@stiff scroll To clean your "Shader Cache", don't use the option in the Anomaly launcher.
Go in this folder: Anomaly\appdata, you'll find a folder called shaders_cache, delete this folder and launch the game normally from MO2, using your preferred DX.

Sorry, i pressed enter too early... I installed Gamma today, followed the instructions, installed new launcher, etc. But i have the same issue as some others: "Shader Compilation Failed". I managed to launch the game successfully once by doing this: deleting the shaders_cache-Folder in Anomaly\appdata and after that starting a new game in Anomaly (not Gamma) and created a character. Saved the game, did NOT delete the shaders_cache-Folder and then i could start Gamma successfully and create a character. Played 2 minutes and saved. After changing the resolution to 4k i got the same error. I couldnΒ΄t start Gamma until i repeated the steps above with Anomaly. Now i can start Gamma only following these steps, but the screen ist totally dark except i see a campfire directly in front.

@summer sage Make sure that "Bitdefender Shield" is off in Protection > Antivirus > Advanced. You can (also) resolve this issue by opening BitDefender and going to: Protection > Anti-Virus > Open > Settings > Manage exceptions > + Add an Exception.
Add modorganizer.exe, and all the Anomaly .exes (DX11AVX, DX11, DX10AVX, DX10, etc).

When you add an exception, be sure to check On-access scan, On-demand scan, and Embedded scripts, as well as Advanced Threat Defense. You can keep Online Threat Prevention unchecked.

To be extra safe, you can also add exceptions on the whole Anomaly folder and the whole G.A.M.M.A. folder. But you must add exceptions for all the .exe files manually, or else you will not be able to launch GAMMA.

1. Open your G.A.M.M.A. Launcher as admin;
2. Make sure all 4 checkboxes are enabled;
3. Click Install / Update G.A.M.M.A. and wait for the install process to be done;
4. Open your MO2 and check if you have any red crosses, make sure that you have #πŸ“577-mods-in-mo2.

This procedure does not remove saves, you're not going to re-download everything from scratch and it will not delete your progress, your saves are safe.
The launcher will simply check every mod in the pack, reinstall or fix them if you have red crosses and any mod that need to be updated - will be updated.

  • In case you want to save your in-game settings and modlist (because the launcher will revert them back to default), type !backup in #πŸ€–bot-commands.
  • If you wish to keep Reshade, disable the last checkbox before clicking Install / Update G.A.M.M.A..

  1. Collapse the categories in MO2, by sorting mods by Priority and close the categories by using the arrows on the left side (first picture for reference below).
  2. Screenshot your MO2 by using Shift + Win + S.

  2. Right click on it and select from the context menu Reinstall Mod
  3. In the FOMOD installer that appears, click Next
  4. Select the Grass and Foliage you like, then click Install
  5. Next click Replace
  6. Next, do steps 2-5 for the mod 388- Aydins Grass Tweaks SSS Terrain LOD Compatibility - aytabag

This will not work unless you reinstall both Grass Tweaks mods!

@unborn elbow similar thing to beastbro happens to me but mine fixed after I default all the gamma user settings but the second I change one thing in settings I can’t open the game. It shows the anom launcher and closes back to MO2. No error no nothing

2) Copy these four folders (check pic)
3) Go to your Anomaly folder
4) Paste these four folders (check pic)
5) Overwrite/replace all if asked
6) Go to your \Anomaly\bin folder and delete d3d9.dll and dxgi.dll files.
It won't delete your save files.

Instead, do this:

1) Go to GAMMA RC3\.Grok's Modpack Installer\G.A.M.M.A\modpack_patches\appdata
2) Copy the user.ltx file you'll find in there.
3) Go to Anomaly\appdata and paste the user.ltx there, and replace it.

Has anyone noticed certain guns not being at the right angle when you ADS? I just picked up a VSSK and a USP Match Overwatch and the both don't ADS right at the right angle with or without sights. Small thing I know but the guns look so cool, would be great if theres a setting I can use to fix it?

I decided to do the GPU device instance has been suspended Fix // AMD GPU issues fix in troubleshooting because my game kept crashing when using guides or changing zones or fast travelling, but now when I press the start button in the anomaly launcher it just closes and nothing happens, are any of these things recurring issues and can someone suggest what i should do next or where to look
I don't get an error message, before with the loading screen after switching locations there was a generic refer to logs something something error a few times, it does quicksave after the travel but if i try to load that save it just crashes again

@compact grove Yeah ask in this channel but a mod you are using is calling for a vehicale model that can't be found either because you haven't activated the mod that has that model file or downloaded the one with it and installed it through MO2. I've also had this happen before, might be something to do with the drivable vehicles in Darkscape as well.

