It forcing ammo types that exceed the list of available ammo for a gun

I just make it a rule to not take in any 40/60 mag cases unless the gun usually takes it like a light machine gun.

in regular Anomaly I tend to end up with a ridiculous amount of equipment parts and plenty of stuff like broken flashlights, cards, jewelery and whatnot - and while I usually tend to repair guns and armors myself, I don't craft all the items... so I only set up my bases in places where I can sell basically every item to local traders
which limits me to only a couple locations in early game
so, a lot of those things are super useful once you disassemble them. GAMMA is very crafting centric. some merchants will pay more for certain things than others, sure. youll find out which ones will pay more once you play.

every faction has a "sweet spot" to set up camp in
so far i had to dissassemble most of the ammo, to make new ammo of the correct hurtie
for example if I want to play as clear sky in anomaly I can't really set up base in the clear sky camp as there's a bunch of different items people won't buy from me - and I'm pissed off by losing out, and on the other hand can't be arsed to go to cordon farm
so I always end up setting up base in the farm and it's getting boring

well, in GAMMA you should be able to set up camp in swamps with no issue. it has every variety of merchant. that being said, its super, super, super out of the way in the literal corner of world

personally, i often start as clear sky and end up making camp in Zaton skadovsk
its in a much better spot, and clear sky and loners are allied
loners also sell Warsaw pact items, while clear sky sells NATO gear
but they dont sell both
i personally tend to stay in early locations and enjoy life in the zone until I'm satisfied and decide to move over to more intense locations

depends on what difficulty you play on, for the most part. the toolkits are the progression gates
you will be "stuck" with light tier armor until you can get an advanced toolkit
then you can craft a medium repair kit with your looted goods and are then able to maintain a medium tier armor

My usual way of playing Anomaly is that the only things I buy from traders are: water, better backpacks, upgraded PDAs/detectors, RF transmitter, headlamp, maybe some other minor stuff. The rest I make and maintain basically by myself, sometimes helping myself by getting the most basic repair materials from technicians.

so, youll find that a great deal of that gear is gated behind Goodwill. every 500 goodwill, merchants from that faction will sell new things (after daily merchant reset). you will likely be able to craft whatever you need, cheaper, and faster than what the merchants will sell you.

First, your outfit needs to have room for the kind of magazine (size, i.e. small, medium, or large; generally outfits can have up to three / four small and medium mags, and fewer large ones)
then, in the context menu (right click) on a magazine you can "add to loadout," after which point it should be highlighted and at the top of your inventory

I recall reading that GAMMA has the funny little mod that lets you easily move entire stacks of items by pressing shift
This is a fantastic feature imo (which I also used myself a lot) but I've noticed it can be a little unstable
(in a different modpack) I've had situations where I used it to quickly toss like 300 bullets into my stash and lost more than 200 of them

No, the complete install is another way of doing it but it's not recommend if you "just" need to default your keybinds

You can simply delete Anomaly and GAMMA but please, keep the "downloads" folder you can find inside the GAMMA folder
That folder contains all the zipped mods used by GAMMA

When you'll install again GAMMA, before hitting the button for the complete installation, paste the folder inside your GAMMA folder
This way, you'll just install everything again
And won't download anything, because you already have the mods inside that folder

Ok so I’m confused whether this is a bug or not but I have been encountering clear sky members or other ally factions and I’m not in bad standing with them but something they open fire is it enemy factions in disguise or a bug?
Like there was a clear sky npc shooting at me so I went to loot him and he had mercenary patches on with clear sky armour on
You can find patches on stalkers, that's normal
are you wearing their enemies' armor?
if so, tear off that factions patch and you can wear the armor and your friends wont kill you

Just so I have this right, if I want to maintain an outfit/armor that's already in good quality, I can just top it off every now and then with glue tubes or whatever is the appropriate repair item, before the condition drops too low.
But to maintain a gun that's in good quality, I need to have the appropriate repair kit and routinely do a maintain part > clean [part] for every part in the gun?
You can do the same thing with a gun using whatever item that can clean, but it's only for the gun condition
When it comes to parts, you can:
- Replace them by hand (not the barrel), this will lower the condition
- Use a toolkit + repair kit + the actual parts you want to change and use
- Use a cleaning kit, so maintain part > clean part
You can also use specific items IIRC

On the singular part you want to "fix"
Right, but most of that primarily helps, as I understand it, when the gun and its parts need to recover a lot of condition
if it's already in 80%+ condition or thereabouts, maintain part > clean part is how you keep it from going lower
which for most guns means ~5 parts, so a full kit's worth of charges
so just maintaining a TOZ or a PM that's already in good condition is going to run for like 5k roubles
I know that's not a ton in the grand scheme of things but in the very early game it sure feels like a lot
You can always take out the parts and clean them individually with those specific items
And put them back by hand (this will lower the gun condition) of with a toolkit + repair kit

