the devs are going to make the trade chats cleaner. only allowing items that are relevant to the chat to be sold in the chat. maybe there will be an auction house. i'd put that in the suggestions chat if you want the devs to have a better chance of seeing it

does anyone have any idea how the cleric ressurection actually works? I've tried using it like 4 times last playtest and they all failed
Technically they were testing new races this last playtest by letting people be skeletons.

So when you go to use resurrection and you don't meet the requirement of knowledge to use the spells you will see that when you open your spell book it will be greyed out, thats because you have to many spell inside of your spell book, to get around this you will need to stack a huge amount of knowledge to be able to use it with a full rotation of spells or just remove some spells from the book at the beginning of the game in lobby. I believe if you want it to work right away with white gear you need to remove everything besides lessor heal, blessed and res in order to get resurrection to be used right away.
I think skeletons where more a testing of cosmetics not races.
I don't think true physical works like you think.
Someone told me is not extra damage, just converts from normal damage to true physical, in this case up to 30.
If a knife does 20 damage normally i think your fancy knife would just end up doing 0 normal
damage and 20 true physical.
Edit: Just noticed you said +30 true magic and where talking about some older poison mechanic, i doubt they where taking full advantage of +30 true at the time by this logic.
iirc true damage is simply added on after all other calculations
it's not a conversion from your normal damage
but it's also unaffected by armor, headshot, etc.
Is it set in stone that daggers won't be allowed to break barrels? seems like rogue's having the worst starting gear, lowest health and then not even letting them get any gear or healing items from crates kind of unfair when every other class can?
rogues have really quick interaction speed. so you can usually get to chest and body loot first. its a trade off
ive personally never had a problem getting loot as a rogue. you can still break pots and loot shelves.

The past playtests were all scheduled for one week but because so many people are playing the game they had server issues so the devs were nice enough to extend it (even over the christmas holiday which was really nice of them)

that link isn't updated. Knowledge makes you cast spells faster and is the best wiz stat. Pretty sure resourcefulness only grants interaction speed right now and is a WiP. (everything is a WiP I guess).

hey. maybe this question comes a bit late, but. in the last playtest i've noticed that when you sit in the lobby as a wizard and play around with your spells, you lose your charges. is that allready adressed as a bug or is it a feature?
thats true for all classes. I am not sure if its an intended design but any ability or consumable used in the lobby will be used up when you enter the dungeon
this is true for arrows in a quiver. all spells, any ability with limited uses ex. the fighters second wind
well. i could understand that for normal consumables like potions and stuff... but spells?

My question is why do you have stat changes to skins? It's a very slippery slope cause now every skin should have stats and now stuff like orcs and elves will of course be better on different classes. Keep it all the same, remove stat changes to skins
it was done last playtest as actually a nerf to the skeleton skin because the devs knew people would use it for the element of surprise. also if you mean racial traits for elves and orcs and such thats not in the game yet but I fail to see how it is a slippery slope as those will be something that you pick like your class.
everyone will have equal opportunity to make the most "specialized" build if they want. but it still allows player to have fun with the looks of their characters. you can also make multiple characters so if you want to do a meta build you can and still be able to make something just for fun.
Well if they continue to "nerf" cosmetics thats a slippery slope, you'd literally never see that in any other game and say it's acceptable cause it isn't

Also, considering Fireball has a fairly decent radius explosion, even if it could be parried, you would still take massive damage.
Not super experienced myself with it, but that's just my immediate thought. Magic Missile doesn't have the radius explosion, so that is a possibility. Looking forward to see if it can be done!

Interaction speed is for doors, levers and chests. action speed is what bandages, campfires, and pulling out your weapon uses. I think this would cover potions but those might fall under magical interaction so I'm not sure 100%

I hope the devs dont listen to the solo que crying for when they start complaining their class isn't good enough for solo que. It's a TEAM based game. Your class isn't meant to solo period. You have strengths and weaknesses you have to play too in this game. Solo que is just going to be a pile of bodies in one area of ppl 3rd partying other solos

I just watched it, so here's a summary for those who don't have an hour.

Wizards will get a change (not nerf) as they are too much like Sorcerers (which was confirmed future class), probably a shift of Will points into Knowledge

Separate solo dungeon with Troll Boss (max loot level Purple Epics). Very experimental, meaning they will be looking at the number of people who use this closely to see if they keep solo dungeons or not.

