It said i had about 3 hours of battery with my graphics settings at like 80% battery? can't remember what it was.

For controls, I would recommend downloading a layout from the workshop that enables the touch pads to act as mouse similar to PS5. That said, the touch screen works wonderfully as a cursor, and it feels very natural to just tap on elements to select them ((N)PCs, moving windows, etc). I would also make sure to bind the virtual keyboard to a button (I bound it to L5) as I use it a lot and pressing Steam + X is annoying)

Other than that, it's FF14 on controller. I feel like I'm getting a 1:1 experience with PS5. Looking forward to trying a dungeon or 2 tonight to really test it but with the controls as they are, I don't expect any issues.

The only annoying part is getting it working. DO NOT use steam's launcher, even if you have a steam account. It does not work well with linux and has a lot of stuttering. There is a workaround however that is recommended and is what I had to use anyways since I have a copy straight from the square enix store.

Also the game cannot be suspended via power button, even in game mode, but this shouldn't come as a surprise since it's online only. My only real complaint is currently my chat window is very small due to the lower resolution of the steam deck screen. Making it bigger would overlap other elements, but it's not a big deal.

Splunk works like: Universal Forwarders on all endpoints and servers you want logs from, sent to a Heavy Forwarder which strips down the logs to only the valuable events, then sent to the Indexer which does the field extractions for the search head

Although you can send them to syslog or something too and then have that send to splunk if you want

Bc Splunk charges you based on the gigabyte of indexed* logs, so you're gonna get hosed on costs if you decide to literally send the entire kitchen sink even if it has no value

Splunk is even used for realtime data on Formula1 cars
