the game has a difficult time getting the monitor resolution of the steam deck and therefore crashes out when it tries to run tores[1], so our usual solution for that is to manually change that file within the GAMMA UI mod files and just manually set monitor height/width

that's p common lmao. old game. inexplicably sometimes changing from fullscreen to borderless causes weird graphics glitches, but the other 50% of the time it fixes settings glitches

You can reset graphic settings in the anomaly window and set it to full screen or windowed mode. I used windowed when testing so I could actually close the game and not have to restart every time

if you ever did anything in the !default command or did a gamma reinstall it will have reset your options; you can change Anomaly/appdata/user.ltx to make it borderless

Sounds like a case of busyhands

DO NOT ENABLE any of the disabled animations. These are the root cause of multiple animation loops that can break the game, to the point where you have to delete your current save file.
This bug is called "busy hands", an animation loop that prevents the player from interacting with the action keys, except for movement. This bug can also and especially be found with vanilla animations. Try not to spam them.

If you are still unsure whether you have it or not, try to do any of the following:

• interact with objects or people
• use a weapon (you shouldn't even be able to see it when you select it)
• open your inventory
• drink/eat/sleep
• check your HUD in the bottom left corner

If you cannot do any of this, it probably means you do have busy hands.

The only possible way to, maybe, remove it completely, is to disable any extra activated animation that was previously disabled. You will also have to go back to a previous save where you are 100% sure that you don't have busy hands.

Certified DISABLED animations that bring busy hands:

• Opening/closing backpack and any option related to this
• Animation for skinning mutants
• Disassembling objects with Left-Alt pressed
• Picking up objects where you can see the hand movement

It's either caused by a faulty mod, or permission issues on your drive.

if you end up with 358 mods active with no red X's and still get assertion failed, next step would be installing both Anomaly and Gamma onto another drive, if you have it.

I'm having a issue with running anomaly with the gamma mods. when i try to launch through the Mo2 launcher, nothing happens. I select DVX11 as the instructions say, and hit run. everything seems fine until the anomaly launcher disappears and my computer makes a tone, no error message comes up or anything. I have deleted and re installed the gamma mods 3 times, and its the same issue every time. I've tried every option of opening the gamma and its the same result every time. I noticed that some of the mods show as red in the list under where you select which version to run, can't figure out what the issue is with those either. When downloading and installing the gamma mods, i get no errors during the process and everything completes as normal. I'm on the verge of giving up on this mod pack

I'm done with installation but have a bunch of Robocopy windows left open with "cannot find path specified" so I'm wondering if there was an issue with the installation or not or if this is expected behavior.

Initially I had an issue with Instructions Running and after searching I found the fix here to be replacing the Robocopy in the mod folders with the one I have in Sys32. I did and the installation proceeded but I keep getting these robocopy error messages.

Hello there! Played a bit of vanilla Anomaly some months ago and I wanted to try out the Gamma modpack so I've made a fresh new install, made sure to update to 1.5.2, did everything but crashed on startup with a fatal error. Also made sure I had all 358 mods in the mod manager and looked up on google. I changed read only and launched as admin and worked. Today I had to delete everything because I've fucked up something with the shaders and did a fresh reinstall but now the fatal error on startup persists. I can't seem to figure out what's going on because I'm pretty sure I did all the steps correctly. I think it has to do with the read only/admin thing but I am not sure

You need to enable a mod in MO2: Quick Companion Teleport

When you're in game, press J. Be sure to be close to them, 200m is the maximum distance you can be far from them, don't go over 300m.
Also, if their health bar is grey, that means that you're far from them and they won't "hear" you.
You'll need to get more close to them, sometimes you'll need to be right next to them in order to "teleport" them.

Hey... It looks like any time you have companions following you in certain undergrounds areas, the game may crash because they get too far from you. The work around is to have them stay in place (not follow you)

Noticed that companions will sometimes just stand in an area and not follow you for unknown reasons. From what I've seen they like to wait by a campfire, oddly enough

Also... There's a body I have to loot with a pda... but there is a vortex directly on it. Sometimes if it's an artefact I can run through and grab it without damage. But this body needs to be opened and the pda must be clicked. It takes too long and kills you.

I tried using the keybind method and copy paste the itx file from G.A.M.M.A patches into anomaly app data,,, but it didn't work (since we thought this would reset the game and allow it to launch again),,,, then i also tried something Grok suggested to me on reddit - simply install gamma add ons only from the installer,,, but that hasn't worked either,,, basically the game works absolutely fine the first time after a fresh install but then doesn't launch once i quit the first time after a fresh install,,, Kindly help me with this as i played for 1-2 hours and thought this game was absolutely amazing - enhancing a creating a new way to experience stalker for me.

DO NOT ENABLE any of the disabled animations. These are the root cause of multiple animation loops that can break the game, to the point where you have to delete your current save file.
This bug is called "busy hands", an animation loop that prevents the player from interacting with the action keys, except for movement. This bug can also and especially be found with vanilla animations. Try not to spam them.

If you are still unsure whether you have it or not, try to do any of the following:

• interact with objects or people
• use a weapon (you shouldn't even be able to see it when you select it)
• open your inventory
• drink/eat/sleep
• check your HUD in the bottom left corner

If you cannot do any of this, it probably means you do have busy hands.

The only possible way to, maybe, remove it completely, is to disable any extra activated animation that was previously disabled. You will also have to go back to a previous save where you are 100% sure that you don't have busy hands.

Certified DISABLED animations that bring busy hands:

• Opening/closing backpack and any option related to this
• Animation for skinning mutants
• Disassembling objects with Left-Alt pressed
• Picking up objects where you can see the hand movement

A possible fix for busyhands if you have the "Turn this on if you stutter" mod enabled: reduce the auto_switch_distance_start in small increments of a few hundred at a time in \GAMMA\mods\Turn this on if you stutter\gamedata\configs alife.ltx.
Start with like 300 or something, then every time you get busyhands randomly, reduce it by 200 more.
If the fix needs to be resistant to changes made by the installer make sure to also modify the alife.ltx file in \GAMMA\.Grok's Modpack Installer\G.A.M.M.A\modpack_addons\Turn this on if you stutter\gamedata\configs

If you get the bug on first load, try loading the same save again. It loads faster and is less likely to bug.
