The short answer is: At most blast sites, you likely couldn't stay long enough to get a lethal dose after 4 years.
Here is the breakdown of why, based on the physics of nuclear decay.

1. The Decay Reality
   Radiation levels drop precipitously after a detonation. Using the "7-10 Rule," by the time 4 years have passed, the radiation levels are roughly 1/10,000th (or less) of what they were just one hour after the blast.
   Lethal Dose: A dose of approximately 4 to 5 Sieverts (Sv) or 400–500 rem received over a short period is considered lethal to 50% of humans without medical treatment.
   The 4-Year Rate: Even in a heavy fallout zone, the dose rate after 4 years might be in the range of 0.1 to 10 millisieverts (mSv) per hour.
2. Calculating the Time to Fatality
   If we take a "hot" area 4 years later (like parts of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone today, or a hypothetical post-nuke city):
   In a "High" Fallout Area (~1 mSv/hr): You would need to stand there for 4,000 to 5,000 hours (roughly 160 to 200 days straight) to receive a lethal dose.
   In a "Standard" Blast Area: The radiation might only be a few times higher than natural background radiation. You would likely die of old age before the gamma radiation killed you.
3. The Exception: "Hot Particles"
   The reason you wear the hazmat suit and gas mask is that while the ambient gamma rays are weak, a single "hot particle" (a microscopic speck of Plutonium or Cesium) is extremely dangerous if it gets inside you.

Why does my game start stuttering after a raid? I've got a pimax crystal playing through steam vr, no background tabs, Z490-A Pro motherboard, windows 11, 32gb ram, and >50% ram in use during play, there's also no issues during raids or while loading in, only once I return to the bunker does the game break like this. I have to quit and relaunch the game to fix it, or start another raid which once I return to the bunker it's super laggy again. Also, on initial game start-up the bunker is fine and there's no lag.
