Right now I’m running Demon Armor, Immortal Lament, Vampirism, and Shadow Touch for 4th perk. For skills I use Blood Pact and Spell Memory. I wear full plate, centered on Dex with a little bit of knowledge, and use Hydrain to heal.

Any suggestions from other Platelock enjoyers? How is TM Platelock doing this season? What about 0-spell? I haven’t been on much this season but I’ve been feeling that itch to play demon again haha

I’ve had my fair share of duels against wizards and your correct if they catch you in a area where they have lots of space you are at a severe disadvantage.

Cover, and spamming dark bolt is your way to go, you are actually at an advantage if you are further away spamming dark bolt compared to mid range.

I am confident at some point they will add a player home as a new form of resource dump, that definitely seems like the direction we’re taking with woodcutting.

Iron doesn’t have many uses other than lockpicks so it could expand the importance of Iron in game for sure.

We already get pelts and what not from certain mobs, so those could be used for rugs and whatnot haha.

One thing I’d love to see but am sure is asking a little much, would be the ability to decorate your house with items you found in dungeon, yourself. I’d have a shelf full of Cyclops Mirrors haha

When they removed Solos and Duos (I am a solo player on USW), the player count tanked harder than ever and I legit got to know people in my area because server lock was still on.

There were maybe 20-30 ppl that I got to know by name, and whenever someone would see me in Goblin Caves, they’d say, “hey is that you Platelock?”, and when they heard my boots clanking.

If it does come down to it again, I will likely still be found in the Goblin caves as part of the last few hundred

I don’t need this game to be mainstream even to be happy with it, I’d just like more content and balancing

A bit of history with IM's communication and strategy:

At one point in time, they were very vocal about direction and were in here almost constantly. Then the lawsuit started and Nexon was citing Discord chat in their legal complaint. Devs got quiet; but their posts were consistently getting 15k+ heart reacts. Sometime around when the lawsuit got dismissed in the US for being the wrong forum (US threw the ball to Korea), they started communicating more often again.

But at this point patch frequency had already started to drop off - and new content started to get limited to the start of a patch / every other patch. Balance patches started to waffle and weren't well received. Player sentiment stopped trusting the direction (as it were...) and the community voice started to splinter into a billion issues. Buff rogue, nerf rogue. Buff wizard, nerf wizard. Add more maps, reduce the queues, focus on solos, focus on trios, etc. IM starts to receive pushback in chat and begins current radio silence; at least for the devs involved in balance or development.

IM decides they can't please everyone. SDF decides the goal should be making a game he is personally happy with. It's a bit unclear what that game looks like. Balance patches slow to a crawl - and often contain very few actual changes - since the view is that the community can't be trusted to voice good solutions to problems. Instead, the team starts focusing on content development; new, shiny things.

And we've arrived. We don't get much feedback on what the new, shiny things will be. Probably because IM doesn't think community input will be valuable for alotting development resources. Occasionally there's a balance patch when the community starts to really boil over (I suspect Druids will be addressed in the 1/29 wipe). We only get loose info and a vague roadmap.

imo they should have never gone with a seasonal format during EA, should have wiped progression when they either needed to or when it felt right.

The expectations on delivering constant iteration, improvement and prioritization on certain aspects of the game on a routine schedule are unrealistic and unhealthy for the relationship between the community and the developers.

This is not completely avoided by not choosing a seasonal format, but I feel it is heavily exacerbated by it.
& I feel that the replayability and pace of development for this game would be in a much better place if there was no seasons requiring content holding back a naturally timed progression wipe.