In game party finder and karma system (for team killers). Will be able to inspect potential party member's equipment. People who kill their team mates too frequently will get a red name in the party finder. Though they specifically said team killing is an acceptable action in DaD, so you will never be banned for that.

I dont know the exact values but yes smite gains the magic power bonus as well as +flat magic damage (not divine strike)

The above reasons seem like good reasons- it makes cheating/exploiting far harder to detect and undermines the current loot /progression system, even if maxed out at epic

As someone who plays solo and with a consistant 3 man I agree. Solo is viable, also the current solo que is not the final decision. It is a test to see how thing should be handled.
"feels like it takes away from the game" is a personal feeling. just because you personally don't like it doesn't mean it lacks merit, and you'll need something more concrete than "it feels bad to me"
as for cheating, it'll do absolutely nothing to counter cheaters
cheaters will just queue with randoms and continue to cheat, and likely teamkill and ruin their teammates' experience
One of the largest issues is it’s effect on ingame economy- it often creates abundances of resources as in similar games it’s far easier to obtain BiS
considering how difficult it is to solo the bosses and actually get BiS as a solo

Not true when looking at pretty much every other online game, unfortunately. Solo playlists tend to have far* higher rates. This is evident in everything from PoE, to shooters, to RPGs

Well seeing as the playtest will only be for one week and then everything wipes I don't see the problem. Again. Things will be constantly subject to change. As well as the fact that fewer inventories will be extracting from solo only lobbies due to the lower chances of survival against ai and the most likely lower number of portals.
so if a solo succeeds somehow they should be rewarded, assuming they never scale the content for solos

By nature, things like the reporting system and loot deviation are stronger and more easily addressed by only having one queue

party play is more successful and leads to more gold entering the market per run

a party of 3 has the same space to carry items as 3 solos, but also has the coordination to save certain items for each other, and the combined power to kill bosses and get the most expensive items

There is a button to mute the voip. Not sure about reporting though.
It has given the game a massive amount of free exposure that has expanded the playerbase and is probably a big benefit from a company perspective. The only real problem is when devs listen too much to streamers, particularly variety/drama streamers who are only going to play the game a bit anyway and are frankly, whiney gamers.
Its brought a lot of the community to the game and has helped grow a lot of smaller channels. But I don't think that the games development has been effected by those who stream the game. The dev team seems to be sticking with their original ideas pretty well
I agree. But I think so far the devs have been doing a good job sticking to their original plans and won't be easily swayed by outside entities

It obviously does. If people come to the game from watching their favorite streamer there are going to be a lot of people whose opinion is heavily influenced by that streamer.
Agree with DatPun on this. Even peoples playstyles are influenced by streamers. I don't think its a truly bad thing. As the more people play the more they will develop their own best suited play style even if they originally copied a streamer
As long as the streamers don't do anything drastic like weaponize their community against the devs and the devs don't let the streamers decide on game related decisions (which I don't think the devs will do)
I don't want to overstate it because I love this game, have faith in the dev team, and am super looking forward to this coming playtest. They could screw this game up five ways and it would probably still be my favorite game at the moment. But I do think if you look at the focus of dev time on a solo dungeon between last test and this one, and at them adding a bunch of blue portals after people complained in the middle of last test, that you can see community outcry does impact what they're up to. This isn't all bad though, Dev's listening to the community can be positive too.
To be fair, those decisions could easily be data-driven as well.

Oh I absolutely agree. When it comes to things like portal count I do think the public opinion should matter. Its when it comes to things like what class gets how much power and ability that it should be left to the devs.
Would you say streamers themselves play the game differently from normal people?
Definitely not. As a part time solo it was 1000% easier to get out as a 3 man or even a duo. Not to say that is the worst. Teamwork and cooperation should be rewarded. And a skilled solo who plays smart can be an absolute nightmare to a 3 man.
Depends on the streamers goal. A lot of the time streamers do one of two things. Kill hunting/leaderboard climbing. Or go for entertainment value by having a more non traditional strategy going into the game, for instance running 3 of a class in a party or making a joke build.
Some streamers play pretty similar to most of the player population so I fell like the current balance of how streamers play is definitely a positive thing for the game. It allows for those who are competitive and those who just want to fool around to have people to take inspiration from
Some streamers definitely play differently. They get handouts from chat, do things for entertainment instead of kills etc.. Asmon claims something is broken every time he dies and makes his youtube face. Moonmoon needs to be able to poop ingame or his life is unfulfilled. Streamer things.

