i like muscle memory for cheek weld, 4 points of stability and getting a cheek weld in lets me do everything very very fast and very very accurately

when you get all of that down, you dont really look to shoot anymore, you are already looking where you will be aiming and you just hit your targets

however, my mk2 butt ended up the same size as the original, so imo it was designed properly the first time

I dont think is a skill issue, I entered to the game many times trying to adjust the gunstock and is impossible for me. inmersion is what I really found with GOT but this little detail really fucked me up. I have a sidewinder stock (works with 90% of the games with no adjustment or little) and here is not like I didnt try. i really did guys, tilled down the angle of the rifle, lifted or lowered insanly a lot. nothing. guys please fix this I really love this game 😔 .

Assuming you have a higher-end phone like an iPhone or Samsung galaxy. They have apps now where you can grab exact 3D models of things with your camera. Gathering all texture data and everything. You should try looking into that if you don't have the skills necessary to create the model. Then maybe you could be able to take that file from the 3D and use it in your printer possibly?

Why have the stock bended like that? Wouldn't it be better to have it straight so that's the pressure is evenly distributed. Now if you bring the stock against you it will put pressure to bend downwards, making it unstable.

The ghosts of tabor seems to have the most use friendly design for customizing the way you want your controller position to beHonestly out of every single one I've ever seen this one looks like the most diverse with it being able to have so many different angles on the guns that can easily be changed in any given moment which looks like a press clamp of some sort. And the controller can slide forward and backwards as an adjustment option also.

yeah until they stop using a known broken calibration system (used to little success in multiple other vr games), gunstock is pretty iffy on weapon variety.

There is this cool thing you need for calibration to work and it's called being able to grab the gun so you adjust for non-dominant hand offset.
No idea why these games don't just spawn the gun in your hands during calibration.

the biggest issue with the design that you have is that you've greatly limited the fine tuning range of your front controller. lowering the front controller makes dramatic changes in position in both a forwards and vertical position

Kobra VR sidewinder on Quest 2, they dont have a quest 3 model yet. it was freakin awesome and no clunkyness since its build onto the right hand and left hand goes free no magnets.

currently Im using Sinlaki regular model with Elite buttstock for making it longer and making cheek higher (just buy the elite its worth it) my off hand twists but maybe you'd want that for certain grips. its a little more clunky but once you get used to it its definitely really fun to use

Hold your hand straight out and adjust until the iron sights are lined up and feels inline with your controller

I saw one video saying that the potential reasoning for the gun aiming down at least could be because when your aiming it like you would in game set the but end of the gun to where it touchs your shoulder

There is a setting in calibration when you adjust with your right hand controller via the joystick that tilts it up or down so you can manually tilt it up that way

that tilt only affects one handed gripping, your fore hand is not affected by calibration

if the gun is pointing high up or high down its because your rear hand is higher/lower than your front hand, you can adjust that by changing the elevation in calibration which will virtually raise or lower your main hand

So far its doing exactly what I want from it. I had a few other stocks and they really didnt work well for ghosts of tabor due to how often you need to separate your hands. This stock imo is the easiest to connect and disconnect of stocks ive used. The magnets are insanely strong, stronger than any other stocks magnets ive used by a lot. I never have to search for where to connect it just pulls into place and snaps in very easily. Only issue ive been seeing I think has to do with ghosts of tabor stock calibration itself. Im getting some drifting from the sights when I aim down sometimes. I wont be moving at all, aiming very still yet my mights pull up or down. Ive tested the stock in a few other games and I havent had this happen

all you have to do is "calabrate seating mode" or whatever its called then you press down on the stick and it makes you squat. this is a workaround for using stocks and it "getting in the way" of picking things up

Question:

I have a rather expensive physical stock from Virtual Rifle Systems that I got over a year ago for Contractors VR. Last night I tried to use it in Ghosts of Tabor and although some tracking issues occurred, it didn't help that the game currently only gives you one weapon per weapon class to calibrate to. I may still have to go back and forth a bit, as when I grab the rifle the weapon does lift up some which means I have to adjust the angle again to compensate. For example, after calibrating all of different weapon classes, when I pick up the AK74U, its pointing too high.

It seems that the one-size-fits-all approach to physical stock calibration doesn't work perfectly yet. I would love to see a numbering system for forward/back/tilt-up/tilt-down/up/down. That we have numbers to work with subtle edits.

Also will the devs eventually implement an individual calibration for each weapon in-game like Contractors does? No rush, I was just curious.

The official GoT gunstock seems to be non-adjustable like yours. I'm sure the devs will try to push out a fix for non-adjustable gunstocks when their gunstock comes out.

So there is a little known issue that may be contributing to your situation. If you are messing with calibration and clear all calibrations, the settings file becomes borked. If you grab a gun and the front jumps up, you probably have a borked file. Only solution I know is to delete the playersettings.sav file and don't touch gunstock calibration. With a magtube or such, configure the physical shape into a line like the new ghost of Tabor model. Usually with just a little hand rotation most guns work. I suggest a rotation other than zero as I've seen that do strange things.

For future reference, on PCVR it's pretty painless. Just go to %localappdata%\GhostsOfTabor\Saved\SaveGames and delete PlayerSettings.sav If that is confusing, follow the steps here https://ghosts-of-tabor.fandom.com/wiki/How_to_reset_-Hold_crouch_to_open_menu-_option_if_disabled When you just delete that one file, you don't lose any progress. You just have to setup your screen calibration and movement settings. On Quest, you need a developer account to get to the same file. Alternatively, you can clear the app cache. Unfortunately that affects some things in game. This includes current mission progress, ammo loader contents, favorites, and maybe another thing.

If they change the game so that it deletes the entire gun calibration data instead of part of it when you click Clear Calibrations, this problem should go away