Getting this error message when trying to start Mod Organizer directly or run via gamma launcher. Using 6.7.0.0 for launcher, 1.5.3 for Anomaly, have redownload & extracted Gamma RC3. I've run into this before but can't remember how I got around it in the past 😞 . The MO instance doesn't seem to recognize that Anomaly is installed in the folder or that it is a valid supported games. Anyone have ideas or do I need to do a full reinstall?

Every time i'm starting a new game - crash. I can "create' my character, crash appears after a loading screen (after character creation).

Happens to us all from time to time. just retry and you should be fine. If it keeps happening you can try resetting your shaders.

That part doesnt help. run the installer again, should get you to 507, if it doesnt give it some time, you may be blocked on moddb.

It's best if you have any way of seeing the usage in-game while actually playing as tabbing out can have all sorts of effects on the usage but not always

If that's the actual usage then it looks like you have a good amount of room to turn the graphics up and you actually should, because I find that if the GPU isn't being used all the way, your FPS won't really get any higher. In fact, in my case it's slightly lower if I don't allow my GPU to utilize itself

But if your GPU is actually capping out while in gameplay it's a different story and there are some things we could do to fix that

#

If you say that you used to be able to run the game fine but now you can't, I think the only real big differences in how the game runs, assuming you are fully up-to-date and have the correct mods enabled/disabled, would be from Screen Space Shaders, which is a big bundle of good graphical features for the game

#

I'm not sure what the best way to disable it is, but, you can reinstall it by simply right clicking -> reinstall, and you can uncheck parts of it that you want to disable to save FPS. That should help if it has to do with your GPU, I don't know if there's any CPU impact from it.

#

Make sure you also figure out if AVX or No AVX runs better for your system. You have to just see it for yourself because it's different for everybody. In my case, No AVX runs distinctly better, but maybe not for you

Someone else may be able to help better with this but you can also downgrade from DX11 and go to one of the older DX versions.. not sure which ones are currently supported/will be supported, or what is best, but I know some people here use it to gain FPS.

A measure you can take to reduce CPU can also be tweaking your ZCP population settings so that they are lower and thus less AI doing stuff. You can also disable Offline Combat. These will have an effect on the gameplay experience but if you HAVE to save FPS then you gotta do what you gotta do

If you reduce population, keep in mind that small differences in the number make big effects, don't turn it down too much

@smoky crater Fixed the issue. i was missing the Direct X 9 and 11. (that was the original issue). Got those downloaded and reinstalled Anomaly. Still didnt work. Next i updated the gamma launcher and that fixed the issue!

Well it wouldn't hurt to uncheck it and see if the game runs, I know it's necessary for certain features but I believe those can also be disabled. If it doesn't work while unchecked we can simply hit reinstall and uncheck several parts of the mod, it won't do anything wrong to the game, I've done it to remove AO, the screen space shadows themselves, the weapon DOF, etc. and gotten them back too

Yeah just usually somebody knows. But for future reference it's easy to clear the cache, you have to do it every time you download/change/remove any mod that has some sort of effect on it. Like shaders or weather or something

@dusk citrus My two biggest recommendations would be Disabling SSS, or if it can't, reinstalling it and unchecking parts of it. Or even just using the MCM SSS settings and dumping them all to minimum.

And as a last resort, check the command "!dx9" or "!dx8" with the bot to find out how to use that. ZCP settings -> reducing stalker/mutant population can help too, as well as disabling Offline Combat. That's all the tips I really have sadly. I hope you can get it sorted out and that others can help you if not, but I have to go for now.

sounds stupid but make sure you have 11 or better installed. Also check your mod count, if your at 444 run it again to get 507
if your on widescreen you may need to get the DART mod
if all else fails you can do what ive been forced to do, make sure the game is launching in full screen, then after hitting play keep another application open while gamma loads in the background then swap over to it. Been struggling to find out why past few days but for now this is my work around

1) While in game, press F12, go inside Anomaly\appdata\screenshots. If the screenshot isn't there, look in your GAMMA RC3 folder, inside a folder called overwrite
2) Press PRTSC (Print Screen on your keyboard) open Paint, CTLR + V to paste the pic, save it, send it
3) Windows key + Shift + S, which lets you choose what part of the screen you want to take, it will directly copy the pic for you so all you'll have to do is just CTRL + V in the chat.

My game freezes a lot near the north exit of Jupiter (to Zaton) and the south exit of Jupiter (to Red Forest). It's a solid 5-10 second freeze. Is this a common problem? So far, these are pretty much the only areas where this happens (I haven’t gone further because I’m literally struggling with quests here). If I go somewhat near those zones, I freeze and end up dying to ISGβ€”fml.