They didn't say this explicitly but my my impression was that if you use the ingame groupfinder and play a round with someone you get an oppurtunity to rate them somehow which will either gives them karma, or takes it. And then when looking for group members you can see their karma. Maybe I'm crazy tho.

What is voip?
voice functionality is done in-game and not through third party apps like discord, also an option to speak to other non-party members in the dungeon and you can hear them as well, if they use the specific button for it. Also option to turn it off entirely if you don't want to hear/speak.

Realistically, no reason not to
you get the attributes and buffs that roll on your weapons only if equipped, so if you have an off hand and main hand weapon you should dual wield even if you only use one to attack so you can get the other benefits

That's fair, I agree there are more important features to the game but I feel with how popular the game is/will be and with speaking with friends and others who have played, Its not utilized well in its current state. Some have stated they just wont use it and take the hit to just sell to vendors over dealing with the spam
In the end it's up to players how they want to deal with it, personally i sell anything that has no good stats like + X to all attributes, + dmg on hit and so on, except longbows and any items worth more than 50, 100 gold, to vendor.

In the interview thy said they might make it so legendaries drop at a very small chance but right now they want to keep it at purples. but it could also go to a lower rarity. its the devs decision on what is fair at the end of the day

No new info on cosmetics. The next week will be f2p but the Early access in late April early May will be paid and then there will be a full release of the game this winter

lol I started playing dnd again after last playtest. got inspired to run a really difficult trap filled dungeon crawl. was a lot of fun. my players hate narrow hallways now lol
yeah it's weird I know, the tomb portions in skyrim and valheim are really bad for me in my experience with it...it's usually mitigated by a higher FOV but yeah
when i played tomb of annihilation, we just took a 10ft stick and hit everything until we ended the dungeon, skill issue 😈 . Jokes aside, that sounds awesome, hope you and your party dont suffer from rescheduling, mine does and its horrible
thats well and good. until the dm introduces you to an 11ft wall spike 😈 . we play once every few weeks. its not too bad. but def had a few sessions get canceled due to irl stuff. 🤷♂️

oh yeah. the best is when you make a pattern for about 3 or four traps. like, a certain number of arrows shot by a trap or a certain reach for a wall spike, and then change it up. throw in some extra spice.
Thats cool if you also do another pattern so they can figure it out somehow, and link it to info they find and such like riddles. Not like thomb of A, random patterns with no sense that you cheese with a stick 😭 .
I love playing with number repetition. 3's and 7's seem to be the ones my players notice the most. and 3's are perfect rn because there are three of them so I like to hide lots of 3's in my game for them to find that helps pull them towards plot

From what I can see no. Buff duration only effects things that are stat increases. as the second wind ability doesn't increase any of the core stats it doesn't count. very cool idea tho. would be interesting to see something like this as an option on the talent tree when that eventually comes out.

Anyone who is good with stats know if magical damage increases the poison damage per second on rogue if it interacts with a dagger with +2 magic damage

No presently everything is free and all skins can be bought with in game currency. It is the devs hope that the game will be buy to play with DLC similar to Dead by Daylight

DbD DLC's is p2w, its not just skins, they selling enire mechanics and characters. We have dozens of game with only cosmetics for money, DbD is bad example
Oh ive never played DBD I have no idea how it works I thought the devs used that as an example. I dont know of any extraction shooters that dont have you pay for advantages though.

Its specifically stated your name only turns red after multiple repeated team kills. a one off instance will not turn your name red

Uneven 16 players with 3,2 mans queueing, how long will the queue times be ?
Solo should have more players queueing since you won't have your group online a lot and since group q takes a while to pop, you might get bored and not even use the group finder now. Since solo has to be more popular then group, it will always seen as a positive in perspective of datasheets on devs. I doubt if they ever take a step back
Group queue will only be used by tryhards now due to long dedicated queue times which will only get longer over time, not ppl trying to have fun and chill with friends, which is what devs saw in "high roller test" as well, I cannot see how a group focused game could succeed in a split focus solo/premade setting.

I think you totally underestimate how many players their are. All modes will q fast. It's a play test let them test. Voice opinion after a day or 2. I'm excited for solo but will spend 90% of my time in 3s

Nah. So the Troll is a one person party map, you go in solo but there will be other solo players as well. Its going to be a mode like regular and high roller are.
