If so does anyone know if strength is just + x amount of hp for y amount of strength or if it is +x% of class hp for y amount of strength?

Because of the way things change so often between playtests we don't have set information yet. Strength gives flat hp, but whether each class will have the same unmodified base isn't known

they'll put up what they are wanting up on steam/ebay/craigslist and you can barter with them through those avenues. After the agreed upon trade you will get the game. This is so they can really get the community into the right atmosphere for the game

It's a T3 monster. There are a couple random spawns on the second floor, most of the floor 3 are the red 'elite' versions of their counterparts

If this is the case then maybe sage's have their own feedback channel. They can be a filter in a way for the actual feedback channel and people can upvote or downvote the sage's that way it's more practical and sorted feedback. I know the developers have their own agenda, but they also listen to the community. The filtered feedback channel may or may not give them ideas, but it gets them thinking about certain topics and could spawn other ideas. They also don't have to filter through all the nonsense in the channel.

The devs watch other channels and we discuss things as they are brought up. It's not a perfect system. I personally would love a feedback only channel, but people tend to discuss things and they use the discussion channel for general chat etc...

well that's kind of what i'm saying, sages would have their own text channel named like filtered-feedback. if sages are "truth-sayers of game mechanics" then they should be entrusted with filtering through the regular feedback channel, picking the most interesting and best feedback, and either reposting that idea or rewording it in their own way. players could then use this filtered-feedback channel as kind of like not exactly a poll system, but like if they would like to see it or not. this would give a relative idea of certain ideas and then you guys could discuss in your other discord about it and whatnot.

yeah that's fair and makes sense. i just know i've seem some good ideas that people have and some of them eventually get drowned out and then people can't find them unless scrolled up. specifically i know teasky has had a few ideas that are good and they just eventually get buried by others. could have the filtered feedback channel and if the idea gets enough thumbs up could eventually make it like a thread. just throwing out a bunch of ideas i think would be beneficial

Right now there are variants of each floor with different rooms, but probably not be procedurally generated.

If you have enough move speed you can stick your toe on it to trigger, and then run and crouch jump as they are going back down. Same process you can also do it by throwing a torch (Or other object) on it

Do crystal swords do viable levels of melee damage? Like as a last resort kind of thing can I just start stabbing?

If I recall correctly they did about 7-20 damage per swing before armor. E.g. purples did 20 dmg. You might be able to finish people at low hp or people who you outplay hard. Generally better off running or casting magic missile and trading.

The big differences between the different kits, as of right now, is the casting animations. Some are better for open areas, some aren't. Previously the wizard sword was way too strong as a melee weapon so it got nerfed pretty hard and then slightly retuned towards the end of the second playtest

Melee wizards generally go for dagger at the moment though with everything, that might change

Resourcefulness stated it's supposed to increase deployable speed, but as of the previous test, dexterity's action speed increase was applying to it. I don't recall if +resourcefulness actually helped in the test.

Officially the only confirmed class will be the upcoming Bard. We don't have any information on it at the moment. There was a sneak peek of other upcoming classes that are hinted to be the following (In no particular order) Artificer, Druid, Monk, Paladin, Sorcerer, Warlock

Kinda. The process is not public and isn't likely to be so in the future. The purpose and selection of Sages are those with a vested interest in helping test game mechanics, but also to help educate and explain game mechanics to new players to help elevate the cowmmunity as a whole

Well since barbs in this game just use 2 hand weapons, they don't have a third arm for a shield. I think that there's a parry system they're working on for all of the 2 hand weapons though, not certain.

For the berserker I'm pretty sure shout 1 which is savage roar increased your movement speed(pretty sure) and did something else that I don't entirely remember (possibly reduced enemy damage if you used it near them) . The war cry which was shout 2 felt incredibly useless, it attempted to give you like 25% extra max health, but it did in a small aoe circle around you so your teammates had to be right on top of you, not only that it lasted 8 seconds and did not directly buff your hp instantly. I'm not sure how this skill was intended to use, i guess use it then heal up to 125% hp ? but i dont think it would stay i never tried, felt like a bugged ability

What I got out of the Q&A is shields will have an impact mechanic that will cause a sort of stagger and the heavier the weapon the bigger the stagger off impact so you might not be able to block that 2nd swing of a 2h weapon

As a controller guy myself I did try my xbox controller last playtest and while I was surprised to see it worked, there are no settings for it in options to adjust the sensitivity or remap buttons. The turning was extremely slow and not viable at all

They're funded through development, so they don't need the money. If they release it now as a paid game, the internet will tear it apart and it will be critiqued as another cash grab just releasing unfinished for money. Take Cyber punk for example, I've heard that it's good now, and that it's a great mod platform, but whenever you think of cyberpunk do you think of how bad it was when it first released, or how it's good now?

Playtest 2 rogue could probably have done a solo kill if already geared. The damage on the double DOT was absolutely absurd plus potions not slowing your fast movement to chug.

If any class would be able to solo in his reduced form it would be barb with the Magic Resist. It would have to be good RNG because he couldn't wear too much armor and would need a lot of phys resist, or just go full hulk tank mode with stacking str and full armor and ignore adds

Make the Skull Key access a small 12 player map called the Infernal Vault - Have it show how many in queue and it launches with minimum of 9 players. -High Roller Lobby Achieved. Also, because of the way inventory currently operates, if only 3 or less players survive, a ton of that gear will be lost to the void forever.

Every popular looter shooter in the industry is using wipe cycles now. Tarkov is the premiere example and even mmorpgs like BDO & Runescape & PoE/Diablo have them.

