Majestic Weathers is what they are using, with regular Majestic Reshade or Tweaked Expedition one for screenshots, I assume the suffering is caused from the insufferable levels of bloom from Expedition reshade, may look good on screenshot but literally unplayable

if the problem is due to new version of expedition, there should be some clues in the script logs that appear on the window shell when you launch the bat script. Have you lauched exepedition by itself, I mean the standalone game? Does that runs? In any case an update of that script to Expedition 2.2 is not going to happen, because I am working on something more general which it will include expedition 2.2 as well

Turn off Gardner of the zone and and autumn no leaves and your game will instantly look a million times more alive. Somehow, I don't know why but I also got like 10 more FPS and stutters went away too.

Grass is a setting that can give or take a lot of FPS in Anomaly. You can lower the density/distance and increase the size by like .1 or .2 to make it seem more dense without hitting the FPS too much but it might make mutants hard to hit.

A lot of screenshots you see are the result of finding the correct lighting and then tweaking tonemap settings like lowlum and middle grey to get the best image. What you don't see is as soon as the person walks like 8 feet forward, the whimsical quality of the image is just gone.

The real image quality that they actually play the game at is somewhere between default and the screenshot they took.

Most people aren't going to tweak their gloss settings every time the weather changes.

Actually, I lied. Cull hunting and bounty missions on bandits are the most efficient missions. Just pick them up and eventually A-life will kill them for you.
