@drowsy depot Для того, чтобы открыть фракцию не проходя сюжет, можно написать greh/renegades/isg/z при старте новой игры, на экране создания персонажа.
Это может прозвучать странно, но просто "НАБЕРИТЕ ЭТО НА СВОЕЙ КЛАВИАТУРЕ", для этого не предусмотрено никакой консоли.

Для примера, если вы ПРОСТО НАБЕРЁТЕ на своей клавиатуре isg, и затем откройте меню выбора фракции, вы увидите иконку ИИГ. Тоже самое и для остальных фракций.
Еще один хороший пример, играли ли вы в GTA? Ведите "GTA код" в меню создания персонажа.

If you are using the backpack mod, that could be the cause. Some people's performance dips hard at various points, maybe even from the start.

The gunplay is more akin to the OG games.
It's not nearly as deadly as in gamma, there are mods that emulate the more brutal difficulty like unlimited

Playing on higher difficulties makes enemies harder to kill in a "bullet spongy" way and makes the economy harder.

I think its meant to be the way the zone "really is". Gsc refers to the original trilogy as "legends of the zone" games iirc, which i take as the original 3 being exaggerated (though based on true stories) retelling of events.

Yeah. It just leads to weird things like Strelok walking through Zaton to get to Swamps and memory holing the whole journey. Or the reverse where in CoP we walk across the entire zone from Zaton to Jupiter apparently. And the big one for me, imo, is Barrier now leads directly west instead of being the barrier to the north, making Army Warehouses kind of nonsense as the line holder it was lore-wise.

Though, I am not in the camp that thinks all changes are bad. I actually like how things are repositioned mostly. Especially compared to Anomaly where Rostok is far too central to the point that I hate playing anyone not allied with Duty. Would be nice to get Limansk back though.

Are you playing with framgen? Unfortunately a known issue that cutscenes and talking to npcs disrupts framegen inputs and sometimes breaks it entirely. If you have the ultra+ mod, there is an option for to enable input enable spam so that this is avoided

Nah, a lot of people just forgot how the original explanation regarding zone not makin geographical sense was "Anomalies did it", and that was apparently a good enough explanation - also the reason why you needed guides to move in CoP and why the areas where istanced instead of open world, just GSC working around the limitations of the time. Now that the limitations are gone, they've decided to make it similar to IRL zone rather than the patchwork it used to be or, better yet, how it is depicted in Anomaly/GAMMA, which is where the Zaton being high level area/north comes from.

Stalker 2 has tons of issues but map placement and/or retcons ain't it. The more I play GAMMA (again) the more I hate the weapon selection in Stalker 2

Jokes aside, I just don't like the selection and over time I think the ammo based damage is best than the tiered weapon selection for an open world that aims to be as dynamic as S2

One thing I will say though, I would replace GAMMA shotguns with Stalker 2 shotguns in a bat of an eye. Shotguns in GAMMA feel like crap.

I think Stalker 2's weapon selection feels "bad" with respect to a decade of CoC and Anomaly's mods spoiling us, mostly. Compared to my playthrough of CoP, 2 felt pretty in line with that experience gun-wise. But yeah, that is the nature of being such a late sequel in a franchise with a matured modding scene and fanatical fanbase. It was always going to be held to pretty high standards.

I still say, as a platform goes, Stalker 2 is still leagues ahead of CoP and Anomaly. The gunplay out of the box feels pretty damn good, and only takes one or two mods to get the ballistics feeling right in terms of damage based on ammo and such. It may take a long, long time, but I am pretty confident 2 will one day be the superior modded free play sandbox experience.

Though I do kinda wish about 30% of the wilderness had been cut down, and there had been just a biiiit more verticality to the maps. Like not cliffs and mountains, but just like, idk. The older game areas all felt like they had higher geography outside the bounds of their maps (obviously to keep us penned in since they weren't open world). Cordon's a good example of what I mean. The original map feels like a wooded valley. S2 feels like farmland plains.