Wipes usually last up to 6 months in tarkov so if you haven't completed what you've wanted to in that amount of time then that might be on you.. Wipes are good to launch big updates and bring back hype to the game where new players can start fresh with experienced players as well. Also who doesn't love starting from nothing again and working your way back up, the problem with tarkov is the quests feeling extremely repetitive and boring + you have to do them to get good weapons/ammo/gear.. Another thing that's going to help long wipes in this game especially compared to tarkov is the classes. Once you feel like you've played a class to the fullest and you're bored you can swap over and learn and max out another one. Such a good thing for the game imo

Name one extraction looter that doesn't have this exact issue, tarkov the pros and streamers have lvl 3 traders and raider gear day one, bored in a month, casuals get bored after a month or two aswell because they can't catch up or but in the same effort when getting rolled by these high geared people, high gear leaves due to staleness and such new people or casuals leave due to perceived gear diff and the difficulty of fighting these people. DnD will have the same issue without wipes, week one rush lich and farm gear, week two pvp and then boom the same exact reason wipes are good happens.

Cream always rises to the top, doesn't matter what game it is. I'm not a huge fan of wipes and starting over but if we get a little something shiny for how well we do each time, I'm good with it. It also gives newer players a "fighting chance" to try to gear up. I use quotations because odds are, they will still get stomped due to lack of game knowledge.

I think something you need to realize as well is that the game is so far out from launch that "week one rush lich" isn't exactly a fair stance on how the game will end up. So much unknown and lots of content we don't know about and a lot of time in-between now and the launch so I'm assuming they will scale progression accordingly. They will definitely have wipes for large scale updates, but a big part of the game is how long it takes to get to endgame and how the quests/contracts end up being implemented. Something this game already has over tarkov is that when you get to endgame with one class you can just play another so that adds for a lot of playtime and variability. The entire game state imo just lies on the quests/contract/scaling and finding a way to make it engaging and fun every wipe/big update so the community isn't bored and doing the same things every wipe.

As a player with thousands of hours in tarkov and around 7 or so wipes as well as 2k or 3k hours in the cycle and marauders. I don't think this game has to have wipes. Like marauders or hunt showdown they could have a "prestige" system that wipes you instead. Or do something along the lines of retiring characters and that could gain a currency to go twords skins or a special vendor that only takes that currency

imo prestige is just bad because it just kills the ideology of a loot game. i'm going to prestige so i can more reliably get access to higher tier loot but all the loot i just leveled up and worked for got wiped - no point in trying to get high tier loot when it means nothing and i can't do anything with it bc im going to lose it. i'm already rocking my best gear every raid so what am i making money for? i'm sure you could make a good system where you equalize that but seems just cloudy. i never played hunt showdown because as far as i'm aware loot practically means nothing in that game compared to games like rust/tarkov

Hunt is in the same genre as extraction shooter but is different as loot is all buyable. Also for prestige to work it would have to have a benefit of some kind. Like skins for example. If I prestige 5 times and get a gold wizard hat to flex on all the players who don't want to all the better. That way the game caters to both player bases. Cuz the casuals who don't prestige can keep their gear and progress while the top tier still have to restart to get ahold of even more stuff locked behind a reset. You could even tie prestige into a leaderboard or a ranked lobby style system.

yeah i see what you're saying as well i just feel like the system marauders has with prestige is terrible. and overall that's not the point i was tryna make, if you are playing a game where your loot is going to be wiped then what is the point of the loot? i want to fight over points of interests where the better loot lies. the reason i play these games is to have good pvp over good loot. getting out of raids with high value loot where i killed people and actually feel rewarded like it means something. i feel like you can be rewarded with good cosmetics through different things like high kills or high escape rate like they currently have with the leaderboards. for example, online raids in rust is like peak gaming for me because you're literally fighting over your entire loot or their entire loot that hours were spent getting. tarkov fighting on labs or fighting over killa loot or interchange tech stores etc

Leaderboards only benefit the game imo. Even on dark and darker you are going to get random players to join your lobby. If your goal is to be a murder hobo and kill everyone then that's your playstyle with or without leaderboards

regardless of marauders the whole point is that leaderboards in their current state if they dropped on game release it would warp the gameplay. you can't just think about "TOP or GOOD" players, the majority of every game is the casuals, people will watch streamers or "TOP or GOOD" players and copy their playstyles and then it becomes predatory on casual players. that is my whole point. both sides need to be accounted for. it's not good for the game if people are disregarding loot and just running people down for top leaderboard positions.

Think of it as having a roster. Each time you want to play, you pick your character/class and everything they have available to them. Equip them, buy stuff etc... Once in the mission you keep everything you have on you if you survive. That character is then saved to your roster and you can either go again with the same character/class or pick someone else

To me, it makes more sense for both the poison and bleed to scale off +phys and not +magic damage. Makes sense thematically, but also because having +magic damage would only effect a skill and not primary weapons/attacks etc

Figured bleed phys poison magic(could be a magical poison after all) so that you would have to spec around one or the other, if they both scale off the same stat then it would be a non choice and have less build diversity, I know everything is gonna change in the year till launch tho lmao

Only barbarian with perk. Fireball did not break them. However, you don't gain adventure points for breaking chests. I also want to say that it felt like the loot table was lowered by 1 or so when doing that instead of opening but I don't have a large enough sample size

If you want the stats from it yes or like it's attack pattern, but dual welding gives you the movement debuff of both daggers, I usually only use one or the other unless they both give good stats so I'm faster.
