you will kill the mutant but the quest wont update and there will be no device on the ground, or sometimes the marker wont be on any mutant

the spawns change depending on how dangerous the area is, for example its the worst in cordon/swamps and best in radar/red forest/generators/cnpp

hey guys, quick question. I found an advanced toolkit, my first one. Is it better to keep it for now or should i hand it to my main technician? Would that increase his supply lvl? Or does that only increase by goodwill / standing with the technician faction?
has anyone run into the issue with the scientist makarov missions? I have to bring him 3 artefacts from the wild territory but it only marks 2 locations with only 1 mission artefact at each location
If it's your first one, it's way better to keep it for yourself so you can craft whatever you may need, and yes giving them toolkits increases their supply lvl
There's one more spot that's unmarked, but the game outright tells you where to look for it

It should only be 20dmg some guns can go up to 23 when you changed the ammo to 9mm

Btw, do we have any "backpack position assault" scripts? Had an elite squad of mercs, going straight to freedom base main building on army warehouses evry time i try to set up a stash and sort out all the crap that this place passivly produces. Never seen mercs even approach freedom base in vannila anomaly.

What population settings are your guys running? Feels pretty empty. There was only one guy guarding the entrance to the freedom base
the base populations have been reduced, the actual population settings wont affect that, at least not by much

i dont believe it uses the exact br system as the player vs npcs, no. though, your armor does have a BR rating, and ap rounds will still make you sad
i dont even know what br system is, but its quite different
in Grok's ballistics u either take 0 damage because u have enough armor and enemy doesnt have enough AP, in vanilla calculation is not like that for the most part

pip scopes are from the boomsticks and sharpsticks addon, but in anomaly they arent that great because of how much they affect performance

haha, yeah xray engine is very outdated, only so much you can make out of the engine. I'm getting a new computer with a better CPU for college very soon, so hopefully i can run the game a lot better than I am now, but i am not complaining i love this modpack already.

grok really doesnt recommend ironman on gamma, as turtle said most players find it unfun to get one shotted unfairly
@willow hawk thats probably none of my business, but unless u changed utils_item:
- this function already counts condition, not sure if condition squared is intended ;p
- also this function returns bone value by both spine+head if outfit has built-in helmet, i wouldnt rely on it
- outfits with built-in helmet (u nullify it after) aren't gonna give u any head protection, not sure about that one... but dont think built-in helmet is considered as slot 12
spine+head resist value apparently used for UI bars, it does more harm when used for anything else (because one bullet cant hit 2 certain bones at once)
its also used for tooltip resist which is ridiculous and i always forget to report it to amomale devs as bug ;s (reported, tnx for reminding chat 😄 )

Okay so in the installation it says NEVER TOUCH "sleep deprivation" OR "water deprivation" IN THE GAME OPTIONS. But I accidently pressed default when changing some binds in controls and then pressed reset

they should be in gameplay. the reset default button should reset all game settings to the anomaly defaults
if you want to reset to gamma defaults move the user ltx from gammaRC3/groks modpack installer/gamma/modpack patches/appdata to anomaly/appdata

how do you go about repairing the main durability of a gun that is very low from picking up off a body?

alright I knew about replacing parts I just didn't know that it improved the main durability while doing it, I've yet to get to a point where I could try it out

you need to right click on the gun and maintain, replace or clean the parts to actually increase overall condition
you can also use cleaning kits or lubricants to clean the gun
replacing parts into the gun using a workbench wont change the overall gun condition
thats why I was asking then, because it seems like every consumable has a lower end limit and if the gun itself is below that limit then what is your option other than just paying a mechanic
paying the mechanic is one option but cleaning the parts is another one

you can repair parts till 10% but only with a parts repair kit, not effective and its much better to just replace parts using a repair kit
you can get the parts repair kit from technicians after giving them the basic toolkit

yes, but some people reported that it can bug and some of the items can disappear, just to be safe place your own stash using a backpack
Now I just saw the message about the patched binaries in #🔨modded-gamma-support I remembered I had a question.
My only problem with GAMMA is that I had to instal an entire windows partition for itself, just so I could play as I use linux as daily driver. The thing is, vanilla anomaly or EFP that has a patched binary too, will run just fine but GAMMA won't. Any idea of what's different between both patched bins and what could be making gama refusing to boot?

the closer you are the more frequent the beeps are, keep running around and you'll find it, usually the packages are in bushes (hold F for it to pop up when you're near)

nah, npc jam chance being based on condition would be nonsensical
i.e. a 100% gun condition in the hands of companion might jam less for him that a 0% gun
you might want to watch videos on Anomaly mechanics in general since you seem to be asking about those a lot, Gamma is a step more complex

It is not the point to loot 100% good Stuff from any npc, what I asked is a technical question and I did not want to argue in this thread about how a modpack should be played, and why I play it if I set this and that so. But just to clarify:
Every dropped suit for me are below 20% condition. I get the repair stuff, I want to use the mod pack as it is designed but for me, it is part of the experience that if I kill a master stalker with any crap gear, it should be somewhat rewarding. Imagine they shoot 10 mags to you with a weapon, and after you pick it up, you can not shoot with it 2 rounds because it is so shitty condition. But the npc can make magdumps with it, this just ruins the experience to me, not believable. I wanted to finetune to a roleplaz experience, that to be able to believe, that the actual loot was useful to its wearer before I rolled a dice about loot condition. It is just part of the game for me.

did you manage to fix it? i know with one of the recent big updates leaves have been removed. but stairs, ladders and so on still have awful AA. i have the standard settings at 1080p resolution. after playing other games it bugs me so much in anomaly that I cant play for long.

What i actually have a question about; I'm trying to figure out how to zoom in and out with the optics that allow you to do so. Currently if I have the Leupold or 1P69 or Gauss, pressing grenade launcher button zooms in, but once zoomed in, it's stuck on that zoom. Even after dropping it.

and the grenade launcher button isnt zoom as default, its to switch to canted sight

iirc correctly, the variable zoom is affected by the gun the sight is on

a lot of sight functions are tied to MCM menus
such as Toggle Sight and that other one i forget the name of

I can't seem to get fast travel to come up when right clicking on places i've been. Haven't fast traveled at all yet so it's not on cooldown or anything. Does it disable when enemies are nearby? I'm pretty sure this place is clear of bandits now. Or can you only travel under certain circumstances?

there are multiple fast travel settings in your games' options menu. And yes, areas pda filter will cause issues with fast travel.
yeah, the actual right click menu wasn't coming up. When I tried a house icon that didn't have an area circle around it, it worked, and that's when i realized it was interfering.

But when i use check jam, their animation not play
I removed check jam animations
Because you can only unjam when the gun is jammed
And there's no "check gun > it is functional"
Because you can't unjam in advance anyways
And it leads to busy hands bugs
And other bugs like the one you have

Based on the type of jam and guns animation it will either way 1) play unjam animation, 2) reload, 3) play the fake unjam animation
5.56 has better ammo pen and better range