I’ve followed the NVIDIA settings suggested in #β•°βš‘fps-optimisation , along with in-game settings, launcher settings, CPU core affinity tweaks, prefetch sounds, and Meatchunk’s Prefetcher, AVX, suggested visual base gamma visual settings (not much of SSS). For context, I have 32GB of RAM.

When playing in fullscreen, my CPU averages 20% usage (i7-13700K) and my GPU sits at 50% (4070).

I know it’s not so bad that it only happens in these spots, but man, I’ve died to patrols and controllers because I spawn in and just freeze in these mid/late-game areasβ€”LOL.

@slim pulsar You'll need to screenshot your MO2. To do that, follow below:

  1. Collapse the categories in MO2, by sorting mods by Priority and close the categories by using the arrows on the left side (first picture for reference below).
  2. Screenshot your MO2 by using Shift + Win + S.

So I figured I would ask here, but I'm running into what I would consider an unusual amount of stutters and underperformance. My in-game settings are the default; no SMAA or AA of any kind with the only exception being that my resolution is 2560x1440. I read through FAQ and performance recommendations but none of those seemed to help. I have tried changing CPU affinity, fullscreen/borderless, V-Sync, and Nvidia Control Panel settings. I have also enabled the plugin/mod for "Enable if you stutter".

I am running a 4070ti Super and I have an i7-12700F, so I figured I wouldn't be having any problems staying at 60fps...but I am. Occasionally there are "big" stutters as I move throughout the world, which that's probably to be expected as stuff gets loaded in and comes online. I'm just a bit perplexed as to why my FPS is so low, when I had a worse graphics card it seemed like my FPS was higher?

1) While in game, press F12, go inside Anomaly\appdata\screenshots. If the screenshot isn't there, look in your GAMMA RC3 folder, inside a folder called overwrite
2) Press PRTSC (Print Screen on your keyboard) open Paint, CTLR + V to paste the pic, save it, send it
3) Windows key + Shift + S, which lets you choose what part of the screen you want to take, it will directly copy the pic for you so all you'll have to do is just CTRL + V in the chat.

Try any one of these at a time (in no particular order) to see if it helps:

  1. Update G.A.M.M.A. to the latest version (open GAMMA Launcher with admin rights, click on Install / Update)
  2. Bring your modlist back to default (type !default in #πŸ€–bot-commands )
  3. If you have a NVIDIA GPU, you can enable Triple Buffering, and set Low Latency Mode to Ultra in NVIDIA control panel
  4. Open Anomaly Launcher via MO2 and tick Prefetch sounds
  5. If you have a beefy GPU, use Anomaly (DX11) (no avx)
  6. Activate the Turn this on if you stutter mod to alleviate stutters while losing some FPS
  7. Consider looking at #β•°βš‘fps-optimisation for a performance boost, if that channel is locked go here to unlock: #⏩start-confirm

  1. Restore the default user.ltx (get the game in working order).
  2. Launch Anomaly directly from it's folder in ..:\Anomaly\bin (this is completely skipping MO2, trying to load just Anomaly)
  3. Change a few settings as usual, that will cause the problem.
  4. Exit Anomaly, and relaunch it again as you did in step 2. See if it launcher successfully.

Trying to determine if your issue is gamma related or base game(anomaly) related.

it started when I was cleaning location before scorcher spiral. But there it become specifically often, So far I saw 2 situations when it happends:

  1. Second after save
  2. When I turn my head too fast (im in NVG if it matters)

ALso I have companion that get stuck somewhere near entrance of lab, if that matter.
Currently Im saving every 5 seconds and trying to get to last 3rd switch on spiral to turn off scorcher

You can keep launching the game directly through the anomaly .exe, to not complicate things with gamma for now.

2) Copy these four folders (check pic)
3) Go to your Anomaly folder
4) Paste these four folders (check pic)
5) Overwrite/replace all if asked
6) Go to your \Anomaly\bin folder and delete d3d9.dll and dxgi.dll files.
It won't delete your save files.

Go in this folder: Anomaly\appdata, you'll find a folder called shaders_cache, delete this folder and launch the game normally from MO2, using your preferred DX.

This is the only other fix we have for your issue. Or if it works fine if you don't alt-tab, don't alt-tab, i guess. Or you can try running the game in borderless window, alt-tabbing shouldn't cause problems that way, but you'll take a slight fps hit.

Remove zoom on right-click (ADS):

Mod Config Menu -> Free Zoom -> set ADS multiplier to 1
Remove FOV change on equipping pistols:
Mod Config Menu -> Free Zoom -> set pistol multiplier to 1
Sidenote: Check your HUD and HUD FOV sliders in Settings>Visual>Basic and set them back to default if Free Zoom messed them up.
Default values are as follows:
FOV: 80
HUD FOV: 0.65