Anyway, I have a small bug on my playthru..
First quest in Artefact Hunters is bugged on my end... should I just cancel it?
I was able to return the first anomalous artifact to Kovalev, did a detour of like 10hs of gametime, and then went back to get the two other artifacts on their respective anomalous fields .... but when I want to give them to Kovalev it doesn't seem to trigger that I have them on my inventory, even though their respective quests (Find x anomalous artifact) were completed, so I can't complete Kovalev's quest...
Any way to fix this or yes, do I have to cancel the quest?
Maybe it's the fact that before I finished the quest, I found the other ecologist quest-giver in Dark Valley, and he already had the "Did you find the artifacts?" triggered. So that could have bugged this one.

In a hunt to figure out what has caused my FPS to halve from 80 fps to 30 fps since last major gamma update, I've disabled all reshade settings, but now whenever I load the preset back it comes on with everything unticked, is there any way I can re-download the preset?
Could this cause balance issues? I remember about some AI aim rebalance 1 or 2 weeks ago
Arguable. If you keep weapon tilt on, it'll be much harder to aim through and abuse bushes, since your weapon will often get hitched on bushes with that mod enabled.
The AI had received that rebalance to compensate for the fact that AI can shoot through bushes. You might consider enabling hardcore ai aim in the settings or something, Up to you

If dynamic relations is on, then it could go that way until about 3000 negative, then it resets to neutral.
Playing many times with dynamic turned on, it got too weird. I now play with it off so I don't screw up a playthrough (vanilla Anomaly).

If there is a ceasefire, then yes you can freely go in their base area, etc.
But goodwill with a faction and faction to faction relations are not the same
personal goodwill, usually over about 600 is good enough that no one will attack you. 1000 and you should be golden

I wanted access to NATO weapons so i became an ecologist and gained 1000 goodwill with both freedom and mercs
then I switched back to clear sky and tp'd to the freedom base
they killed me
same with the merc base
Yeah, you can go anywhere as Eco and now, even if yo uchange factions, you still retain the personal goodwill so you can still visit their bases.

If you do, that will keep resetting after certain events. As I remember, changing factions is one of those events.
I'm not sure why they are shooting at you if your personal goodwill with them is over 1000.

It seems odd to me, but I have also experienced weird behaviors with dynamic relations. Once, I was Freedom with full rep with Ecos, did a 'kill Duty' mission, and then half of Yantar was suddenly hostile to me when I went there. Even the professor. So, I guess it is an engine issue that is causing yoru personal goodwill to be overlooked or to be nullified.

They should not since you are naturally on good terms and you have great goodwill with them

Check your PDA map for his icon. If not, you may need to find out if you can manually spawn him. It's an issue that arises from time to time I've noticed.

It will be using the debug menu, and there is some setting or place in there to adjust faction relations and/or individual NPC relations. But I don't want to give you wrong information since I've never done it myself.

but im more of an ammo conservationist, and prefer a sniper/dmr
I found a SVD (custom), and SV98 (custom) but it has a fixed scope which sucks. And a OTs-03 SVU if that's a sniper as well?
Oh and an SKS and the Molot version as well.
so, the custom is slightly more accurate, like 4% or something, but the ots3 has a much better rof and a slightly more handling
as for the sks, its a great early game rifle (i always start with it), the molot isnt particularly great, if you want an sks, get the sks tactical

so for snipers, look out for the superb svds pmc and/or the barret
those are my personaly endgame goals for snipers
but if you are happy with a pistol instead of an ar, maybe look into dmr's as well
Shotguns are also nice snipers and x51 Ammo guns. Better than actual sniper imo

a dmr or sniper does the job much better than even the best shotty, plus shotties are supremely excellent at liquefying mutants using buckshot

there was that one fucking box in the church in great swamps that beeped as advertised and had nothing in it, I searched around for literal dozens of minutes, I even went as far as getting the world coordinates of stashes in that region and checking if there isn't anything hidden just next to said container but nah, there was nothing
But maybe it is somwhere around idk. There is no other filled stashes near that i found, but i recon that anomaly adds its own aditional hiding points
I presume you could either clear the signal or somehow force items to retry spawning with the 'execute command' box in debug mode HUD but some script magician would have to chime in here
this might be worth addressing in the modpack tho

I'm pretty sure you just grazed an electro near a rad patch and mistook it for rads damage

i noticed taking suit damage in pure radiation anomalies, but its way too little to be noticeable unless you stay in it for long
