1. Make sure you have the latest GAMMA launcher (currently, v8.0)

If you don't have the latest launcher, use !v6 in #🤖bot-commands and follow instructions.

2. Temporarily disable your antivirus if you have Avast, AVG, Norton or Malwarebytes
3. Close Mod Organizer 2
4. Open the GAMMA Launcher
5. (optional) Disable "force git download" and "force zip extraction". This will make it go quicker.
6. Click "Install / Update" and wait for it to finish completely.
7. Re-open Mod Organizer 2.

if you're just a coder and not a unix expert it's easier to do stuff with GUI and mac has a pretty solid minimalistic cool looking GUI in my opinion
also the new M chipped models are pretty performative as well while being lighter on the battery consumption

although to be honest any system can work and it's just a preference thing, if you don't mind the bloat that is windows and you don't get distracted by it's design and other quirks you can just do everything on it
also windows doesn't really have a terminal

The problem is, Shell particle's redone mod doesn't work on gamma, it always throws up an error when you try to start a game.
